Villa in Binibeca, Menorca, Balearic Islands - Tranquil Location, Just 7 Minutes Walk From The Beach

This fantastic 7 bedroom villa is spacious and airy. Set within tranquil grounds in an elevated, peaceful position and just a short walk away from the beach. There are terraces with sun or shade at all times of the day and an imposing pool, set within the lawned gardens. There is a large, covered, outside dining terrace with teak tables and chairs and built in barbecue overlooking the sea. In other areas, a rattan table and chairs offers a quiet spot to sit and ponder the meaning of life. The villa is beautifully presented and is light and airy. The kitchen is open to the living room and fitted with high end appliances together with a purified drinking water system and Nespresso coffee machine. The sitting room is fitted with SKY TV including movie channel and sports, DVD, stereo and free Wifi internet (throughout the villa). The whole villa is noiselessly air conditioned. There is a large games room with table tennis and pool tables. The main villa has 5 bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms and a further 2 interconnecting bedrooms each with en-suite shower rooms are situated beneath the main terrace. The prices quoted are for 7 room occupancy however we may be able to offer a discounted rate at certain times of the year if all rooms are not required.

About Tom Gordon

My wife and I have 5 children (some now gown up with children of their own!) We live in England in a very old farmhouse in Dunsfold and so it it lovely to have the contrast of La Calera. We run a small residential property company in England called Fulham Property Company. We both enjoy house planning and interior design and next we would like to buy a ski chalet in Les Gets for winter holidays in the Alps.

Why Tom Gordon chose Sant Lluís

We have been coming to Menorca for the last 25 years. We have probably stayed in most of the villas in and around Binibeca and so we knew what we were looking for when we decided to buy. When we saw La Calera we instantly were drawn to its peaceful disposition, the sense of space and it's views out to sea. Whilst the villa is currently very comfortable we are planning to carry out extensive refurbishment work over this winter, including re-furnishing the property to create a really beautiful and comfortable environment for our family and guests. We think that Binibeca is the jewel in the crown of Menorca. Then whole surrounding area is a mass of glorious beaches and coves, some only accessible by sea.

What makes this villa unique

The main benefit is the space and location. it's close enough to the beaches to easily walk, but far enough away to feel private and not overlooked. The property is built on a double plot so there is plenty of garden space and places to sit if you want to just be by yourself. We have also just bought the plot in front to preserve our view and we plan to create an access through from the villa so that is can serve as a second driveway. We plan to plant do a bit of landscaping and plant fruit trees there later this year.

Outside: The villa overlooks the large double garden which surrounds the property with steps leading down to one of the largest private heated swimming pools in Menorca. The gentle slope and limited depth of the pool make it ideal for young children and adults alike. The owners have also purchased the undeveloped plot in front of the property to preserve the view and privacy. Utility Room: Dedicated utility room with sink, washing machine and tumble drier. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Egyptian cotton bed linen, goose feather & down pillows, 4.5 tog duvets, soft and fluffy towels, luxury 1000 pocket sprung mattresses provided in every room (please bring your own beach towels). The villa is cleaned with linen & towel change weekly. Other: Games/Exercise room with table tennis and pool table, dart board, 2 bicycles and bench press.

Incredible Villa, five star luxury

We stayed at la Calera as a celebration holiday for my parents Golden wedding anniversary, 16 of us in total ranging from 1 to 71!

The villa is extremely beautiful with gorgeous, tasteful furnishings and each room is what you would expect if you were to stay in a 5 star hotel.

The swimming pool is huge with lots of loungers surrounding it, we rarely ventured out as we had everything we needed for the whole family at the Villa.

The older children loved the games room whilst the younger ones played endlessly in the little play house which gave a great shady space for them.

Overall we loved everything and would love to return one day.

Truly stunning villa in a great location

This is a truly stunning villa and we loved so much about it. The villa was beautifully furnished in a comfortable yet understated elegant way. The pool was a great size for a large group and wonderful also for serious swimming. The bedrooms were all extremely comfortable and it was so lovely going away in a group of 11 (we had some singles and some doubles but absolutely everyone was happy with their rooms). The games room was also very well used and the second large fridge was fabulous. As with most things it is all in the small detail and that is what made this a really great place to holiday. Unusually this is somewhere we would come back to again. The kitchen is well stocked with enough crockery and glassware (with good size G&T glasses). The fact that the kitchen was so well equipped made it so much easier catering for a large group.There were also comfortable beds, good quality pillows, a great stereo and even a choice of sun hats!

