Overview

About the property

Cottage in Gunwalloe, Nr. Helston, Cornwall, England - Peaceful Location, Walk To Beaches, Surf School, Golf Course And Gastropub

Halzephron Cottage stands on an unspoilt stretch of Cornish headland with views across the ocean and Mount's Bay. Surrounded by National Trust land, the property has been refurbished in a contemporary, relaxed style with modern kitchen and bathrooms. The village gastro pub, sandy beaches, golf course and surf school are within walking distance.

The Cottage was featured in Country Living Magazine and has a rustic, cosy yet contemporary feel. The living room has expansive ocean views through the panoramic window, two sofas, a cosy woodburner, supply of logs and small flatscreen TV/DVD player. Above the living room is a gallery with round window that leads into the upstairs twin bedroom. This room has a dual aspect and benefits from both sunrise and sunset views.

The kitchen/diner again overlooks the ocean and small front garden and has all the gadgets necessary for a family to self-cater in style. It includes a range cooker, large American-style fridge freezer, washer-drier and dishwasher.

The downstairs bedroom has an oak double bed and country and sea views. It is close to the slate and pebble wetroom or the bathroom with double-ended bath. There's also a bunk room downstairs with adult sized bunks and sea views to the north-west.

Step out on to the coastal path, to three beaches and the award-winning village pub.

Changeover days Friday in high season and during school holidays. Enquire for shorter breaks in low season.

About lucy thorp

We love to share Halzephron and it's wild beauty. Roger is a film maker and video artist.

lucy thorp purchased this cottage in 2004

Why lucy thorp chose Lizard Peninsula

We bought the house in 2004, immediately fell for the amazing location and view.

The Lizard is an unspoilt part of Cornwall, here you can escape the crowds, find an uninhabited cove, peace and quiet. There are also some incredible places to eat and buy superb, organic ingredients. Although we are on the edge of the UK, it's easy to reach the house, only the last 10 minutes of the drive here are on small lanes.

What makes this cottage unique

If you want a wonderfully relaxing Cornish holiday come to Halzephron. Order an online food delivery (that we'll put away for your arrival), leave the car in the carpark and walk to the beaches, next village or cove, award-winning village pub or the Church and golf course at the bottom of the lane. Light the woodburner on chilly evenings and put on one of our DVD's or use the BBQ and watch the sun go down over the ocean. As there is so little light pollution here we also benefit from some incredible star gazing. If you come at the right time of year you might even bump into the film crew filming the next episode of Poldark!
