Strikingly stylish in an enviable and beautiful location, this property has been restored to a high standard in 2014. Large open plan living areas and well proportioned bedrooms give a real sense of light and space. This has been accentuated by the white washed walls and south facing rooms overlooking the terraces, gardens and heated pool. La Badoussie is a Perigordian stone house with attached converted barn providing 5 generous bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, 2 reception rooms and a modern well-equipped kitchen. There's a lot of space for children too: in addition to the pool they will love playing in the lawned gardens or exploring the wooded areas beyond. La Badoussie is set within the Perigord Noir, famed for its history, cuisine, châteaux and stunningly pretty villages. The house is 4km from the famous Perigordian village of Daglan, 10 km from the River Dordogne and 20km from the Renaissance town of Sarlat.

I Want to Keep La Badoussie a Secret Just for Us

We were a group of 9 that booked nearly 12 months in advance to stay for a week. We were firstly captured by the wonderful photos on Owners Direct and the space this house would provide for us. When we arrived we all looked at one another and knew we had made exactly the right choice. The owners were more than helpful in every way leading up to our stay by giving us very detailed instructions, directions and advising us of places to visit. The house was decorated to a very high standard and all bedrooms were so very comfortable. We had minor hiccups with the swimming pool cover but this was dealt with immediately on contacting the owners, nothing was a problem. The only thing that was missing was a toaster but I suppose we were in France. Our last night sitting outside on the verandah we were visited by wild deer, spectacular. Thank you so much for letting us stay and we all decided that we would return.

Simply astounding, and much bigger than expected.

This house is just fabulous. It takes your breath away when you step inside. It's furnished to a very high standard and is much bigger than it appears in the photos. It's location is also first class - close to the river, castles, and bike riding. Frankly, look no further!

Perfect place to stay

We had a wonderful stay in this lovely house. The facilities were perfect. The owners had thought of everything even down to the torches on the bedside tables in case of a power cut. The house was spacious and so arranged that people could have their own space. The views from the house were lovely. The family loved the swimming pool. We loved Daglan with its two very good restaurants, the boulangerie, small supermarket and its weekly market. We would really recommend this house and hope to go again in the future.

Simply Stunning

We cannot recommend 'La Badoussie' highly enough.

From the photographs (which are very accurate), we had high expectations of this property and we were not disappointed. We were overwhelmed by how beautiful the property is and by the wonderful location too. The views are breathtaking and there are many lovely villages within a short drive (Domme and La Roque-Gageac were particular favourites of ours). A very clever refurbishment provides light, spacious split level accommodation, with luxury furnishings ( bedding from the White Company, crockery from John Lewis) and a very well equipped Kitchen. Exceptionally clean and well maintained. The outside space is huge with lovely flowerbeds, a beautiful pool and luxury sun-loungers.

Beautifully Restored Dordogne Property

We had the pleasure of staying at La Badoussie for a week in June 2015. Booked at the last minute, the owners, David & Colleen were most helpful in getting everything ready for our imminent arrival. And when we did arrive we were certainly not dissappointed! This is a beautifully restored property with plenty of space for a large family. It is light & airy (not always the case with properties out here) & was exceptionally well equipped. There were three generations of our family & the property afforded something for everyone. The bedrooms were all well-sized & very comfortable, the kitchen spacious & well-appointed, a large bright summer room, & a cosy lounge with a fire if the weather turns cold. The huge garden was great for the children to run around in & they loved the swing & slide. There is a tremendous outlook from the property & the pool area, & the pool itself is heated which was just as well as the week prior to our arrival had been cold & very wet. There are some beautiful villages nearby (especially Daglan) & the the property is well located for many of the more popular places to visit. All in all a beautiful house in a lovely part of the Dordogne & one day we hope perhaps to return.

Five star accommodation

We were a family of four generation staying for two weeks.

Driving up the steep hill you suddenly arrive at La Badoussie. What a fantastic house. The interior of the house is just like the photographs on the website although the house is much bigger than it looks. The kitchen has everything you need with many of the items and appliances being almost new and hardly used. The bedrooms are all large with very comfortable beds and lovely on-suite shower/bathrooms. The sitting room was one of our favourite rooms with fantastic views over the tops of trees as far as the eye could see. There was a large chest of board games and toys for the children and also a good variety of dvds and books. Outside there is a large terrace with a long table which is great for breakfast and lovely for evening snacks and drinks. There are also other places to sit in or out of the sun. The BBQ was used quite a few evenings. Down the slope is a good sized swimming pool which we had heated at a small extra charge. For the children there are pool toys and on the lawn there is a swing and climbing frame. Also there was a new table tennis table which was good fun.

A car is essential for this property as the nearest village of Daglan is 5kms away. Daglan is a lovely village with restaurants, butchers, baker and supermarket. It also has a nice market on Sunday mornings. Top tip go to the evening markets which some of the villages have where the locals go. You pick a table then buy your food from the food stalls and sit at your table and eat it with a nice bottle of wine. Fantastic.

We would like to thank Colleen and David, the owners of La Badoussie for all their help and advice on the planning of our holiday and we hope to return.
