About The Owner

We live in the south east of England.

France has always been a special holiday destination for us, offering beautiful and varied countryside and within easy access of the UK. So we took the plunge in 2012.

It took a few months of hard work to renovate. It was worth it.

We love the house and garden as do our family and friends. We wish we could spend longer periods in this region.

Thank you for taking time to view of home.

The Owner purchased this villa in 2012

Why The Owner chose Isle-sur-la-Sorgue area

Le Mas Guillaume enjoys glorious views of the Vaucluse hills from the terrace. For us, sundowners in the garden, the glorious garden, make it rather special location. We always are amazed at the magnificent night skies.

The area has many good leisure options, walking, golf and cycling. Fishing and canoeing, too.

As we love the outdoors, so this was a perfect choice of properties.

The Luberon National Park offers stunning walking. La Sorgue is stunning.

The property is tranquil, not isolated with easy access to nearby villages and towns.

The coast is approximately an hour's drive from the house.

Recently we visited Pont du Gard, a stunning ancient Roman aqueduct. Well worth a visit.

What makes this villa unique

The house is conveniently located to the town of L'Isle sur la Sorgue, a 5 minute drive, good shopping, great restaurants, too.

The Luberon villages are within easy reach, Menerbes, Gordes, Goult to name a few.

Le Mas Guillaume is great for families with children or teenagers, offering privacy with lovely outdoor areas. Good security and a tastefully fenced pool area.

We are fortunate to have a good manager who endeavours to make this a special holiday for our guests

Easy access for wheelchair users.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Just wanted to thank you for our stay so far. The house is magnificent, the gifts a delight and we've had one whole day en famille ( the pool has been a great source of entertainment as has the volleyball).

Absolutely Wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful house for a holiday. We were two families, all adults, and it catered for all our needs. The photos do not do it justice; everything was as described and more. We spent almost all of our time either in the kitchen, on the terrace or by the pool - all brilliant. It's easy to get anywhere for shopping, markets and visiting the lovely local villages (our favourites being Gordes, Menerbes and Fontaine de Vaucluse). Also Cassis on the coast is well worth a visit, not forgetting all the opportunities for wine tasting (superb Rosé)!

Patricia and Douglas were extremely helpful beforehand and kept in touch during our stay. Elayne and Catherine (manager and housekeeper) were also great. We would love to return for another holiday.

Perfect getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We spent a wonderful week in this beautiful home from home. The property is very spacious and comfortable, with lots of little details that added a special touch to our holiday- the local wine and soap on arrival were particularly enjoyable after a long days travel, and the kids adored playing with all the toys stored in the garage. Between that, the pool and the garden, they were very well occupied!

The location is stunning, all the beauty of rural Provence, yet only 5 minutes from the restaurants and shops in L'isle Sur la Sorgue. We had a great time exploring on market day.

There are so many beautiful places to visit in the surrounding area. We particularly enjoyed visiting fountain de vaucluse where we had an exceptional meal at restaurant Philip, and saumane de vaucluse where bistro de saumane is worth a trip. There is lots to see and do, hiking, cycling, kayaking and even a high ropes course nearby, plenty of activities for the kids.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and enjoyed many tranquil evenings on the terrace with a lovely meal (courtesy chef Jane) and a glass or two of local rosé... perfect getaway!

atmospheric house in a lovely setting

  • 5 of 5

The house fully meets expectations, it is stylishly finished and you are fully equipped. In the immediate vicinity are many beautiful villages and activities.Even with small children, the house is very practical and safe. The poolside cottage has its own entrance, and is therefore perfect for a couple, space enough for a couple with baby.

(A small cooking plate and microwave in that cottage would make it complete.) The main house is also very spacious (four big bedrooms and a small one for a child) !

We were very happy with the cleaning service after a week. Washing the sheets and towels gives a very luxury feeling.

We enjoyed the house very very much!

Lovely property

  • 5 of 5

I and my family stayed in this property for the second time. We are a family of 10 spanning 3 generations - 6 adults and 4 boys - boys ranging in age from 6 months to 4 years.

The property is as described and had every facility needed for our party. The kitchen, particularly, is very well equipped.

The pool, garden and outside toys are ideal for our grandsons, and the house very comfortable for both children and adults.

The location is perfect, we cycled every day to buy our croissants, did canal side walks, kayaked twice during our stay and even ventured on a trip to the coast.

The house is maintained to a very high standard as are the garden and pool area. We found it very helpful in view of the ages of our grandsons that the pool was in a separate gated area from the rest of the garden and house.

We enjoyed visiting the local villages and markets in this beautiful area and I would have no hesitation in recommending it to families. We hope to return!

A beautifully decorated villa in a quiet location yet only a short drive into isle sur la Sorgue .

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful villa very well maintained in a quiet location yet so close to isle sur la Sorgue. The garden was large and the pool was a great temperature for us and the children, they swam every day. There was a wide choice of pool toys and floatables there was also use of bikes to cycle to the village .

Patricia the owner could not have been more helpful recommending an amazing local restaurant and even booking it for us . We also needed a wheelchair for my Mother which she also arranged.

The bed linen and towels ( both bath and beach towels were of a really good standard and the beds were very comfortable. The villa was perfect for our party of 7 , my Husband and I ( in the Valcuse annex) my sister her husband and their two Children and my Mother who has limited mobility . Thank you so much we will definitely return .

A luxurious home from home in Provence

  • 5 of 5

What a lovely Provencal home! We wanted for nothing, it was so comfortable and well equipped. The house was immaculate on our arrival, with a gift of local wine and soap to welcome us.

The house is beautifully furnished and my husband and I were delighted to be ensconced in the stunning Vaucluse suite opening into the garden and pool area.

Our grandchildren loved the house and garden, and the pool, even though it was early in the season!

The surrounding countryside is beautiful with stunning hilltop towns and the lovely town of Isle-sur-la-Sorgue to explore.

We had a couple of issues but a word to the local manager and everything was speedily sorted out, with the friendly owners calling to check all was well.

We cannot recommend this property highly enough and would love to return one day.
