Beautiful Cottage.. Perfect Getaway !
Just arrived home from our stay at Wren Cottage, already we are tempted to book in again. We arrived late in the evening but had a warm friendly welcome from Gay, gave us a tour of the cottage and the easy access to the private gate to the River Parrett and huge fields that my dog adored running free in. We really cannot rate this cottage highly enough!! Fresh bread, Butter, Wine and Flowers was a lovely welcome gift and made us feel right at home. We ventured out to the local Cider Orchards, Somerton, Cheddar Gorge, Clarks Shopping Village & many more places! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay! Victoria, Andy and Holly Dog.
Cottage done to a very high standard gay and Steve gave us a very warm welcome every thing we needed was there thank you so much would recommend a stay in this lovely warm cottage
Beautiful Cottage in a lovely village
Well what can I say from start to finish this holiday was perfect. We were met by Gay and given a tour of the cottage which I have to say is really beautifully decorated and well maintined and has all the little extra touches e.g. washing machine, coffee maker, condiments in the cupboards and what I was most overwhelmed by was the attention to detail, lovely yellow roses on the table, a bottle of red wine, butter, bread and milk provided as well as tea, coffee and sugar in the cupboard. The location of the cottage is perfect for lovely walks if you have dogs (we took 2) there is a lovely cafe called the Wharf kitchen which allows you to dine with your dogs which was perfect for us. There is also an indian, chinese and fish shop in the village along with a Tesco 5 minutes stroll away. Langport is an ideal base to explore, we travelled to Burnham, Brean, Glastonbury, Street, Somerton and then headed into Weston on our way home. I would highly recommend this cottage and would definately stay again in the near future. I would like to say a big thank-you to Gay and her husband for making us feel so welcome. The Lewis Family
A wonderful cottage
We have just returned from a lovely long weekend at Wren Cottage. The cottage is a true home away from home, comfortable with everything you could need plus additional touches such as milk in the fridge and teabags in the cupboard; my daughter did ask if we could move in on a permeant basis! Gay, the owner was a wonderful host, showing us around the cottage when we arrived so we knew where everything was and how the heating worked. The cottage is well placed for lovely walks along the river and the carvery at the Langport Arms is a must! We would happily stay at Wren Cottage again.
For the thirth year in Langport. The cottage is in a quiet location in the lovely town of Langport. Warm welcome with with candy and wine plus milk, butter and bread for the next day. The cottage has been completely renovated. with a bathroom and kitchen bedroom ,living room area with a sofabed, it is possibly suitable for 4 person, for the cottage is a small terrace. There is also a private parking. As described by other guests the Langport Arms Hotel has a very tasty carvery. From Langport is quite possible to explore Somerset and Dorset.
I would like to start this by asking when can we come back? This is the perfect place to come for a relaxing break with the family, plenty around to keep yourselves entertained and not to mention being looked after by great hosts Steve and Gay!! The cottage is by far the nicest/cleanest one we have ever stayed in, the town has everything you need within a 5 minute walking distance, also a river just out the back perfect for fishing!! Overall 100% recommended thank you so much!!!!

Langport is a small market town (reputedly the smallest in England) surrounded by the beautiful countryside of the Somerset Levels. Its main street, built on an ancient Roman causeway, is lined with small independent shops and cafés. The River Parrett meanders gently around the edge of the town providing miles of scenic riverside for walking, cycling and fishing. Langport has a wide choice of restaurants - The Langport Arms, dating back to the Civil War, with an excellent carvery and bar snacks; the Thai Mango restaurant at Bow Wharf for delicious authentic Thai food; Cardamom, a very good curry house, Rumours tapas & wine bar and La Roche for really great steaks! There are plenty of places to visit in the surrounding area including Somerton, the ancient capital of Wessex with its medieval market square, the 14th century Benedictine abbey at Muchelney, Glastonbury's famous tor and abbey and the lovely little city of Wells with its magnificent cathedral.
