This beautiful barn conversion and adjacent cottage can sleep a total of 12 people with 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. Situated at the back of a tiny hamlet in its own grounds the Marronnier is in a peaceful setting. There is plenty of space/seating/sunloungers for everyone. The walled garden is a haven with its heated pool, covered gazabo, wafting lavender and raised garden beds. The perfect place to relax and unwind. The large lawned garden leads to the grassy meadow where there is badminton, trampoline, swing set, boules and table tennis to keep the children happy, lots of space to play as well as a good selection of mountain bikes and lots of tracks and trails straight from the property. Le Marronnier is a beautiful haven of peace and tranquillity. A fabulous barn conversion lovingly undertaken with great attention to detail throughout providing for an exceptionally comfortable holiday stay.



Jeanette was lovely to deal with and was there to great us when we arrived and to show us around which added a lovely touch. All in all I couldn't recommend it more. We had a lovely time and look very much forward to going back!

The barn is beautifully furnished and is obviously a much cared for family home. It has all the mod cons and plenty of extras to keep friends or family entertained, even down to a garage full of mountain bikes.

Peace and Tranquility

We have just got home from 2wks at Le Marronnier and had an amazing time. Jeanette was a very welcoming host and helpful throughout, from booking right through to tips on best places to visit/eat.The Barn felt like a home from home, beautifully furnished in a rustic chic to suit the character of the building.... the photos don't do it justice. The Barn was well equipped with all we could want including UK Freeview TV. Barn has swing set, trampoline, badminton, table tennis and a selection of bikes in addition to the pool. The location a lovely rural hamlet with local walks....my kids had a great time spotting all sorts of wildlife, including a young deer that would visit the garden some evenings. The pool was great, surrounded by the fragrance of lavender, and was kept very clean and being heated was always at a lovely temp for swimming, even on the cooler days. Whilst off the beaten track we found we were never too far away from attractions in the Region and would recommend Branthome/kayaking as a fab family day out. Periguex was about 25mins away with shopping/museums/restaurants. If you want a relaxing holiday in the beautiful Dordogne, then I would highly recommend this place. We spent many great days relaxing by the pool, picking fresh tomatoes, raspberries and peaches from the garden to eat with our lunch under the gazebo....idyllic. If I were to think of any feedback, we couldnt find any outside lighting if you wanted to be outside after dark?.....but we are already looking to rebook for next summer...so I guess enough said!

Its location is what makes it special to me. Located at the back in a tiny hamlet that has more barns than people and with tracks and trails straight from the doorstep I love being so close to nature. The wonderful stone properties in this area and the fact that it is a region renown for its truffles makes it truly unique.

A 30% deposit is required to secure your booking. The balance of payment is due 8 weeks prior to your holiday along with a £350 security deposit.
The main house is used for bookings of up to 8 people. For 8-12 people, or by prior arrangement, then the cottage is also included in the rental.

Changeover Day:
Saturday to Saturday during peak weeks.

A top quality rental with fully fitted kitchen, spacious accommodation and family friendly. Plenty of outside seating, garden with large terrace for outside dining and barbecuing. The main house has 4 bedrooms and the Cottage accommodation is a beautiful self contained spacious 2 bedroom property just a few steps across the courtyard. It is very popular with couples or people wishing for a little more independence from the main group. With easy access to the large swimming pool which is heated and in a walled garden along with raised vegetable beds for you to help yourself to the home grown produce. Outside: The property is surrounded by its own grounds. Plenty of space for children to run around. The large patio at the back of the main house has 2 seating areas and easy access straight onto the lawned garden and the meadow. The walled garden has the salt water swimming pool which on the top side is surrounded by lavender plants. The walled garden has a metal gazebo for shade, 7 raised beds with plants and vegetables growing for you to pick. The swimming pool is salt water and is heated from May to September* There are plenty of sunloungers, and additional tables and chairs around the grounds for you to sit back and relax. On the main terrace there are 2 gazebos offering plenty of shade for alfresco dining. Plenty of space for parking vehicles. There is a badminton net, trampoline, table tennis table, boules, swing set and a selection of mountain bikes for you to use. Lots of tracks and trails straight from the property. Utility Room: Washing machines, iron and ironing board. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen and house towels are supplied. We do ask guests to provide their own pool towels. Other: All the rooms are tastefully furnished and have character with stone walls and oak beams.
