Studio Apartment in Antibes, Alpes Maritimes, Cotes D'Azur, France - Romantic & Charming Small Studio In Provencal Style - An 'Eagles' Nest' In The Centre Of The Town
On the third floor (no lift) of an old building, and only five minutes' walk to the nearest sandy beach, the special charm of this studio is the small, sunny roof terrace (known locally as a 'terrasse tropezienne') which opens directly off the room through double doors, where you can dine a-deux and sip your evening wine as you watch the moon climbing over the ancient towers of the cathedral and Chateau Grimaldi. Also all within five to ten minutes walk are the famous covered market, the stone ramparts along the sea, the Musee Picasso and the huge marina where some of the largest luxury yachts in the world are moored, as well as the smallest of fishing boats whose crews land and sell their daily catch on the quay.

Comfy and cosy
Could not fault this studio at all..everything you needed was there..right in the heart of Antibes with great restaurants right by and just minutes from beach...met by Connie with the key who was a lovely lady and the owner was lovely to talk to either on phone or by email..would go back to stay and also recommend this studio and the icing on the cake was the roof terrace where we enjoyed a lovely relaxed breakfast....
Comfy and cosy...everything you needed
Could not fault the apartment..had everything you needed ...right in centre of Antibes..was well maintained and the roof terrace was added bonus to have breakfast or a nightcap before bed...plenty of good restaurants around but still quiet at night..would definatly recommend this apartment and would go back there again
Rustic Provencal charm
This was our second stay at this property and it worked its rustic Provencal charm on us once again. It is full of character and has everything you could want from a holiday studio including the wonderful little roof terrace. The location is excellent, being close to cafes and shops, 5 minutes' stroll to the nearest beach, and 10 minutes' stroll to trains and buses for exploring along the coast and inland. Customer service for this apartment cannot be faulted, helpful and friendly assistance being only a phone call away.
Great location, and has everything one needs
I have stayed in many different places in Antibes old town, and this tiny top-floor studio most certainly ranks among the very best.
My wife and I stayed a week in July (a very hot one even by the local standards), and we found that, despite its small size, it really had everything one needed, while at the same time having no unnecessary distractions.
We had lovely evening meals on the small roof terrace, which overlooks the old town, to the accompaniment of an accordion in the street below. The atmosphere was truly unforgettable.
Because of the heat, a mobile air conditioning unit was rolled out when we arrived, and it served its purpose very well. The sofa-bed was surprisingly comfortable, the shower worked fine, and there was even a useful washing machine hidden away. There was plenty of crockery, kitchen utensils and such like, and we were even welcomed with a nice bottle of rosé.
Another nice touch was a large and fine selection of books, mostly in English but some in French too, as well as local maps and some good board games.
The steep climbs up the final flight of stairs to the flat was fine for us, though it would certainly not be suitable for the old and the infirm.
The studio is in the very heart of the old town, with everything within a few minutes' walk. Being so high up, you can hear the hubbub of the street below, but it is never too noisy.
All in all, we had a wonderful time and will certainly try to come again next summer.
We loved this delightful little studio. We were welcomed so warmly on our arrival we felt at home immediately. And the owner of the studio was always extremely helpful whenever we contacted her with queries in advance of our stay. The studio has a perfect location in the old town and is full of charm and character. OK, the stairs are steep and some of the ceilings are low but once we got used to them there was no problem. Our favourite feature was the roof terrace. It was a real pleasure to sit out there in the evening. We had a lovely time. Can we come back next year?
Haven of peace
We loved this property! Beautiful apartment with small roof top terrace, one of the highlights was dining under the stars. Interesting access to charming place, beautifully maintained. V comfortable sofa bed too!
Activity and Interests
Five minutes' walk to La Gravette Beach (sandy) and the small rocky beach beyond the rampart wall (much used by locals). Ten to fifteen minutes' walk around the bay towards the Cap d'Antibes for sandy beaches such as Ponteil and Salis. Great running along the ramparts or round the port and over to the Fort Carre where you get stunning views across the harbour.
Nice Cote d'Azur Airport is 15 km - 20 mins by taxi, 35 mins by the regular & inexpensive airport bus service. The studio is ten minutes walk to the train station which has direct lines to St Raphael, Cannes, Nice, Monaco and the Italian Riviera as well as TGV services to Paris and beyond. Numerous local buses will get you to places like Juan-les-Pins, Valbonne and Vallauris. A car is not necessary, but underground parking is available nearby as are car-hire firms.

Antibes' Old Town (Vieille Ville) provides a constant source of delight and interest whatever the time of year. In high summer it's a mad crazy joy. In winter it's calm, usually sunny and there are spectacular views across the bay of the snow-topped Alps. Explore on foot its maze of narrow, cobbled streets awash with vines and bougainvillea. Walk its sixteenth century stone ramparts washed by the sea. Visit its museums - including Picasso, Peynet, Archaeology and Napoleon. The Provencal food and flower market (daily except Mondays) is a riot of colour, savours and scents. Antiques and Art markets are weekly/bi-weekly occurrences in the squares and along several streets. The cafe/restaurant/bar scene is mostly relaxed and casual with a Michelin star or two for full-on elegant occasions.
There are great walks around the Cap d'Antibes along the sea to Garoupe Beach (think Scott Fitzgerald) and on around the headland to the famous Hotel du Cap; or take the pathway up to the lighthouse from Salis Beach.
Power boats can be hired by the day. Sailing and diving are available. There is nearly always some sort of festival or happening e.g. Les Voiles d'Antibes (regatta for world-famous classic yachts) in June; Notre Dame de Bon Port in July; Les Nuits Blanche throughout Midsummer's Eve; The Giant Christmas Log Cake (Buche de Noel - everybody gets a slice for free) in December - it's always worth checking out the latest news on-line.