In addition Tom and Sally-Anne were extremely attentive to our needs from the moment that we booked but also throughout our stay.

PS the photos don't do it justice and you really are a very short walk to all that you can possibly need.

A little bit of Minorcan heaven.

A superb villa in a quiet location facing the sea with wonderful views. A fantastic pool and gardens with lots of places to idle the day away. A short stroll to the village with a good supermarket, bakery and bars/restaurants. Also within easy driving distance of of Mao with its shops and bars and excellent restaurants plus El Castell where it is always a treat to return to Trebol and savour their excellent fish. Binibeca Vell beach is also only a short walk away and the village itself has some good restaurants especially for tapas. The villa is well equipped with everything you could possibly need and is spotless. We had a magnificent two weeks here and were reluctant to return home. Thank you Tom and Sally for allowing us to hire your little bit of heaven.

A Stunning Villa

We travelled as a party of ten retired ladies. La Calera is a superb villa which exceeded our expectations. It is in a quiet residential area and set in a large well cared for garden that leads down to the peaceful coastal road. The village shop and restaurants are close by.. It is not far to walk to the beach. The villa and grounds overlook the sea....wonderful.

The property is well designed and mostly on one level. All rooms are tastefully decorated and well maintained. The living area leads out to a fantastic covered terrace which is perfect for meals and drinks with family or friends. There is a large bbq with cooking tools provided. There is a very efficient air-con system throughout. The kitchen is equipped with everything you will need and there is a large fridge in the games room in addition to the one in the kitchen. There is plenty of space for a large party, both in the villa and outside. Lots of little areas to sit in the shade and enjoy some solitude if you want.

The pool area is gorgeous with ample loungers.. The pool itself is very large and inviting.

We had cause to call on the services of Redorka, the maintenance company, when one of my friends had to be rescued from her bathroom when the door handle mechanism broke. The company provided a swift and efficient service.

Tom, the owner, offers excellent customer service and answers any queries promptly. He was very helpful.

La Calera is a great choice for a large family or group of friends. It has everything you need for an enjoyable holiday. If you appreciate comfort and luxury, this is the villa for you. Highly recommended!

Outstanding villa

We were a party of 15 staying at la Callera . We all had the most fantastic holiday ! The villa is truly beautiful , with fabulous views of the sea . No detail has been spared , the decor , the facilities are outstanding . We loved the space that is provided , especially for such a big party . The pool is magnificent , all 15 of us played games together without feeling cramped . The games room was a real bonus , and much used . The kitchen was excellent , and we ate on the glorious terrace which was lovely and spacious . The area is peaceful , but conveniently close to amenities . The beach is truly less than a 10 minute walk . All in all it is impossible to fault La Calera . I'm in no doubt we shall return one day ! Thank you to the owners also for making all our arrangements so easy .

Comforts of home in paradise

La Calera was even better than expected from the photos and descriptions. I rented the villa for my 40th birthday and it couldn't have been more comfortable and relaxing for my guests. The bedrooms and bathrooms are clean and comfortable with quality linens and furnishings. The kitchen was well-appointed and a pleasure to cook in. The pool was perfection. I was amazed at the little details that are included - recommendations and services, pool toys and inflatables, food and wine in the welcome package on arrival, etc. La Calera immediately felt like home. Tom and Sally Anne were also incredibly friendly and easy to work with. I can't say enough wonderful things about our experience at La Calera.

The property is set back less than a minutes walk from the coast.

Binibeca beach, arguably the best in Menorca is just 7 minutes walk away home to the Buccaneros beach bar set beside the crystal clear water serving good food at reasonable prices.


Mahon airport is 15 minutes drive from the villa. There are plenty of taxis on the island and places to hire cars.


5 minutes walk from the villa are various other restaurants and bars overlooking the sea, including Bar Paupa which is set beside a slipway surrounded by bobbing boats. From here you can also take scuba diving trips.

The famous fishing village, Binibeca Vell, is a 15 minute walk away with it's numerous restaurants and shops.

There are various shops within 5 minutes walking distance including a well stocked (but small) supermarket, a bakery serving fresh baked breads and pastries and numerous restaurants all overlooking the sea.

To book a reservation we require a 20% deposit with the balance due 8 weeks before date of arrival. A returnable security payment of £300 is made which is repayable two weeks after return from the villa.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is usually a Friday. You can move in from 16.00 once cleaning is complete. Luggage can be left in the games room if required. The property needs to be vacated by 11.00 to allow for cleaning.
