We all very much enjoyed our stay, and thought that your house was lovely - obviously you have spent much time and effort in co-ordinating the rooms and giving it a really comfortable and relaxing feel. I particularly liked the co-ordinated colour schemes in each room - every litte detail matched to make the house feel like a seaside home. We were all able to relax at the end of each day and potter about if we felt like it . It is our 6th year in Mevagissey and we are already discussing going again, hopefully to Willow. It really is a a beautiful location and if I could I would definitely live there!!

Lovely place to stay

This is a lovely house in a very convenient spot in Mevva. We do not have a car and my elderly Mum cannot walk far but this was convenient for the quay and for the buses. The only reason I haven't given 5 stars is that the garden areas, being up some very steep steps, was not accessible to her, but the rest of the party enjoyed them very much!

Wonderful Willow

We stayed in Willow in October 2014 and it couldn't have been better! The owners were extremely helpful before arrival and the house was cleaned to a very high standard. The location was perfect for us as it was so close to the Harbour with its various restaurants, shops and pubs.

I needed to work during our stay and the wifi was reliable and speedy. The parking place in Willow Car park was closer than I expected, less than a five minute walk from the house. The house itself was welcoming, nicely decorated and furnished and had all the facilities you would need for a great holiday!

LOVELY COTTAGE

My husband and me stayed here for two weeks in June and had a lovely time. The cottage has plenty of character and was very spacious and clean, the bathroom is lovely and big and loved the shower and stand alone bath. The decking outside is wonderful and a lovely sun trap worth the effort of all those steep steps, the view is lovely, we watched the baby gulls on the roof tops every evening - do make sure you take everything up in one go - lots of steep steps. There are plenty of eating places in Mevagissey, highly recommend the Salamander, but make sure you book. The surrounding area is beautiful and the north coast easy accessible, took us about 50 minutes to reach Padstow. The walking in this area is second to none and the scenery from the coastal paths is stunning. The parking arrangements are fine, the parking attendants in the main carpark are both very friendly and helpful. There is also a lovely fruit and veg shop come delicatessen in the town, and a wonderful bakers. If there weren't so many other places to visit on our wish list, we would be back tomorrow. The ferry trip from Mevagissey Harbour to Fowey is a lovely trip and Fowey has some lovely shops and restaurants too. Highly recommend both the cottage and the town.

Great - with only small minus

We had a great stay and intend to come back one day.

Plus:

Charming house. Well equipped. Spacious rooms. 1 minute walking to harbour and most shops, pubs, etc. Great village. Good communication with owner. All other aspects not mentioned as "minus"...

Minus:

Could be tidied little better.

2 of the 3 sleeping rooms face the street and are little noisy until late evening/midnight (only a problem for people with shallow sleep as my wife, was not a problem for me...)

Beautiful home from home

This house is very spacious and very well equipped. It is also in a great location being just round the corner from the harbour and close to pubs and restaurants. It's just a short walk to the FREE parking space in the car park. Plenty of places to sit and relax in the garden although there are a lot of steps for anyone who has difficulty with steps.

We loved this house and it was such a shame to have to come home.

A lovely base

A G8 house, well equipped and nice deco

all rooms are a very good size and the bedrooms are lovely and with good T.V's. 5* shower. this house was a G8 base and just a 1min walk to the harbour and a friendly pub at the end of the road.

Coast/Beach:

There are many beautiful sandy beaches close-by and coastal paths taking you to Pentewan, Gorran Haven and Portmellon.

Travel:

A car is considered essential if you are going to explore the area, however there is a local bus route that runs from Mevagissey to St Austell and Truro .

Train station in the centre of St. Austell (approx 5 miles)

Distances:

St Austell 5 miles - Truro 12 miles - Falmouth 12 miles

Newquay 15 miles - Plymouth 40 miles.

Further Details:

As a working fishing village on the south Cornish coast, Mevagissey is renowned for its labyrinth of quaint cob and slate fisherman’s cottages, retaining much of its charm through its tiny winding streets. Mevagissey caters well for everyday needs having everyday shops, gift shops, public houses and restaurants. Fishing trips can be taken from the harbour and there is a foot ferry across to the nearby town of Fowey.The south west coastal path goes through the village which offers fine views of the cornish coast. Keen walkers will enjoy walks south to Gorran Haven or North to St Austell via Pentewan.

Other attractions closeby are The lost gardens of Heligan (1.5miles) and The Eden project (7miles) with the bigger towns of Truro and Newquay both within 15 miles away.

Each year at the end of June Mevagissey celebrates 'Feast Week' - a week of family fun, music, carnival, and fireworks.

Full gas central heating Outside: Lovely courtyard with further Gardens beyond, decked patio areas -which maybe unsuitable for all to access due to the number of steps , outdoor furniture - This property does not have its own parking , however we do rent a parking space in the main car park as you enter Mevagissey approx 300 yards away that is available to clients free of charge. Also there is a short stay 2 hour paying car park approx 20 yards from the house that is ideal for loading/unloading. Utility Room: Washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and ironing board Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bed linen and towels included in rent. Please bring bedding if the travel cot is required.
