Caledonian Church Apartment combines the comfort of a newly fitted living space with the charm and tranquil character of the second and third floor of the original church. Located in the heart of Edinburgh, you will find easy access to the beauty and excitement of the capital of Scotland. The security entry phone gives access to a communal hall and stairs shared with only three other flats. Inside the apartment there are two double bedrooms and a fully fitted double height dining kitchen downstairs along with a bathroom and utility room. A stair leads up to the spacious galleried living area which maintains the old wooden beams of the original church ceiling. The property is finished to an exceptional standard with oak doors and floors throughout. The galleried living area looks back down into the kitchen where there is a desk for your convenience and a selection of books on Scottish history, art and poetry as well as some classic Scottish fiction and city guides and maps.

About the Owner
We are Catriona and Roberto. We live in Edinburgh where Catriona was born and Roberto has adopted as his home. It is a beautiful and exciting city to live in and we enjoy sharing our experience and knowledge of the city and surrounding countryside with people who come to Edinburgh and Scotland on holiday. If you choose to come and stay in our apartment in Caledonian church we will try to help make your stay as comfortable and interesting as we can. We like to meet all our visitors at the apartment where we show you around. We won't disturb your privacy, but we live close by and if you need anything during your stay we will be delighted to help.

I couldn't recommend this flat highly enough. It was beautiful, spacious, and absolutely immaculate. The owners were so helpful and really went the extra mile. The flat is in a great location, close to town and to haymarket station, but in a quiet location at night. We will never stay anywhere else in Edinburgh now!
Lovely apartment! Truly a home away from home. Very clean, great location, well appointed. Highlights included; nice soaker tub, heated towel rack, hair dryer, modern kitchen, comfortable king bed. Located on quiet side street, and in a gorgeous old church. Walking distance to Old and New towns, and around the corner from Haymarket station and Airlink bus stop. Owner was pleasant and professional.

Home from Home Holiday Apartment
A lovely spacious 2 double bed roomed apartment in a converted church. Very clean & comfortable with all mod cons makes this definitely a home from home. In a quiet location a few minutes from Haymarket station with many shops & restaurants a couple of minutes away. 20 minutes walk to Princes St & lots of bus routes 2 minutes away. We enjoyed our short stay & would definitely consider another stay when in Edinburgh.
we stayed at Roberto and Catriona's apartment for a friends wedding. It is an ideal venue for anyone staying in Edinburgh with close to the city centre. when the trams begin it will be even easier to get around. the apartment was as described and very quiet and comfortable for 4 adults, there is a beautiful sitting area and you do feel really spoilt to be using it. the kitchen has everything you may need for a break however long you are staying and having a separate utility space is great.
It was very clean and tidy.
I would happily stay here again.

The apartment is only a short stroll away from the world famous shops of Princes Street, which face Princes Street Gardens and Edinburgh Castle. The Old Town, the Grassmarket, the Georgian terraces of The New Town and the open spaces of The Meadows and are within easy walking distance. There are excellent local shopping facilities and attractive bars, cafes and restaurants beside the apartment. The city’s two Art Cinemas are in walking distance, as is a multiplex cinema and leisure complex. There is a Victorian swimming pool, open to the public, next to the apartment.”

Portobello Beach is 30 minutes driving distance from the flat. It is an old town with a promenade on the seafront and was popular in Victorian times for holidays by the people of Edinburgh. More rural and quiet beaches can be found along the coast of East Lothian. Gullane, North Berwick and Tantallon are among our favourites.
Express buses go to the airport every 10 minutes from Haymarket station. The journey to the airport takes 20 minutes.
There is an international ferry port at Rosyth, which takes 40 minutes to drive by car or bus, the rail link takes about 20 minutes.

“The apartment is a beautiful two-bedroom stylish duplex, set over the second and third floor of a converted church, combining period charm with modern, loft style living. The property is beautifully presented. A fantastic double height kitchen/breakfast room, with ample space for dining, benefits from, soaring ceilings, composite work surfaces and a full range of integrated appliances; including gas hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, and fridge/freezer. An open staircase leads up to the generous main living area, which occupies the third floor. Two velux skylights afford ample natural light and the magnificent original timbers add a real sense of character. The apartment is well equipped to sleep 4 to 6 comfortably. A travel cot can be provided for guests traveling with a baby or toddler.”

Express buses go to the airport every 10 minutes from Haymarket station. The journey to the airport takes 20 minutes. Waverley train Station is a 10 minute bus journey. Parking is on street metered parking, from Monday to Friday from 8:30 until 17:30. There is free parking on Saturday and Sundays. Free on-street parking can be found further out of the city centre. Utility Room: A separate spacious utility room houses the washing machine, iron/ironing board and a clothes horse. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are included, beds will be prepared for your arrival.
