average rating of 4.5 based on 10 reviews

Just as described in the advert. We really enjoyed our stay.

4 adults and 4 youngsters stayed in the property. The information exchange before the stay was first class and the property was just perfect for us. It's a very short drive to the nearest lift and the local village is lovely.

Home away from home - Perfect stay every time

  • 5 of 5

My family and I have stayed a number of times and keeping back. We often rent villas in the summer and are amazed at how much you can spend and still not get cutlery :) but here you have everything you would like. Plenty of bathrooms for that warm shower after a long days skiing or summer hiking. The living area is very spacious and happily seats two families of mixed ages. As a skier, I love my boots warm and dry in the morning and there are huge walled piste maps and racks of boot warmers in the basement/garage. The older kids love to escape the adults into the downstairs TV/games room. Only thing missing is a ski bench for sharpening those edges :)

Lovely chalet

  • 4 of 5

Lovely chalet only downside for us,as we did not come by car (ski train & taxi), was the extremely limited bus service and the first morning it did not turn up! The 10-15minute walk up to the village is partially on a busy mountain road. Would definitely visit again but would drive.

As described, great space, lovely location, full kitchen equipment!

  • 5 of 5

As of March 2017

Initial impressions were good. Double electric garage door which reveal boot warmers, ski and board rack, and plenty of wood, ready chopped for the large fire situated in the lounge . We were a group of 5 males (should have been 6) and this chalet was a great home for the week. Rooms were spacious, and consisted at the time of 3 single rooms (2 with double beds and 1 with en-suite) and 3 rooms with single beds (2 of these rooms had bunk beds which would be perfect for kids and another had its own bathroom)

Lounge was open and very accommodating, with large sofas, TV with numerous English channels, blue tooth enabled sound bar and docking station, which we used a lot when cooking and generally relaxing in the evening! The kitchen was pretty much home from home, with a large dining table that would easily seat 10 or more and enough plates, cups and utensils to feed the entire town! .

The views were picturesque from the front, neighbours were pretty quiet and it was a 2 minute drive to the nearest ski lift in the main town of St Martins.

Over all, it was as described on this website when we first started to look for a place to stay.

10/10 : ))

The property was very spacious, well equipped and comfortable .

  • 4 of 5

We had a fantastic week in January 2017. The group consisted of oldies and young adults and the accommodation had plenty of room for us all. We ate in most of the time and we were happy to stay in and play games or watch films. The facilities were very good- plenty of bathrooms , super kitchen equipment and good tech ( wi-if) etc. The only slight downside was that the distance from the slopes was rather further than we thought and it would have been quite inconvenient if we had not had transport. There is a ski bus but we did not see it very much and it would have been quite restrictive. As it was we had a vehicle that could transport everyone to the slopes in a few minutes and the car park was spacious and free of charge so it was not an issue. The links to the main ski areas were easily accessible with no queues in the morning.

All in all it was a wonderful week. I would definitely go back to this chalet again.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your lovely review Teresa - so glad you enjoyed your stay! We do recommend a car to our guests, but a few fit/brave ones prefer the walk! (The free bus stops twice in the morning and twice in the afternoon directly outside the chalet). Best wishes Louise

Perfect chalet for a couple of big families

  • 5 of 5

St Martin de Belleville

You’ve probably read about St Martin being the best-kept secret in the 3 Valleys: picturesque, friendly and more personal than the big resorts it neighbours. There are some great restaurants and a couple of fun bars of which everyone’s favourite is the P Bar. St Martin’s position on the piste map is one of its plus points. Not only are the queues short for the bubble that quickly connects you to Courchevel, Val Thorens, Méribel and Les Menuires but the ski home at the end of the day is truly wonderful: long, easy runs, with spectacular views that everyone will enjoy.

The Chalet

There are lots to recommend about this chalet, so I’ve listed all the things we loved. We stayed with another family, so 4 adults and 4 kids in total.

• The open plan kitchen, dining room, lounge is a fabulous space with a roaring wood burning stove fire. There are three big, comfy sofas so plenty of room for us all to hunker down and watch a movie.

• Well equipped kitchen, so much so that you don’t need to wait for the dishwasher to finish before you prepare the next meal: loads of plates, cutlery, pots, pans and most importantly wine glasses!

• Playroom. We loved our movie nights together with the kids but also loved having our own spaces too. They decamped to the large playroom with their phones, iPads and watched TV, whilst we drank wine upstairs. It was bliss.

• Nice sheets & towels and lots of them.

• Boot room. The garage has racks for all your skis and a boot warmer too.

• The view. It was wonderful to wake up to views over the mountain as the sun rose.

• Kids rooms. All our kids – aged 10-14 - loved sharing the two bunk bed rooms, which they said were very comfy.

• WIFI. Essential for the kids: great WIFI!

• Breakfast delivered. The owners arranged for us to have fresh bread and croissants delivered every morning, which was lovely.

• Top tips. The owners have been coming to St Martin for years so know the ski guides, the best equipment rental, restaurants etc. Just ask them – they’ll hook you up with everything you need. They couldn’t have been more charming or helpful.

• Location. It’s a 5-minute ride to the free car park, which is a stone’s throw from the bubble at the top of St Martin – the bars and restaurants are nearer the chalet and only a 10-minute walk away. Les Menuires is 20 mins away by car, so if you want to ski until the last lift in that part of the valley, it’s really easy to do so. There’s also a bus that connects the two.

In order of shortest transfer time to St Martin, the airports to fly to are:

Chambery – 1 hour

Grenoble – 2 hours

Lyon (Saint Exupery) – 2 hours

Geneva – 2 ½ hours

The journey from the channel ports is approximately 950km and takes about 9 hours. It is dual carriageway all the way to Moutiers and St Martin is 25 mins up the mountain from here.

The eurostar ski train leaves St Pancras or Ashford International on Friday evening, arriving in Moutiers early Saturday morning.

10 min walk into village

In the same valley as Les Menuires (10 min drive) and Val Thorens (20 min drive)

Telecabine and chair lift get you to the top of the mountain for a 15 min ski down into Meribel and beyond (Courchevel, La Tania etc)

Further Details:

At an altitude of 1450 m, Saint Martin de Belleville is a real postcard Savoyard village. Set within the fabulous Trois Vallées ski area (600 km, 180 ski lifts) it is a real village resort, but with all the access facilities, infrastructure and shops expected of an up-to-date winter sports resort.

It has everything you need in a ski resort - a selection of good ski & board hire shops, ski school, excellent child minding / creche facilities, and a choice of great aprés-ski bars and restaurants. There is also a supermarket, boulangerie / patisserie, butcher, bank, chemist, post office, and newsagent / tabac.

The excellent restaurants in St Martin have made it a favourite lunchtime stop for skiers based in the other Trois Vallées resorts and one of the highlights of St Martin is the last run home at the end of the day – you can be sure that the slopes will be quiet, peaceful, and in much better condition than runs back to any of the other resorts.

Recent investment has seen a modern 8 person telecabine linking to a fast 4 person chair – St Martin 1 & 2, taking you to an altitude of 2,400m in under 20 minutes. In fact there’s nowhere in the whole 2,500 hectares you can’t reach inside two hours.
