1)Apartment location was superb, easy to park on sea-front, seconds to closest shop/restaurants & 300 yds from sea-front. Great fun to barbeque on roof-top terrace with superb views out to sea & light-house. Great sound-system for my numerous CD's which found their way into our suit-case. We have stayed @ S'Algar previously 9 years ago & if anything resort is even prettier. We made use of free pool passes & used sports facilities adjacent to Saint Luis Hotel. Would definitely recommend to people that want a taste of Spanish village life with a close proximity to the sea.



Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, sightseeing, families with young children and romantic getaway

Everything included!

We could not have asked for a better apartment. The location was perfect; close to everything we needed-bakery;supermarket;the sea; pools. Although S'algar is a quiet location it had enough to offer our 3 lively boys to keep them busy . We were glad to have a car in the 2nd week just so we could explore the island a bit more.

The apartment had everything we needed and more! Richard and Lisa had thought of every possibility from beach umbrella to handwash. They were extremely helpful and not having to take towels was a god end!

Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a relaxing holiday in a beautiful location.

Nearest Airport : Mahon at 15 Kilometres Car: recommended

Special interest holidays:

Home to the well known S'Algar Scuba Diving School founded back in the 1980s they offer various packages from beginners to fully experienced.

Also situated in S'Algar is the Menorca Bowls Club this a private club which is situated in a beautiful setting surrounded by palm trees.

The Green is open everyday to holidaymakers, during the summer (except evenings and Sundays).

The club always welcomes any visitors who wish to join them.

The Menorca Cricket Club is situated in Biniparell, Sant Lluis about a 10 minute drive away.

Founded in 1985 by a small group of expatriates, they play every Wednesday and Saturday and players of all ages and ability are welcome to join them.

Back in S'Algar itself, you can find Mountain Biking, Kayaking, Tennis (with professional tuition if required), Mini Golf, Petanque, Football 7, Giant Chess and access to the local Spa and Gym.

Coast/Beach:

A 1 minute walk away is the S'Algar Seafront with it's sunbathing platform area and steps into the sea providing excellent Snorkelling.

A 15 min walk along the coastal path will lead you to the local village of Alcalfar, there you will find a small safe sandy beach perfect for the little ones. Hotel and Bars for refreshments.

To the top of S'Algar and a 10 min walk away, Cala Rafalet a tiny pretty inlet with Crystal Blue Waters, only to be reached on foot via an ancient woodland.

10 kms away from the main Mahon airport.

Distances:

With its various Bars, Cafes, Shops and Windmill, the local town of Sant Lluis is only 5km away.

The capital of the island, Mahon is 10km away.

Local buses run to San Luis and Mahón approximately four times a day. Mahón airport is approximately 15 minutes’ drive away.There is the picturesque Port of Mahon which has numerous bars and restaurants, well worth a visit to look at all the luxurious boats that are moored there. Great for night-life! but doesn't really get going until the early hours.

Further Details:

S’Algar can be found on the beautiful south coast of Menorca, the most easterly of the Balearic Islands and the second largest, measuring 701 square kilometres. Located in the centre of the western Mediterranean, and north of the remaining islands of the archipelago. The island is 50km long and at its widest point some 17 km across.

The local town of Sant Lluis has various banks, local shops and restaurants. Should you wish to do a larger supermarket shop there are plenty to choose from Binipreu, Mercadona, Hyper Centro and even Lidl located on the industrial estate in Mahon, these are all clearly visible on your way from the airport on the left hand side of the road.

For the more energetic, bicycles can be rented from the S'Algar Sports Club and there are various newly constructed cycle paths to take advantage of.

In S'Algar itself you can take advantage of Tennis, Crown Green Bowling, Mountain Biking, Kayaking, Mini Golf, Petanque, Football 7, Giant Chess and access to the local Spa and Gym.

S'Algar is also home to the long established S'Algar Diving School and a 10 min drive away is the Menorca Cricket Club.

However the Pool situated on the sea front at the S'Algar Sea Club has a minimum daily charge. A Childs Cot can be provided for an additional charge to accommodate Babies. Hair Dryer, Iron and Ironing Board are also provided. A complimentary welcome pack consisting of Bottled Water, Coffee, Tea, Milk, Sugar and the compulsory bottle of Wine is provided. Any other items can be requested and added, at an additional cost. Outside: Balcony area over looking the village square with Table and Four Directors Chairs a Retractable Sun Awning and Weber Gas Barbeque.
