Westbury Manor Stables are owned by Simon and Victoria Cobden. They live a couple of hundred yards from the Stables so are available to answer any queries you may have whilst you are on holiday. Simon is a farmer whilst Victoria helps on the farm and looks after their two children and The Stables

A wonderful find in a stunning area

Victoria was charming from the minute we first communicated with her. The property was ideal for a week-end break: there is a wealth of wonderful walking, much from the door, plus National Trust properties nearby. A wonderful welcome basket: the cake was scrumptious! Victoria dropped by to see we were fine, and gave us good suggestions for local pubs that were dog friendly. We only wished our stay had been longer.

Great accommodation

Stayed in property for 2 nights as attending a wedding in West Meon. Arrived to find homemade cake, fresh eggs, wine, bread, milk, etc., and the property was lovely and clean. There was plenty of hot water too for either a shower or a bath. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone wanting to visit this area. A beautiful cottage in a stunning area.

Couldn't have been better!

I stayed in the cottage with friends for the weekend as we were heading to a wedding in Petersfield. We absolutely loved the place! It's so homely with everything you could need. Arrived on Friday night to home made cakes which went down a treat, and bread and eggs etc. for breakfast which was great as we had an early start. Victoria the owner was really helpful beforehand in emails and said we could leave whenever we wanted to on the Sunday as the next guests weren't arriving until the following day. I'd definitely recommend and we will be back if we are ever in the area again!

Perfect Hampshire Holiday Cottage

This barn conversion on a working farm has been excellently refurbished. We had a really lovely week here, the owners are extremely friendly, helpful and genuinely interested in making sure we had every thing we needed for a perfect holiday. A fulsome welcome pack greeted us, which included milk, bread, eggs, bacon, sausages, wine, apple juice and delicious home made cakes. Tea, coffee, hot choc is all there ready for us when we arrived - couldn't ask for anything more. The barn is conveniently located about a 5 minute walk away from the centre of West Meon, which has a good shop, butchers and local pub. We did a fabulous walk along the old railway line for a couple of miles to the next village through beautiful countryside. Portsmouth / Isle of Wight / Winchester are all about half an hour by car, and of course the cottage is right in the middle of the breath taking South Downs.

The barn is tastefully decorated and has a well equipped kitchen / dining area / and cosy lounge. Lovely and quiet as it is located away from any main road.

Really recommend this holiday cottage for anyone looking to explore the South Downs or even just a quiet getaway. It's perfect, and my son (aged 8) was extremely pleased with his going away present from Victoria (the owner) of some more of her delicious home made cupcakes - yummy!

Westbury Manor Farm was bought by Mr and Mrs Cobden snr in 1973 and the family have lived there ever since. The Stables are owned by their eldest son Simon and his wife Victoria - they were converted from stables to a luxury holiday cottage in 2012. It is lovely to live on a farm in a rural setting but also have all the amenities you could possibly need just a few miles away.

Just under a mile to West Meon Village, 8 miles to Petersfield, 10 miles to Winchester

West Meon Village has a Village Shop, a delightful Cafe, an Award Winning Butchers and a lovely pub The Thomas Lord - offering both lunchtime and evening meals and a garage with Budgens Store attached. Further afield Petersfield has many pubs, coffee shops, a Waitrose, Marks and Spencers Food and a Tesco. Also all major high street banks.

The Stables are on the edge of a working farm and whilst guests must be aware farms can be dangerous places due to tractors and machinery, there is the opportunity to see newborn lambs and calves at certain times of the year. Lovely walking area within the South Downs National Park. The Stables have been converted to a luxury standard but retain the character of the Victorian building

  • Notes on accommodation: All three TVs have Freeview providing a large number of Channels. WIFI now available. One well behaved dog will be welcome although only in the main living area, not upstairs or in the master bedroom and the dog must not be left unattended in the cottage. unfortunately cats are not allowed. Complimentary toiletries and a welcome pack will be provided. Outside: Courtyard style outdoor space. Shed for bikes/tack . Stables available if you wish to bring your horse! Tumble dryer in shed. Gas BBQ Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All towels and linen included. Also change of linen included. Cottage cleaned once during the week Other: At the top of the stairs there is a lovely old Oak Settle and some books to allow for a quiet reading area, also some childrens toys/puzzles for our younger guests
