Just steps from the village square, our 2 bedroom apartment has all the modern comforts of a newly built home - Enjoy views of the village, botanical gardens, mountains and sunsets from the spacious lounge or generous private wrap-around balcony. Easy connections to the ski lifts via the Express Telecabine (only 800m from your apartment) that whisks you up to 1600m to enjoy the 265km of the Grand Massifs interesting and varied ski slopes. Or, access an expansive network of cross-country trails directly from the village itself. Summer activities for all ages and levels include walking/hiking, rock climbing, mountain & road bikes for hire, parapente, rafting, horse riding, swimming, tennis, adventure parks and more. The apartment comfortably accommodates a family of 4 or 5, or 2+ couples, and features a separate shower, WC, ski locker, parking garage, lift. The well-apportioned dining/living areas allow space for varied activities/entertainment for adults and kids as you wind down from an active day!

About Peter

My wife and I bought this lovely apartment while based in Geneva. Our two kids became excellent skiers on the slopes here over the past 4 seasons and we enjoyed lovely hikes in the neigbouring nature reserve... We have since moved from the area but look forward to coming back to Samoens often! We hope you will enjoy the area as much as we have and look forward to sharing this special place with you!

Why Peter chose Samoëns

This area has everything for the outdoor enthusiast. We love skiing, but also hiking and I am a keen road cyclist. Samoens provides unique access to ALL of these activities within easy range of a convenient international airport and yet retains its rustic charm of a fully functioning traditional French village.

What makes this apartment unique

We looked for a property in Samoens for 3 years before deciding on this one! It met all of our requirements for quality, energy efficiency, proximity to town and services, views and adequate living-space, recognizing that we would not be able to be there full time and wanted to have a great experience when we can come!

Notes on accommodation: This small (8 units), privately developed chalet was built in 2012 to high standard. This first floor apartment features large 23m2, west-facing, living and dining room with each with full-height windows/doors, window door, accessing a generous 12m2 private balcony, with beautiful views of the village, botanical gardens, and mountains. All furnishings are new (2012/13) and the beds are all 200cm (good for taller guests!). There is a double bedroom (160x200cm bed) with a built-in wardrobe with ample storage space, a second bedroom with a single bunk (90x200) and double bed (140x200), dresser and wardrobe. The modern kitchen is well stocked and includes a full sized oven, electric hob/range, fridge/freezer, washing machine and dishwasher. The expandable oak table seats 6-8. The lounge features a corner, sleeper sofa (140x200), armchair, coffee table, TV, DVD player and DVDs, XBOX console and games. Towels and linens. Kindly note that the apartment is non-smoking. Outside: The large private balcony is equipped with table and chairs with cushions for al fresco dining or just enjoying a glass of wine and the sunset! Utility Room: Ski Locker, underground park garage Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and Bed-linens are provided, as well as, end of stay cleaning service (however, guests are requested to leave the unit clean at departure). For longer stays, cleaning services and linens can provided at additional intervals to be negotiated. Other: The dining area has a table for 6 (bench and 4 chairs). There is a small buffet. Balcony - table & 6 chairs. New! for April 2014 and beyond, we have just added Wifi capability in the apartment.

Fabulous family apartment in Samoens

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Lewis' apartment in Samoens. The apartment is very clean, well equipped and only a few minutes walk from the village. Access to the slopes is very easy only a few minutes away in the car. The village has some really great bars and places to eat and its certainly somewhere we would return to. Great place, thank you Peter.

Fabulous Family Holiday Apartment

We stayed for a week at the apartment in Samoens this Easter and had a fantastic time. The apartment is ideally situated within a three minute walk of the town centre with its restaurants, bars and shops and a five minute drive to the Samoens Telecabin. We found the accommodation to be very comfortable, well equipped and quiet with lovely views from the balcony. The underground car park and lift were especially useful. We thoroughly recommend the apartment for a family holiday as there is so much to do in the local area. We definitely plan to return next year.

Superb location in Samoens

Peter's apartment is in an ideal location, about 150 metres from the square. Sitting on the balcony, watching the sun descend behind the mountains, you are looking across an open field to the church and the town hall beside the square.

The village cats provide great entertainment as they stalk the moles and voles that live in the turf. One morning we saw three deer on the grassy hill 40 metres away.

The apartment is well equipped for self-catering and a really good sofa bed boosts the sleeping space. The living area has plenty of space for six people.

The bedrooms are a bit small and there is only one loo - but the apartment and location are so nice that you forgive that.

We stayed four weeks and were sad to leave.

Appartement bien équipé et fonctionnel !

Nous avons passé une excellente semaine pour le nouvel an 2016. L'appartement est particulièrement bien situé avec les commerces à proximité et un petit train qui vous emmène au pied du GME.

Il est également très bien agencé. Nous étions 5 pendant la semaine mais avons pu être assis à 8 pour le réveillon sans problème.

Beautiful apartment

This is a beautiful apartment with everything you need for a great skiing holiday, including good shower and comfy beds. We had masses of snow and even our drive was cleared so we could get to the lifts easily by car. Thoroughly recommend Samoens and this apartment

Special interest holidays:

Summer time in the Haute Savoie is fantastic for Cycling - especially if you like climbing! Mountain biking is also a huge attraction in the area. Road, Mountain , and electric assist mountain bikes can be rented in the village.


The Giffre River runs through the valley and rafting and kayaking is offered. There is also an open-air swimming complex in Samoens with breathtaking views of the surroundings.


Samoens is just an hour drive from Geneva International Airport, 1.5-2 hours from Lyon. 30 minutes from Cluses Train Station. Taxi or transfer services are available. Once in Samoens, no car is needed. Should you choose to drive, interior parking is available.


While it is difficult to cover all of the Grand Massif's slopes in one season, guests wishing to sample other resorts can sample Chamonix (1 hour), Megeve (1 hour), or the Portes du Soleil, linking 12 French and Swiss stations, including neighboring Les Gets (35 minutes), Morzine, and Avoriaz. The Italian resort of Courmayeur is about 1hr 15mins away via the Mt Blanc Tunnel.

Visit beautiful Lake Annecy and region as well as the many attractions of Geneva and surroundings (1 hour).

Further Details:

Walk just two minutes to shops, restaurants, bars, and supermarkets. Post Office, Bank and ATM are on the way! Everything you need is at your feet! A weekly market (Wednesday, all year) offers everything French. Evening programmes in the main square, and excellent views of the fireworks from our balcony!

Wonderful local Savoyard specialties available throughout the year. Eat out, cook in or cater in.
