The property is an attractive grade 2 listed barn conversion with oak beams and high ceilings and located on the village Green in the conservation area of this typical Oxfordshire village. Light floods in through the windows and patio doors. It is in a peaceful location and overlooks the large, attractive garden. There is parking next to the property. The bedroom is on a beamed mezzanine area overlooking the lounge/ dining room. There is a kitchen and shower room.
We live in Oxford, England with our two teenage sons. We moved back here after living for 5 years in Tenerife, where we renovated our property. We were only planning to go for 2 years!, but we loved the island so much, the fantastic climate, outdoor lifestyle, Spanish way of life and it was great for the kids who can now sail and surf.
The Barn is in the grounds of our own property. It is grade 2 listed and in the conservation area of the village. The house and barn were previously owned by Queens College and date back to the fifteenth Century.
It is a great place to live on a hill overlooking Oxford.
The Owner purchased this barn in 1998
We bought the farm house and barns as a renovation project. It was a challenge, liveable but in need of a lot of updating and the barns were original farm buildings with corrugated roofs! The area was perfect for us countryside but only 10/15 minutes from Oxford.
Enjoyed four night's stay at this well appointed Barn Conversion. The lounge area and mezzanine bed were extremely comfortable. Kitchen and shower room small but adequate. The added bonus was that we were able to use the owners' beautiful garden on this sunny weekend. It is well situated for the Park and Ride into Oxford and local amenities. Even has a good pub right next door, which we ate in on our first night.
A wonderful location for a brief stay. Julie greeted us upon arrival and provided essentials in the kitchen. The barn is more spacious than the vrbo advert suggests, and it is very well appointed. A private parking spot is about 8 feet from the front door, and a lovely patio and garden are just outside glass double doors. There is a pub right nextdoor and a bus stop within a walk of perhaps 3 minutes. We hope to return to Hill Farm, and we strongly recommend it to other travelers.
Excellent open plan accommodation in the quiet little village of Garsington with all the modern conveniences. The owner Julie was frendly and most helpful in giving us a few tips on places of interest. As mentioned by other guests, the provision of some groceries was a nice touch. Definitely reccomended
What a wonderful place to stay. A cosy little space for the two of us in a brilliant setting. Julie was there to give us a warm welcome and the place had all we needed for a long weekend. The weather was great and we sat and ate breakfast on the patio. Will look to come back again.
We booked a weekend in this pretty converted barn on the outskirts of Oxford, and we were very impressed! The barn is spacious for two people, very clean, and with everything we could need (including WiFi!). The kitchen had a the stuff we needed to cook a lovely meal on the first night, and Julie (the owner) left us a welcome pack with milk, bread, butter, jam etc for breakfasts while we were there. A great village location, with plenty of local pubs nearby. I'd love to visit again! Thanks Julie :-)
The barn was an absolute treat tucked away in a lovely little village. Very tastefully decorated and very cosy. The welcome pack was also very helpful. Julie has obviously put significant effort into making the barn as welcoming as possible, and it shows!
