Newly Renovated Farmhouse Outside St Davids, A Short Walk From The Coastal Path

Updated: 26-Aug-2015
Farmhouse in St. Davids, Pembrokeshire, Wales - Tastefully Renovated Offering Modern Comforts In A Beautiful Setting With Distant Sea Views

For those who like to explore, the footpath opposite the property leads you up to Penberry Rock and straight onto the coastal path. The dramatic cliff line is home to seals who can often be seen basking, especially in September when they come on shore to have their pups. Activities such as climbing, surfing, kayaking and coasteering can be booked at TYF activity centre in St Davids and there are boat trips out to Ramsey Island nature reserve and offshore to see porpoises, dolphins and whales. The popular beach of Whitesands is just a ten minute drive. St Davids itself is the smallest city in the UK and although closer in size to a village, it offers a range of pubs, cafés, restaurants, shops and galleries, a stunning cathedral and an award winning visitor centre.

our favourite place in Wales

  • 5 of 5

We love Wales. A lot. Dan-y garn is our favourite place to stay in Wales and we have been three times in two years. The cottage is very much "home from home" and is always clean, well appointed, spacious enough for our family of four (there were five of us during our last stay) and extremely tranquil and relaxing. It really does not take long for us to feel completely wound down from work and the pressures of urban life.

The cottage is in a lovely rural location, being only a short walk to the coastal path, which allows you to explore the beautiful coastline without the need for taking vehicles etc. There is so much to do and so many places to explore and see. St Davids is a wonderful "city" and the surrounding Pembrokeshire countryside and beaches are quite lovely.

Jetske and her partner, who look after the property, are extremely helpful and nothing is ever too much bother. We will definitely be going back - if not later this year then next year.

We cannot recommend dan-y-garn enough.

From the Owner

Dan y Garn has beautiful views over Penbery rock and is a five minute walk from the coast path, where you can spot seals pupping on the pebble beach far below you. The house is in a rural area surrounded by farmland, and looking out of the kitchen window you will see cattle or sheep, depending on the seasons.
