Apartment in Nice centre, downtown, Provence-Alpes-Cote D'azur, France - Peaceful Location, 5 Mins Walk to Beach and Train Station, 2 Mins to Shops, Restaurants and Bars

Relax in our peaceful and spacious 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment which is centrally located in a quiet street for perfect holidays with family or friends. (It's cool and airy during summer / warm and cosy in winter). There are two spacious shower rooms and three toilets. One double bedroom has new twin beds and the other has a double. Both bedrooms have double doors that open onto a small balcony. A new sofa bed for 2 adults (brand new 2017 and very comfortable) is located in the living area. We are just a 5 mins walk to sea and the famous promenades, 10 mins to the Old Town (where most of the nightlife and markets are). 1 min from many shops, cafes and good restaurants. 5 mins walk to the train station for easy day trips to stunning villages and beaches up and down the coast. 20 Minutes to Monaco - 50 mins to Cannes.

Why Matthew chose Carre d'Or

Mainly of it's location, since you can walk to the beach within 5mins and it's a very residential area with all the amenities on hand.

The chose of restaurant's is huge.

Easy excess to the old town and the main shopping area.

What makes this apartment unique

The flat is big enough with the lounge and open plan kitchen, fairly large bedrooms and the two shower rooms are really handy with the family and there also the spare toilet for any emergencies

Notes on accommodation: The whole apartment has just been repainted and a new toilet and bidet have been fitted in the shower room and a new additional bathroom with large shower has been completed January 2014. A portable air conditioning unit is available for your use if the apartment gets too warm during the summer. Please note however, this is a cool shady apartment and our guests feel very comfortable here during all months of the year. Outside: There is a fantastic new supermarket located just opposite that has everything you will need. Very handy just across the road open every day. Local bakery just on the corner. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The end of stay clean and laundry is included in a 7 night stay linen for beds and bath and hand towels are included. If more than 4 people are staying there will be an additional supplement. Please state number of adults with age and sex when contacting.

Good central location

We enjoyed our week in Nice.

We appreciated Matthew meeting us on arrival and showing us around the apartment.

The apartment was very well equipped (maybe too much). The cupboards were packed full and some equipment needed washing before we were able to use it. There was however plenty of empty cupboard space in the bedroom.

We did not like that there was foodstuff left in the fridge and cupboards.

The linen was clean and plentiful and there was plenty of hot water.

As the weather was so hot we left the shutters and windows open all the time, sadly this resulted in an opportunist break in during Monday night when we lost a mobile phone, I pad, sunglasses and a watch. The shutters and windows were then shut when we were not in and also during the night.

We loved the location as we were able to walk to the beach, restaurants and local transport.

I think Matthew could do with decluttering and we would consider staying there again if we return to Nice.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your comments that we always take seriously. The kitchen has now been cleared and there is plenty of space, yet still with all the home comforts you may need. Break ins are rare in this area, but we will now always advise guests to close the shutters whilst sleeping or out.

Perfect location, nice apartment

First and foremost - perfect location!

1. Close to the old town

2. 200m to the sea and promenade

3. 300m to bus 98/99 to/from the airport

4. Supermarket across the street

5. Bakery 50m away

6. Nice wine shop/restaurant 20m away

7. Great food restaurants lebanese/greek/chinese/french etc. 100m

8. Great coctail bar and dance club - La Havane 200m away

9. Train station + tourist office 800m

Nice apartment, well equiped with all you need to have during your holiday stay:

1. Loads of books/dvd movies/music/travel guides/board games

2. Very clean, comfortable beds, towels provided, clean leanen

3. Beach mattress :)

4. Huge shower

5. Air conditioning in one room which we didn't have to use even in June. Apartament is not on the sunny side in the morning which is very good considering high temperatures!

Friendly and helpful manager.

All in all we highly recommend this apartment as a great starting base to visit whole Cote d'Azure !

Fantastic five days in Nice!

A fantastic apartment in a great location!

We were in Nice for five days with our two small children (aged two and three) and we had the best time!

The apartment was light and airy, and spacious enough for our children to run around. The bedrooms were a good size and there was plenty of storage and bed linen available.

The shower was brilliant; spacious and powerful and it had a separate detachable shower head which I used to shower the children.

The kitchen was very well equipped, which meant we could cook for the children - this was important to us because eating out with a two year old and a three year old is not always easy.

The wifi and dvd player kept the kids occupied, we must have watched Frozen at least 20 times during our stay!

The location of the apartment was perfect for us - we had a supermarket directly opposite (particularly handy when we ran out of milk for the children) and a bakery at the end of the road where we would go for coffee and croissants in the morning.

We were also a 5-10 minute walk from the promenade, restaurants, gelaterias and a toy shop (which we visited every day of our stay!) We spent our time playing at the beach, in the fountains and we went to Aquasplash, which the children loved.

All in all, I was highly recommend a visit to Nice, and we definitely intend to visit again soon!

Great location!

This apartment is very close to the promenade, local bus links and city centre. It is light, airy and ideal as a base for exploring Nice. There are many local bars and restaurants to choose from. It was very useful to have internet access through wifi. I would definitely stay here again.

Great Apartment

The apartment was easy to get to from Nice airport, just one bus ride and a short 5min walk. The apartment building has good security with a locked door to the main building and a separate locked door to the apartment. This second floor apartment was full of character with a lovely old lift providing access to the apartment or walk up one flight of stairs if you preferred.

On arrival we found the apartment clean and well maintained as noted by other people that have stayed in the apartment. The apartment was spacious with all mod cons,wifi, tv, radio. etc Equally the kitchen was extremely well equipped with everything you would need to prepare fine meals for a group of people.

The apartment was well located just a 5-10 min walk to the main plaza and then a short distance to the old town.

All in all this was a great rent for a stay in Nice.

Perfect Location for My Short trip.

Had a five day stay. Apartment tidy and well maintained, just as described. Good size for our party of four. All amenities, beach restaurants and the lovely old town just a very short walk from flat. Quiet street. Had a little bit of trouble working out how to use T.V and WIFI but Mathew was very helpful. Were very lucky with the weather, wonder if it is always this sunny and colourful in Nice? Melinda

The beach is a 5 to 10 mins walk. Other beaches, including beautiful sandy beaches are a short distance by train. Villefranche beach is just 5 mins by train (2 stops from Nice Ville).


Very accessable by public transport - Nice airport is 20 mins by bus. Train station is walking distance.

A car is not necessary as public transport is very good and cheap. If you arrive by car or hire a car, there is street parking outside with parking meters in all the streets around and there are public car parks nearby.

There is a possibility of a private parking space nearby if required for an additional fee. Please ask for details.

Further Details:

Supermarket opposite that caters for all your needs. So don't have to carry supplies long distances by foot or queue for ages at the till.

Typical French epiceries and boulangeres 2 minute walk

There will always be an English speaking agent who will meet you with the keys. They live locally and are on call in the event of an emergency and will ensure any questions and problems you have are dealt with promptly.
