Luxury 3-bed room villa near charming San Pedro de Alcantara close to Marbella, a heated private pool, a gym with separate bathroom

This 3 bedroom villa, called La Candelaria, is newly renovated in a decorative Andalucian rustic style and offers indeed a special way of living. Its beautiful garden includes a heated pool, 10 m x 4 m, an airconditioned gym with a separate bathroom, a big lawn with various flower plants, palm trees, a big open fire place, veranda, patios, terrace, orange and lemon trees, old water fountains and other art works. The three bedrooms are placed in two buildings very close two each other. One building accommodates two double bedrooms and the other building accommodates one double bedroom.

The location is in a very peaceful hilly residential neighborhood but still just 10-15 min drive to the beaches, many high standard golfcourses, shopping districts, restaurants and bars in the charming villages of San Pedro de Alcantara, Puerto Banus and Marbella and Benahavis. Many interesting historical places are around: the old village of Ronda, the Al Hambra castle, Gibraltar cliff etc. During winter time the ski resort Sierra Nevada is two hours drive away.

The caretaker/gardener of this villa is living next door. He speaks fluently English and is available for driving, cleaning, cooking and lots of other things.

About Wilhelm Hemgren

My wife and I have moved back to our home country, Sweden, after having worked in various countries for more than 25 years. We spend lots of our free time in our paradise in the south of Spain. We bought this beautiful home in San Pedro de Alcantara, close to Marbella, about 20 years ago. Both of us really love exterior as well as interior design and therefore our paradise has been under careful renovation for many years. We have three grown up children, who like us love the south of Spain with its wonderful climate, friendly people, long beaches, restaurants and bars and of course high standard golf courses.

Why Wilhelm Hemgren chose Benahavís

We own this holiday home in this beautiful area near San Pedro since about 20 years. We love the location of the area as it is situated in a very isolated and peaceful area but still just 10 min drive to several beaches, to many high standard golf courses and to the restaurants and bars in Puerto Banus, Marbella and Benahavis. Within reasonable driving distances there are also the ancient town of Ronda, the historical Al Hambra castle and the ski resort Sierra Nevada.

You reach the area by less than an hour's drive from Malaga Airport.

What makes this villa unique

The two buildings on the property are built in a charming characteristic Andalucian rustic style. They are newly completely renovated and include all modern equipment, such as A/C in each room, kitchen and washing room facilities, several TV´s, a gym with TV and with a separate bathroom etc. Climbing on a hillside the garden is very attractive and includes besides the heated pool many special decoration details such as 3 old water fountains and other art work. The garden also offers several sitting areas in patios, verandas and sun decks.

We can also provide you with a range of services, such as cleaning, washing and driving to and from shops, restaurants etc.

Notes on accommodation: Bedroom no 1: One double bed with TV Bedroom no 2: One double bed Bedroom no 3: One double bed with TV Each bedroom has A/C and direct access to the garden. The sleeping capacity, 6 persons, can be increased by extra beds. Outside: The buildings are surrounded by a beautiful garden with water fountains and other special details. A central part of the garden is the heated private pool, size 10x4 meter. Under the pool an air conditioned gym with its own bathroom is located. Besides a big lawn the garden also includes an outdoor fireplace, outdoor terraces, roof covered verandas, patios and pergolas with sofas, sun chairs, tables and sun sheds. The veranda is very suitable for outdoor dining for 8 people. Utility Room: A washing machine is included in one of the bathrooms. Also a mangle can be arranged. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are included. The villa is cleaned once a week but more often if required. Garden work is done daily. Other: All rooms have air conditioning. Also an air conditioned gym is included. The villa is located in a very peaceful area and still just 10 min drive from the beaches, many high standard golf courses, restaurants, bars in Puerto Banus, San Pedro and Marbella.

A fantastic retreat

My wife and I booked here for a week in September with our baby daughter and two of our friends.

Villa Candelaria is a stunning villa with so much character. Everyday something different would catch your eye and make you smile. You can tell that years of love and attention have gone into this property.

The villa is delightful and incredibly well equipped, and the garden was the perfect place to relax.

Hameed welcomed us on arrival and was on hand to take us to a local restaurant if ever needed.

We couldn't have asked for anywhere nicer and would recommend to anyone.

You'll struggle to find a better outside space!

The inside is nice, but it's the garden and pool/BBQ area that make this villa really great. Loads of space for the kids to run around, plenty of shady spots (the cabana with grapes dangling from above was a particular favourite) and a spectacular pool - we hardly left the place in the 3 weeks we were there. And Hameed the housekeeper couldn't have been more helpful - an absolute gent.

