Superb!!

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from a fabulous two week holiday at Casa Helon. The house is perfectly located just 5 minutes walk from the centre of Ostuni where you will find bars, restaurants and shops and only a 15 minute car drive to the beautiful beaches.

The property is spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped with everything you would need and more including wifi. Helen and Gordon the owners were in regular contact with us which re-assured us as well as knowing that Franco was on hand in case of any problems, which there were none.

The local Saturday market is a must as well as a visit to Lecce and we can recommend the local train which was very convenient.

We would highly recommend this property to a friend if you are looking for a holiday with a difference and we will definitely return in the future.

Thank you Helen and Gordon for a wonderful holiday!!

Wow Beautiful Old House

  • 5 of 5

This was our first visit to Ostuni and we both loved the Old Town atmospheric medieval town. Gosh we were not disappointed at our choice of stay at Casa Helon; a beautifully restored old house with a wow factor within mins walk from the old centre of Ostuni.

Casa Helon has been lovingly restored and fitted to a very high standard but retraining all of its old features but with all modern day conveniences; wifi etc including a wood burning stove; no expense spared. The house has two roof terraces where you can sit with glass of whatever you drink overlooking the old roof tops of Ostuni with distance sea views and watch the sun go down; there is outside BBQ for alfresco dining with washing up facilities on one of the terraces.

We found Casa Helon is perfectly situated close to the main old centre with everything you need close and very Italian; local deli; fresh bread from the baker; bars and even local small pizzeria who do the most wonderful pizza’s we have ever tasted all mins walk from the house front door.

The food in the Old Town is absolutely wonderful and we ate some of the best meals ever; all the produce was local and the restaurants all very Italian, nothing commercial about Ostuni – wonderful, you can live the Italian life !

The owners were very helpful making sure we had everything we needed and even Helen and Gordon arranged for us to be picked up at the airport and taken direct to the house by Franco; and my husband even enjoyed a half day bike tour with Franco during our stay; in which he came back full of what he had seen and how beautiful the countryside and excellent beaches were.

We would not hesitate to recommend it to friends and we are already thinking about when we might return.

Thank you to the owners Helen & Gordon.

Amazing Flat in a stunning city!

  • 5 of 5

Ostuni is a magical city, but staying at Helen's flat has helped so much to enjoy it as it should be. The flat itself is beautiful, practical, very clean and charming. The two roof terraces were absolutely amazing and the reality of the place is even better that what is shown on the photos. The flat is perfectly located, in a quiet street and locals were very helpful with us. It is a short distance from the old center and from any part of the city really.

Helen has been very helpful, making sure we had arrived safely and that we had everything we needed, so was Franco who picked us up from the aiport and drove us back there, even thinking about taking another road for us to enjoy the landscape on the way back. Any problem and Franco can be here to help on his bicycle in less than 10mn.

We would love to stay again very soon in this amazing flat. Thank you again.

Excellent property and hospitality-thank you

  • 5 of 5

Helen's description and photographs of her beautiful house do not tell the full story. A greater emphasis and praise for the attention to detail is so justified. A meticulously restored and superbly equipped town house minutes from the centre of beautiful Ostuni. The surrounding area is simply stunning - unsurpassed secluded coves and beaches on the warm blue Adriatic which Franco, Helen's local representative will take you to. Ostuni itself is breathtaking and full of very reasonably priced restaurants/cafes producing food of the highest quality. To return at the end of the day to such a superbly appointed property was the icing on the cake. We enjoyed a week of pure happiness. We relaxed on the lovely terraces and the only problem 'what to do next'. Superb.

Bellissimo!

  • 5 of 5

We spent a wonderful week at Casa Helon in July. this was the first time we have visited this area of Italy. From the minute we arrived and unpacked, we felt totally relaxed and at home. The house has been beautifully restored to a very high standard, with lovely arched stone ceilings in all the rooms, giving it a lovely cosy feel. The house is well equipped throughout, has a sunny roof terrace where your can eat 'al fresco', sunbathe or just watch the world drift by.

Despite our lack of Italian, the neighbours were all very friendly. Otsuni itself has a wealth of character and history, an abundance of cafes, restaurants and shops to wander around. A trip to one of the local beaches is only a short drive away. All in all would highly recommend Casa Helon - was a lovely place to stay and somewhere we would love to return to and enjoy this unique part of Italy!

'We will be back!'

  • 5 of 5

Having always wanted to see Italy and all it’s splendour we couldn't have wished for a better introduction. Ostuni itself is simply stunning! You know that image you have of the moped down a white washed alley way with steps leading to wooden doorways….well its from Ostuni. We inadvertently managed to book the week of the festival and we were so glad we did. The town was buzzing from dawn till dusk (even through till midnight when the fireworks went off!!). Food and drink was addictive and the locals were more than welcoming. We would have liked to have had more time to enjoy the infinite amount of bars and beautiful restaurants but we had to save some for next time. Casa Helon could not have been more perfect. There was not a single item we were left wanting in any room and the information provided was so insightful we were settled in minutes and felt like regulars. The house itself was a treat to call home and the building and decor are simply fantastic. The roof top is blessed with the sun all day and when that got a bit warm the air-con was welcoming. We had the most relaxing yet invigorating time here. Have visited many places but there are few we would return to as much as we would here. Fantastic house, perfectly appointed, stunning area, a favourite holiday.
