Hi, my name is Helen. I enjoyed a second home in the Lake District while living in Yorkshire, but after 9 years of sharing the two I decided to make the Lake District my permanent home. I hope you will enjoy it up here too.

These delightful cottages in Borrowdale are set in the most stunning location. I have updated them and made them comfortable and welcoming to allow my guests a homely base from which they can enjoy and participate in the many varied activities the Keswick area offers.

What makes this cottage unique

The cottages are situated in the beautiful Borrowdale Valley giving direct access to the fells and lake shore. Within peaceful quiet grounds yet only 6 miles from town centre it is easy to enjoy the immediate area or explore the rest of the northern lake district.

Lovely quiet location with stunning views over Derwentwater. Well laid out and equipped property, clean and well maintained..the open fire is a cozy bonus. I would recommend this property at any time of the year.

Garden Cottage a Lakeland Gem

A lovely cottage in a stunning location. Ideal for exploring the Bowrrowdale Valley from the door. The cottage is very well equiped, furnished to a high standard and very well maintained by the owner. We were warm and cosy and really enjoyed the open fire and enjoyed many lovely walks. Came back feeling relaxed and wished it could have been longer. Having not stayed in Garden Cottage or indeed visited The Lakes since 2010 made us realise what we have missed. Have already booked a short break for March and plan a longer visit next year.

Amazing cottage with amazing views

This property is faultless, it's been beautifully decorated and was spotlessly clean. Had everything we needed to cater for a family of 4 with a teenage son & daughter and not forgetting the dog. Outside the back is a designated seating area and the views from the door are amazing. You are at the foot of Catbells and can access it from a gate near by. In fact both bedrooms overlook Catbells so the view in the mornings when you open the bedroom curtains is spell bounding.

Although it's a middle property we never heard any noise from the adjoining property's.

We didn't have to travel no more than 10-15 minutes to get to the start of some spectacular mountain walks like Scafell. So much to do in the area as there is water activitys and Keswick is only 5 miles away. we loved it so much we rebooked whilst still there.

Great location, clean & comfortable cottage

A compact but well equipped, clean and very comfortable cottage. Fantastic location on the slopes of Catbells - great for walks and cycle rides right from the door, and you can catch the launch from a nearby pier for a trip to Keswick if you don't want to take the car. Not much space for drying lots of wet / muddy outdoor gear and footwear.
