Skyview Cottage has 2 bedrooms and is part of a 18th century converted stone barn that sleeps 4, so is good for families or couples. Situated with other holiday cottages sharing a communal area to the front this provides a great space for children to play and adults to socialise if they wish. The cottage has its own private enclosed garden to the rear with table, chairs and bbq. Downstairs there is an open plan kitchen, lounge and dining area. House trained dogs are welcome with the proviso that they are not left in the cottage alone. There is ample parking for 2 cars. This is a good place to explore North Cornwall.

About Mr Anthony Hall

We have been coming to North Cornwall for the past 14 years and have spent many a happy time with our family in and around the Rock/Polzeath Area. We have a dog called Poppy who loves to come with us and enjoy the lovely long cliff top and beach walks. We all enjoy sailing and surfing so this is an ideal location for us all. We originally started off making sandcastles on the beach with our young family and friends. Now they have grown up, they bring their friends and still enjoy all the that the area has to offer.

Why Mr Anthony Hall chose North Cornwall

After having many a happy time in this area we decided we wanted to have a permanent place to come to. It is a short drive to all the activities we enjoy and there is also the ruggedness and natural wildness that Cornwall is known for. We like that you can be with people if you want to be or find a quiet peaceful place if you don't.

What makes this cottage unique

For us it is that you have sailing, surfing, shops, beaches all within 4 miles of the property. We also like that we have a large communal area for children to play in while parents can relax with a cup of tea or glass of wine on the seating provided or watch from inside the cottages knowing they are safe.

Notes:
Notes on accommodation: The main accommodation is open plan with comfortable furnishings. Each room has a thermostatic controlled radiator and double glazing. A well behaved dog is welcome but is not allowed upstairs and must be kept on a lead when in the grass communal areas. Outside: There is a small private garden to the back of the property which is enclosed by a fence. In the garden there is a picnic table and chairs and use of a bbq. To the front of the property there is a bench which faces out to the large communal area. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels are not provided. The property is cleaned once a week and bedlinen is provided.

Lovely, well equipped house in a great setting.

We had a great week, the perfect base to explore as much, or as little, of Cornwall as you would like to. Fantastic beach only a couple of miles away in Rock.

The house is really well equipped to a high standard with everything we needed.

Coast/Beach:

Rock with its sailing and water skiing is 3 miles and is 6 minutes by car. Daymer Bay is a lovely family beach and is 4 miles and 10 minutes drive. The famous surfing beach at Polzeath is 4 miles and is 10 minutes by car. The pretty fishing village of Port Issac made famous by Doc Martin is 12 minutes by car.

Travel:

It is recommended that you would need a car to get the best from this location. Newquay is the nearest airport to St. Minver and is 18 miles away and takes half an hour. Bodmin Parkway is the nearest main Railway station and is 15 miles and takes half an hour.

Further Details:

There is a small selection of shops in Rock which include a butchers, bakers, post office, newsagent and convenience stores as well as a petrol station with a cash point There are a few other shops and a number of restaurants which includes the well known chef Nathan Outlaw at the St Enodoc Hotel. Sailing and water skiing tuition are available in Rock as well as sea fishing trips. A ferry runs daily from Rock and can take you over the Camel estuary to the well known fishing village of Padstow where there is a larger selection of shops and restaurants. Padstow is known for its colourful May day celebrations 'obby oss'. The well known Rick Stein restaurants are in Padstow, as well as quite a few other good restaurants. You can catch the water taxi back from Padstow to Rock if you wish to make an evening of it.

When the tide is out you can walk around the beach from Rock to Daymer Bay which is a large beach with sand dunes overlooking the Camel Estuary. If you continue around the bay you will eventually come to Polzeath where there is a small range of shops and restaurants. Here you can body board or hire a surfboard by the hour, lessons to surf are also available.

Wadebridge is a 10 minute journey and there is a much wider range of shops supermarkets, banks and cinema. You can also hire bikes here to enjoy the Camel Trail.

For art lovers there are a number of galleries within the surrounding areas. If you want to go further a field there is St Ives with the Tate Gallery and Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Gardens these are an hour and a quarter drive away. Eden is approximately 40 minutes.

There are many more attractions for guests to discover and experience while visiting here.

Booking Notes:
20% booking deposit is required, payable at time of booking. The remaining balance is payable six weeks prior to your arrival, in addition there is a £100 breakage deposit which is payable with your final payment and will be refunded once the caretaker has completed a check of the property.

Changeover Day:
In the high session Saturday is the preferred changeover day. Guests are free to arrive after 3.00 pm and we require them to have vacated the property by 10.00 am on the date of departure. Short breaks are available on request.

Prices are provided on a weekly basis. Off season, we are happy to discuss pricing for shorter breaks and different change over days upon request