Great location just a few minutes drive from Puerto Banus, Marbella and the charming Benahavis (the river walk is a must do..as are the many restaurants), we'll have fantastic memories of this place for many years to come...

A Year On

A year on , and we return back to La Candelaria for our summer vacation. I always love to travel, and visit new places each year, however La Candelaria is well worth me making an exception for, and returning for the second year...We simply love this villa, and everything about it, the beautiful design, stunning interior, and who has become our friend, Hameed the caretaker...It has everything you could wish for, and the artistic eye of the owners , leaves you with that feeling that you never want to leave...There are items from all over the world placed beautifully inside and out, which capture your imagination...The heated pool, is fantastic for an evening dip, and Hameed will get it to the temperature you desire, he will also be on hand if you need him, for just about anything, he really does make La Candelaria complete....I could not imagine why this Villa would get anything less than 5 stars...Thank you to the owners & of course Hammed .

Just perfect

I just read the other reviews and I can totally agree with the other guests about how wonderful this place is, it is magical! We spent there an Easter week and although there were heavy rains that week, we totally enjoyed. The heated pool was steaming in the rain cooled air and we spend ages in the warm water, the roses bloomed and smelled beautiful in the rain. Kitchen is also very good and we were grilling outside fresh shrimp and fish every evening. Our little daughter almost learned how to swim after spending most of the time swimming in the pool so this holiday was memorable also for her.

I warmly recommend this villa for your holiday, it feels like home!

Wonderful space

We stayed here for just under 3 weeks and it was a delightful holiday!!

We were a party of two adults and 3 teens and some of the time i adult and 4 teens and the outside space gave us all some to chill separately and spend time together. Its quirky decoration was a delight and the pool was very special i spent a lot of time in it .it was very reassuring to have Hamid so close by to guide us to different places and restaurants and sometimes take us Thank you

We have just returned from two weeks at La Canalderia . This villa is simply beautiful with large outdoor space with plenty of shade and a gorgeous heated pool which makes evening dips a must . The rustic style of the accommodation is beautiful and the space and facilities enabled us to have space and lots of relaxation .

Hameed the caretaker is simply wonderful and enhanced our stay by his kindness and help whenever we required it . This villa is magical and we loved our stay -really close to Puerto Banus which was great to visit day or night and 5 mins from the supermarket and San Pedro .

The villa is raised on the side of a hill and gives great views and a peaceful environment where you can really relax .

We have booked again for next year - we truly loved this place

From Malaga airport it takes about 1 hour by car. The distance is 68 km. We can provide a driver with car if needed.

There are many clean and nice beaches around:

- Beach of San Pedro de Alcantara, 3 km. Here there is a very nice promenade along the beaches of San Pedro and Puerto Banus.

- Beach of Puerto banus, 4 km

- Beach of Marbella, 10 km

- Beach of Estepona, 20 km

Many other beaches are located along the coast.

The village of Sotogrande on the road to Gibraltar must be mentioned here. Sotogrande has beautiful environments, a newly built harbor, excellent bars and restaurants, beaches and more.

Puerto Banus with many restaurants, bars and nightclubs, 4 km.

Marbella with lots of shopping central, 10 km

The gardener/caretaker lives next door. He speaks fluently English and is always available for clothes laundering, making the dishes and will be pleased to help with many other things.

Notes on prices:
The rates do not include transfers from/to Malaga Airport, electricity and telephone charges.
The price list is based on a 7 nights stay from arrival on a Saturday at 15.00 hrs to departure next Saturday at 12.00 hrs. Changes of this norm are accepted but may result in some extra costs.
Furthermore if more than six persons shall be accommodated there is an extra cost of 5 % per person above six.

Payment instruction:
The payment is normally done in two installments:
1. At booking: A booking deposit of 40% of the rental rate.
2. Minimum 14 days before arrival the following shall be paid:
- the remaining 60 %
- the security deposit of 200 EUR
- an electricity cost deposit of also normally 200 EUR
(Both at the arrival and at the departure the electric meter is read and the actual cost for electricity is calculated. The guest will then at departure be refunded/charged the balance between the deposit and the electricity cost).

Total refund of the booking deposit will be done if a cancellation is done min 2 months before scheduled arrival.
Half of the booking deposit will be refunded if the cancellation is done min 1 month before scheduled arrival.
No refund is done neither from the booking deposit nor the final balance (if that is paid) if a cancellation is done shorter than 1 month before scheduled arrival.

Manager's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date.
  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 60 days before check-in date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
