About Victoria Cobden

Westbury Manor Stables are owned by Simon and Victoria Cobden. They live a couple of hundred yards from the Stables so are available to answer any queries you may have whilst you are on holiday. Simon is a farmer whilst Victoria helps on the farm and looks after their two children and The Stables

Victoria Cobden purchased this cottage in 1970

Why Victoria Cobden chose West Meon

Westbury Manor Farm was bought by Mr and Mrs Cobden snr in 1973 and the family have lived there ever since. The Stables are owned by their eldest son Simon and his wife Victoria - they were converted from stables to a luxury holiday cottage in 2012. It is lovely to live on a farm in a rural setting but also have all the amenities you could possibly need just a few miles away.

What makes this cottage unique

The Stables are on the edge of a working farm and whilst guests must be aware farms can be dangerous places due to tractors and machinery, there is the opportunity to see newborn lambs and calves at certain times of the year. Lovely walking area within the South Downs National Park. The Stables have been converted to a luxury standard but retain the character of the Victorian building

Excellent cottage

  • 5 of 5

Perfect two night break in this lovely accommodation. We were able to arrive early on the Friday and leave later on the Sunday which made the weekend even more relaxing.

Cottage was very comfortable and warm. Well equipped with everything you need.

Local pub was a short walk away and the food was excellent.

A hidden gem!

  • 5 of 5

So pleased we booked this property as it suited our needs for 4 of us perfectly. We were shocked and thrilled that despite only staying 2 nights a welcome package was still provided....above & beyond - thank you Victoria! There was everything we needed and the stable conversion has been done beautifully with great character. A very peaceful setting and having a separate private entrance could be another plus for some guests, along with the enclosed plot suiting a dog. Clean, well stocked, well maintained and homely. Could not fault the booking communications and consistent willingness to make our stay as nice as it could be. Would love to go back (if only to master the key retrieval better this time!)

Relaxing weekend away

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely weekend stay. The welcome pack was very much appreciated. The cottage was well equipped and spacious enough for the four of us and our dog.

We all enjoyed walking around the farm. We were fortunate to be able to visit the Arlesford show and enjoyed our walks along the Meon valley railway walk. We had a lovely meal at the Thomas Lord pub on the Sunday evening and also some lovely cake at the cafe in the village shop.

Victoria was very helpful and quick to respond to any questions.

We would come back again. Many thanks

Beautiful cottage in a relaxing environment

  • 5 of 5

Lovely cottage in a farm - incredible to be able to see cows, horses and lambs. Victoria was very accommodating and left us homemade cupcakes, eggs, bread, milk and wine which was really nice. We loved our stay and would definitely recommend for anyone looking to stay in the area.

Beautiful countryside location

  • 5 of 5

Cottage was exactly as shown in the photos, very clean and well equipped. Excellent shower, nice and warm heating system and plenty of room for four of us. In a great location in the Hampshire countryside - with a very nice pub, The Thomas Lord, in the nearby village.

It's on a working farm and so it was a real treat to see the newborn lambs in the nearby barn - Farmer Richard very kindly showed us around and taught us a thing or two! Victoria and her family are so warm and welcoming, we would happily return.
