Wonderful week.

We have just returned from an amazing week at Simon and Lindsays house in the Valbonne area. The pictures on the website look great but the real thing is even better, The house is very well planned and extremely well appointed, We were with extended family and the house accommodated all our specific needs comfortably. The location is also superb being within easy reach of the coast, Nice airport and the Cote d'Azur area. It is also very private with a beautiful secluded garden.The whole process from booking to deposit refund was seamless and professionally executed, High recommended and will definitely return.

Perfect break

We are a family of 5 – with 3 early/ mid-teen kids. We stayed at the villa for two weeks.

The villa has been thoughtfully designed and is very open/ airy, with good modern features (good kitchen equipment, internet was fine, flat panel TVs, nice DVD collection, robust electronically operated security screens, etc). There is a lot of natural privacy and little noise - the adjacent road is extremely quiet re traffic and the neighbours during our 2 weeks were pretty quiet generally, and indeed silent after 9-10pm. The surrounding area is very nice, with Valbonne just up the road, and easy access to Antibes and the Cote D’Azur generally.

It was an unusually hot spell and the easy access to the pool was ideal. The pool is a good size and the use of salt as opposed to chlorine was a really nice touch – with a much more refreshing and natural feeling.

As hosts, Simon and Lindsey were just what you would hope for. They were professional in setting up the contract/ arrangements etc, and the arrival day went very smoothly. Crucially, they really made us feel like it was “our place” – there are other villas we’ve rented where the owners could be quite visible with regular attendance for one reason or another, but Simon and Lindsey just let us get on with it, which was appreciated. Similarly the checkout process was a “no fuss” and quick affair. The sense of trust they conveyed in us was palpable and really helped us to settle in quickly.

One of the standout points for me was Simon’s willingness to spend time making sure we were getting the most from the local area, especially the interior pre-Alps where the most amazing scenery awaits to be discovered. He combined this with his passion for cycling, and was very proactive in giving me guidance as to where to ride, and ultimately leading me on an unforgettable bike tour of the surrounding area. I get the impression that Simon could offer any level of tour depending on ability – our almost 5 hour, 100km ride was a real challenge for me, but something of a walk in the park for him...! Ultimately the vacation benefitted as I was then able to introduce (via car!) the family to the same sights.

We would highly recommend, and will certainly consider returning.

Absolutely amazing !!!

If your looking for a truly amazing villa, that is enough to be out of the way to be peaceful but still on the doorstep for things to do and see, then look no further! The villa is big, light and spacious. We are a family of 4 but had an extra guest. The downstairs annex is a real plus point to this villa, especially if anyone staying isn't that great with stairs. Everything is maintained to the highest standard/specification including the gardens and pool area. When searching on the internet for villa holidays, pictures can be very deceiving, but please be assured that the pictures of this property don't lie, it is truly as good as it looks! The owners Simon and Lindsey are wonderful, nothing is too much trouble and the correspondence with the booking and despots etc was unbelievably prompt and efficient, it really does make a huge difference to your holiday when everything runs smoothly, especially when you've never rented a villa before and don't know what to expect.

We loved every minute of our holiday, we really felt like it was home from home and can't wait to go back! We would highly recommend Simon and Lindsey's villa, for a stress free, stunning villa holiday, it offers everything you need and More!! See you next year xxxxx

We have just had a marvellous holiday in Simon and Lindsey's villa. The villa delivers what the pictures promise and a lot more. It is perfectly situated to explore the Cote d'Azur with lovely villages and fantastic beaches all within an easy drive. Inside the villa is spacious, airy, comfortable and well equipped. We were 2 families with 4 adults and 3 teenage boys and we all found the villa to be a perfect holiday destination. The boys loved the large garden and the fantastic pool. Simon and Lindsey are charming and went out of their way to ensure that we had everything we needed. We hope to be able to return in the not too distant future! Thank you Simon and Lindsey!

Review of stay at property ref: FR18631

We arrived at the villa in Biot ref: FR18631 and were greeted by Simon and Lindsey, both of whom were very welcoming.

The property was beautifully presented with excellent accommodation throughout with a excellent size pool and good views from the balcony.

The local facilities are very good with a supermarket and bakery with-in 1.5 miles for all your weekly food and other household products.

If you are a keen cyclist then the local and surrounding areas are excellent and with Simon the owner of the villa being a keen cyclist also kindly offered to take myself and my son on rides.

All in all the whole family found the stay really excellent and we were sad to leave.

Fabulous Villa!

We stayed for 4 days at the villa, and it was absolutely fantastic. The location is great. Set a short car journey outside of Nice, in very quiet surroundings, it is ideally placed for exploring local attractions, yet a safe haven in the evenings, away from the throng.

The villa itself is spacious and airy. Plenty of living space, and a large well-equipped kitchen. A beautiful terrace area for evening BBQs and al fresco dining. And all the bedrooms are light and airy.

The swimming pool is great. With a lovely paved area surrounding it, and a shaded area as well. The garden is lovely, with tall Cyprus type trees.

We had a fab break, combining cycling with local markets, beaches, great food, and local bars. Thank you so much! We will be back.

We chose the Alpes Maritimes as our home because of its unique combination of diverse attributes: Climate and vibrantly coloured landscapes; stunning scenery and proximity of the Mediterranean, Mountains, Italy, and numerous local beautiful towns and villages each with their own distinct personality. We were smitten by the location of the property because of the stunning beauty of the area (edge of the national park), the prestigious, established feel of the domaine; its central location between the idyllic medieval villages of Biot and Valbonne whilst still being only 20 minutes from the marinas of Antibes, the Film star style of Cannes, and Italian influenced architecture of Nice.

Activity and Interests

Special interest holidays:

The area is highly prized by cyclists given its proximity to the Alpes, and is used as a training base by many professional cycling teams in the winter months due to its mild climate. The owner is a keen cyclist and organises luxury cycling holidays in the spring to early summer, and is therefore well placed to advise on routes should this be of interest. Particular local events catered for include the France Ironman Triathlon (including reconnaissance trips), numerous cyclo sportives and Nice Marathon.


The nearest beaches are situated 10 minutes away by car. But can also be reached by local bus. Buses run regularly between the property, Valbonne, Biot and Antibes and are relatively cheap. The bus stop is 200m from the property.

The property was designed in the Provencal/Tuscan style with modern open plan flow and high ceilings. 4 large bay windows open into the walls (Galandage) to allow the large living areas to merge seamlessly with broad external terraces and gardens and ensure the inside is bright and airy yet protected from the summer heat. The upper floor bedrooms all access the large balcony offering sea and open country views, while the ground-floor bedroom/studio flat has direct access to the garden. The villa was designed to accommodate our large extended family's holidays with each bedroom having its own bathroom. The swimming pool, garden and games-room happily occupy the kids while the adults chill. The modern interior is adorned with artwork and furniture collected during our time in Asia.
