About the property

House in Koroni, Peloponnese, Greece - Tranquile Location, 8 Minutes Walk To The Beach

The log cabin enjoys a unique position on the hillside above Koroni. To the east and south, the house overlooks Memi beach, Koroni and the Taygetous mountain. The view is private and uninterrupted. To the north and west, the view is of the hills and olive groves. The location is secluded and very private. It is a wonderful place to stay if you are looking for complete peace and tranquility - you can enjoy spectacular sunrises from here. The house was built in 2002 by my husband and my children. They built the house log by log; nailing each log together, building the roof and the hand made pine ceiling. The floors are hard oak wood and were built with precision and skill. The balconies are wooden too. The project involved a lot of very hard work. My husband is a skilled carpenter so the house has been finished to a very high standard. In the living area there is a hand made oak sofa and an armchair made of walnut. The furniture was designed and made by my husband.

About Kiki Apostolidis

I am Kiki and I was born in Koroni, I spent all my childhood years in this area. As a child I used to study and look at the beautiful blue sea as a way to travel around the world. After graduating from high school I went to the USA at Temple University in Philadelphia to get an education. It was also the place where I met my husband. In the 2000 my husband and my children decided to built this log house to bond them together. A lot of personal work and care has been taken to every part of the house. From the hand made roof, floor, house walls to the hand made sofa and chairs. Almost everything is custom made and with a lot of love. We always appreciate having guests over at our home. Greek hospitality is not just a saying where I come from, its an action of heart.

Why Kiki Apostolidis chose Messinia

We bought the location at 1996. We liked the land because it was close to civilization, tavernas and beach, but it seemed that you were very far away from the crowds and the civilization. It was the ideal location to spend our vacations and be alone in nature with the wind, the birds, the bushes and the wild flowers. Later on a Log house was built to shelter our dreams. This was done in coordination of my husband and my children. It was a project to bond the family on a summer vacation time. Now the children leave all over the world and visit it few weeks per year.

What makes this cabin unique

Staying in the property one gets this unique experience of being one with nature. It is a lovely house not too big not too small but very efficient. Staying inside the house or been outside of it, the view of the surroundings is the same and fantastic. Nothing stop your eyes from the horizon. Staying in the log house is an experience itself. The unique smell of the wood inside the house, the fresh air that comes from the windows, the birds chirping, the smell of the wild flowers, the stars at night that can be seen all year round. It is a place that one can really relax, away from telephones and wifi, tv.

Angeliki and her husband are the perfect hosts. Responses to emails were immediate and she provided us with lots of valuable information in advance. They organised for us a transfer to Kalamata airport and a car and welcomed us warmly at the house. Angeliki took care of our every question and request, from helpful ideas on where to visit, putting lovely coffee and fruit for our convenience. They also organised for our kids a baby crib and extra mattress. The house was very clean and comfortable. The location is adorable with fantastic view from the balcony! And the sunshine that comes in throughout the day makes for a happy welcome feeling. We wouldn't stay anywhere else in Koroni and hope to return for a longer visit next time. Thank you so much for welcoming us like a friends! We love your place and highly recommend your house to any visitors to it. Thank you again, for your lovely present and your company.   • The bathroom is a separate room. It is very spacious with w.c., shower, and washbasin. The bathroom window overlooks the rolling hills of the area.

Notes on accommodation: The log house is suitable for people who love to be alone in a romantic environment close to nature. It is suitable for a couple and a child. Pets are welcome. There is a cast iron stove to heat the house in the winter months. It has a gas stove for minimal cooking and a refrigerator. The electricity is provided by photo voltaic panel for lighting the rooms. Since the house if made of solid wood, smoking is not permitted in the house and on the balcony. The use of fire is forbidden. Outside: The balcony or patios are surrounding the house east, west and south. The west one is made out of local stone and the others made out of wood. There is a stone table and chairs. There is not a proper garden but the house is surrounded by olive trees and wild flowers and bushes. The car can be parked just outside of the house. Utility Room: There is a big walk in closet that can be used as storage space. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are provided and they can be changed twice a week. Cleaning can be arranged upon request. Other: There is a walk in closet that has hangers and storage space for suitcases.

Beautiful location, well-built cabin.

Pros: Views, wooden interior, wooden balcony, very quiet, excellent fly screens.

Cons: intermittent water supply (off for more than 12 hours once), low voltage solar supply - insufficient for a hairdryer or a fan, appalling track up to cabin, really suitable for a 4x4 vehicle only.

Upon availability, a 25% deposit of the total cost is requested and the rest one month before your arrival. I will also forward directions to the property and welcome you upon your arrival. I live relatively close to the rented property, so you can contact me any time if you need to.

Changeover Day:
The changeover day is flexible. Arrival and departure times will be according to your individual needs, upon agreement.

Prices are in Great Britain pounds. If you are in the European common Market the equivalent in Euros will be accepted according to the bank rate.

A 25% deposit is requested and the rest of the amount one month before your arrival
