Located on the beautiful Costa Tropical coast of Granada. Casa de la Luz is situated in La Aldea on the Punta de la Mona, an enchanting Spanish idyll. Nestled in the cliffs above the village of La Herradura with it's peaceful horseshoe bay and great restaurants it is the ideal spot to relax and recharge. You can sail, dive, paraglide, go trekking or skiing in the mountains or just laze with a good book on the beautiful beach. Situated both 40 mins east of Malaga and 50 mins south of Granada airports, easily accessible by car.

Excellent Villa

The house is amazing, even better then the pictures. The view from the terrace alone is worth to go there for!

The communication was good, the property manager was waiting for us there.

We highly recommend it and definitely will go back there again!

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

The beach at la Herradura is a gentle 15 minute walk or 5 mins in the car. The beach is situated in a beautiful horseshoe bay approximately 2km from end to end. It is a pebble (small pebbles) beach which is great for all ages.

Travel:

The property is 40 minutes drive from Malaga (the nearest airport) and 60 mins from Granada airport, although flights to and from Granada are much less frequent. Having the use of a car would make travelling around easier but by no means essential should you just wish to spend your time between the house and the beach. Taxis are available and not expensive.

Distances:

The property is 5 mins outside la Herradura which has all the shops and facilities you would need including the local food market. Almunecar is approximately 10 km or 20 mins drive where there are some larger supermarkets. The historic and beautiful city of Granada is approximately 90 km, 50 mins drive.

Further Details:

La Herradura is predominantly a Spanish destination with people coming down from Granada for the weekends, although many of the local shopkeepers and restaurant staff will speak a little English, a little basic Spanish always helps. There are ATM machines and banks in la Herradura. A modern medical centre is also available.

The shared pool (approx 20m x 5m) is for residents only and is surrounded by lawn and palm trees, located 50m from the house. Utility Room: Utility room mainly used as storage for beach equipment etc. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen provided in rental cost. Maid service can be provided on request at a daily rate charged separately.
