We are a British and Belgian family with three boys living in Cascais. We are experienced international travelers and understand the needs to cater for a fantastic holiday in this beautiful part of the world.

Why Bernadette Gibson chose Cascais

After living 6 years in Cascais we moved to another part of Europe where we missed the natural beauty and friendly people of Portugal. We bought this holiday property to remain in touch with the country and friends and allow our children to continue enjoying the outdoor pleasures that Cascais area has to offer (golf, horse riding, fishing, surfing, tennis, and even paintball!).

We chose this unique and exclusive location for the beauty of the surroundings and the amazing amount of activities so close by.

Nature, gardens, trees and tranquility is the first thing you notice. Unique location and close to all main activities in the area. This is a well furnished, spotless, spacious, stylish and modern apartment where every need has been considered. Bernadette (the friendly owner) very kindly accommodated our early arrival and welcomed us with a bottle of wine, beers, water, fruit and a box of the famous pasteis de natas. An extremely well stocked kitchen, Molton Brown toiletries, furnished east facing balcony for morning coffee, a beautiful view of the trees and pool on the immaculate condo site from the west facing balcony (including outdoor lanterns and blankets for snuggling up outdoors in the evenings) are just a few of the things you can enjoy here. The Sheraton Hotel foyer is also a beautiful relaxing space and there is a plentiful supply of sun loungers around the swimming pool. Bernadette recommended we visit the Guincho Beach Bar down the dusty track of Estrada do Abano - an absolute must!!

Fabulous apartment

We had a fabulous stay at this lovely apartment at the end of August. On arrival we were greeted by Bernadette, who gave us a guided tour of the property, along with lots of very useful information about the local area.

The apartment was even nicer than it looked in the pictures, and had everything we could have needed and more. The rooms were all spacious and clean, the beds were very comfortable and the attention to detail in the decoration was a treat.

We arrived after spending a few days in Lisbon, which is only 30 minutes away by car. Our two girls (aged 7 & 9) loved the pool, and there is so much to do nearby we could happily have stayed for longer. Sintra is a must see place, but for us the surfing on nearby Guincho Beach was the highlight.

There are lots of great places to eat nearby, although the apartment was so lovely often we were happy just to stay at home relaxing on the balcony.

A car is a necessity to really enjoy the region. We still have much to see so hopefully we will be back soon. We would definitely recommend the apartment to friends or family.

Bernadette has been really helpful and a pleasure to deal from start to finish.

Beautiful apartment in peaceful location

Thank you Bernadette and Anthony, for a wonderful stay in your beautiful apartment close to Guincho beach and lovely Cascais.

We have two young children and find villas/apartments the perfect option for holidays. This beautiful apartment is definitely one of the best properties we have stayed in. It offers both practicality due to layout/location and adults a sense of luxury thanks to the attention to detail and very well-designed decor.

We highly recommend this apartment if you are looking for stress free, peaceful accommodation in a beautiful setting. I am sure we will return!

Excellent

We had a fantastic stay at this lovely property in March 2014.The apartment is in fact much better than the pictures show and the owners, Bernadette and Anthony, are very warm and lovely people. The area is full of attractions, restaurants and lovely sights to discover, i.e. a full range of activities from watespors and horse riding to fine dining options and cultural attractions. We immidiately decided to go back after our short holiday in March, and we will return in September. There is something for everyone here and we would highly recommend this apartment for a holiday trip to the Cascais area.

Home from home

This was our first experience of renting privately through Owners Direct and surpassed our expectations in every way. From the moment the owner met us and showed us around we felt so at home. The apartment was luxuriously appointed and extremely spacious. The outdoor swimming pool was beautifully kept and the 5star hotel on site was ideal.The location at Cascais is perfect for visiting all the major tourist attractions in the area from Lisbon to Sintra. The beaches are fantastic and offer all sorts of water sports. The area is well served with golf courses too. There is a wide selection of dining experiences in the vicinity plus plenty of food outlets. We would definitely recommend this beautiful apartment as a base to explore the Estoril Coast or equally as a relaxing bolt hole. We very much hope to return.

Coast/Beach:

Property is just up the road from the Estoril/Cascais coast which ranges from small village beaches with bars and restaurants to wilder and more natural beaches like the famous Guincho beach that is only a three minute drive away. Guincho beach, located in a national park, is a fantastic beach for surfing, nestled below some natural sand dunes. The whole Cascais coast area is lined with a jogging and bike path.

Lisbon International airport at 35 kms.

A5 motorway access 2 kms away.

Cascais train station 2 kms away.

Car rental recommended, even though taxis are relatively inexpensive and easy to get.

Limo service can be arranged.

To Estoril Village: 5km

To Sintra UNESCO World Heritage Village: 20kms

To Lisbon: 30kms

To seaside fish restaurants: 1 km

Closest bakery,supermarket, and cash ATM: 500 meters

Further Details:

Cascais Yacht Marina is 2kms away for boating and sailing enthusiasts.

Lisbon, recently voted Europe's Leading City Breaks destination, is only 30kms away and well worth visiting either by car, taxi, limo or train leaving from Cascais.

Spectacular Cabo da Roca lighthouse at Europe's most westerly point is only 15 minutes away. Further north are spectacular beaches and quaint villages to be discovered.
