Large Villa in Ginoles, Quillan, Aude, Languedoc-Roussillon, Fance Tranquil Location In The Heart Of Cathar Country

Villa de Fleur is in a semi secluded location on the hill just below the village of Ginoles. It is close to Quillan, around 3 Km away, Carcassonne 55 Km, the beach at Narbonne 71 Km, only 100 Km from Andorra, and 270 Km from Barcelona. There are shops and bars and restaurants in the village and also in nearby Quillan. The Villa is an ideal place to get away from it all. It’s location also makes it the perfect base for outdoor activities or cultural holiday. There are 2000 Km of well maintained walking/hiking paths to explore, and take in the magnificent mountain scenery, either by foot, horse, cycling, and even mountain climbing and caving. There are rivers and lakes that provide fishing, canoeing, kayaking and white water rafting. Or if you prefer a more relaxed holiday, there are Museums and Historical Cathar Castles to visit, along with numerous festivals and events, or just pamper your self at Rennes-les-Bains, or one of the other many nearby spas.

Nestled in the hillside just above the small but quaint town of Quillan, and just below the sleepy village of Ginoles, this beautiful well appointed villa, provides the perfect holiday home to explore the stunningly beautiful Aude Valley and the Languedoc-Roussillon region.

The Villa comprises of:

Downstairs: 3 double bedrooms and a bedroom with a bunk bed and two open plan lounges, 2 bathrooms/showers, two kitchen/dining areas, several patio areas, the main of which leads onto a large private swimming pool. (the pool is open from end of March until November).

An upstairs master bedroom (available as an optional extra £105 per week): A very spacious upstairs double bedroom with en suite bathroom, en suite toilet, a large double bed, a walk-in wardrobe and a south-facing balcony providing unparalleled views of the mountains!

The villa itself is set within one acre of grounds, and provides magnificent mountain views all round. There is a small fruit private orchard, located within the grounds containing apple, pear and cherry trees from which you are more than welcome to help yourself, as well as a large lawn area allowing for ball games and other fun activities.

We are a 50 something professional business couple, who while travelling through France, discovered this exceptionally beautiful place and fell in love with it immediately. For me it was the views and the location, and having spent some time in the RAF mountain rescue, I looked forward to exploring the caves and walking in the mountains. For my wife it was the nearby beaches, and the proximity to Spain. We purchased the land in 2000, and started building in the summer of 2009 with the eventual plan of retiring here. Unfortunately the pressures of work mean that we are not able to get away as often as we would like. So until we can go more regularly, we would like to share our house and this wonderful part of France with you.

We have had a fabulous time in your beautiful house and thank you for the privilege.

Having holidaying in villas in the South of France for the past few years this houseis far superior to any we have had rented in the past.

Pauline and I think this villa should be in the £1000+ category.

Quillan is a lovely town some nice bars and restaurants and everyone is very friendly. The Terminus bar seems to be the busiest and you can sit and watch the world go by.

We greatly enjoyed our all-too-brief Holiday in this lovely Villa. Amazing views from both living rooms and the terrace, and were a treat. Plenty of space for a family, fabulous pool & spectacular views. The kitchens are well equipped, and we had some great BBQ's & dinners in the terrace The pool water is lovely and warm, I recommend a midnight dip under the stars!

Notes on accommodation: The house has electric radiators throughout. The property is laid out over 1 floor with stairs leading down to the pool area. The property is suitable for children, but as with all young/small children care should be taken with stairs and steps, as well as around the pool area. Outside: The gardens around the house are private, there is a brick built barbecue area, and a small orchard containing, apple, pear, olive and cherry trees. Please help yourself! Utility Room: Washing machine Broadband Internet with 2 Wifi Routers, 1 French, and 1 UK internet connection (VPN for BBC iPlayer, Channel 4OD, ITV player and Demand 5 access from outside the UK). Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Face & bath towels, bed linen, along with a Welcome Pack are included in the price. Guests are advised to bring Beach towels. The maid service is included in the price we ask you to leave the Villa clean and tidy Other: Outdoor private pool, accessed from main patio and from both Living Rooms

Beautiful villa with amazing views

Very spacious villa with amazing views. We stayed here with my eldest son and his fiance and my middle son. There was enough room for my eldest son to have a complete apartment to their selves. The scenery is absolutely stunning from the villa and we was lucky enough with the very hot weather and clear skies to see the Milky Way on most nights along with shooting stars. The little town of Ginoles is quaint and has some amazing eating places. Would love to return.

This was a return to the property after staying there for 2 weeks in June last year. as we had not fully explored the region we could think of no better place to stay to continue sight seeing in this part of France- well why would you when the villa is exceptional, not only in it's locality but with all the amenities it has to offer. If you're looking for a place to stay in the Langudeoc/Pyrenees area, look no further. - Please see my review written June 2015.

An absolutely stunning villa!

We had initially booked two weeks at the Villa de Fleur but we loved it so much we booked an extra two weeks while we were there. The villa is spotlessly clean and has everything you could possibly want. We met Flory while we were there and she is a lovely lady, very friendly and hospitable.

The scenery and the mountain views are to die for, you'd be hard pressed to find a better location. The gardens are beautiful and if you have your dog with you as we did, then the perimeter is fully sealed so your dog can safely roam the grounds without any worries.

Thanks Nick and Flory for a truly memorable holiday. We will be back in 2016, in fact already booked again.

WOW- this villa is stunning. We've been hiring properties in France for the last 13 years and this place deserves 7 star rating! I whole heartedly agree with the comments made by the previous guest. We had the fortune to meet Flory, the owner, over there when she came to do some gardening- a lovely lady and she gave us some very useful info - as did Julie who met us upon arrival. Having Wi-Fi and the use of a lap top came in very handy for checking weather and was full of useful info on the surrounding area in helping to plan for days out.

Spectacular villa in spectacular setting !

Just arrived back from a gorgeous weeks stay at this Villa, spotlessly clean and very spacious with stunningly beautiful 360 views - really did not want to come home ! I am usually very critical of places we stay with cleanliness in particular but everything was immaculate - the pool was just as clean. The location of the villa is above the village and so the view from every window is unspoilt beautiful mountains. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a peaceful holiday, thank you so much xxx

There is a swimming lake at Belcaire (27km). This is a lovely clean lake with sandy beaches. The coast at Perpignan is about an hour's drive.


Ferries run daily to Roscoff, Le Harve, Cherbourg, Calais and Dunkirk, and Ginoles can be reached in about 9-10 hours. There is a wide choice of local airports served by low cost carriers. Carcassonne (50 mins), Perpignan (90 mins) Toulouse (90 mins) and Girona, Spain (2 hours) Car rental is available at all airports.


Quillan, a smallish town with most amenities is just 3Km away, down in the valley.

Booking Notes:
The upstairs master bedroom is available as an optional extra £105 per week,
Once we have been contacted with a booking request, we will reserve the Villa for the dates requested for 1 week, pending receipt of a 20% non refundable booking deposit.
The balance is payable at least 4 weeks prior to the arrival date. Bookings made within 4 week of the arrival date require payment in full.
Please note that the upstairs master bedroom is available as an upgrade of an additional £105 per week.

Changeover Day:
Change over day is normally Saturday, however we are willing to be flexible. Access on day of arrival is from 3:00 pm (15:00), & return of key by 10:00 am in the morning on day of departure.
