Apartment in San Terenzo di Lerici, La Spezia, Liguria, Italy - Top Two Floors Of Traditional Ligurian Palazzo, Architect Designed To High Standard
The apartment measures 120 square metres, has WiFi, Sky sports and Sky cinema and is located on the top two floors of a traditional Ligurian house. It was designed by a local architect of renown, Sig. Ferri and has featured in a U.S architectural magazine and on an Italian television programme 'Case del Mare'. San Terenzo nestles on one side of the beautiful Gulf of Poets, looking west towards Porto Venere and the islands, sheltered by its ancient fortezza. Lerici lies on the other side of the gulf, a short walk by the beaches at Venere Auzzura, Colombo and Lido. The renowned Cinque Terre and Porto Fino are accessible by ferry from Lerici, as are Porto Venere and La Spezia, the nearest coastal towns. As well as the ferry services, San Terenzo has a frequent bus service to La Spezia and mainline train links from there to everywhere. The bus also serves Sarzana, the ancient ecclesiastical capital of Liguria and a beautiful undiscovered medieval city.

Three of us stayed here in June. Gorgeous apartment- everything you need- even beach towels and sewing kit! Loads to do and see on your doorstep- beach, castle, Shelley's house, shops, bars, ice- cream...but peaceful in the apartment. We drove from the UK and were able to park up the hill bout 8 minutes walk for 52 euros for 15 days.
Thank you Sheila- we hope to come back. Wish we were there now!

From first to last this was a fantastic holiday experience. Great tips and advice from the owners before we went, easy access to their local agent in San Terenzo when we arrived, a spotless, spacious and beautifully equipped apartment for our 2 week stay and a wonderful terrace view. The beach is across the road and San Terenzo has plenty to offer. Didn't feel the need to travel far, but the Cinque Terre are a must, Tellaro was a very pleasant trip by bus, and the coastal walk to Lerici in the evening was wonderful too.

Live like a local
Part of a bigger trip we met up with friends who had booked the apartment for a week or so. It is well located and close to all amenities including shops and eateries and of course the beach. Being a couple of floors up might be a challenge for some but we managed just fine despite not being the nimblest folk in the world.
The apartment itself is over two levels and is architecturally interesting and well fitted out. Couldn't fault the presentation and housekeeping and it was good to have a helpful manager on site most of the day.
We found it both comfortable and convenient and loved the rooftop balcony which was a favourite spot for breakfast and sundowners - when we were not at the bar adjacent to the main entry! Its next to a great bakers shop so straight from the oven bread and pastries were a regular breakfast treat.
Parking is a short walk away as the village is largely car free and a bus stop is within meters of the front door. We were able to cruise to the Cinque Terre villages and loved the views from offshore. Memorable.
Its a lovely property in a great spot and would suit both couples or family groups. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return when next in the area.
Casa San Terenzo is a perfect place to relax and enjoy this wonderful area of Italy. The apartment was well equipped, clean and spacious. There are numerous restaurants and bars close by. We met friends from Australia and we thoroughly all enjoyed our stay particularly sitting out on the balcony at the end of the day. We didn't use our car all week, we walked and used public transport, the buses run frequently around the bay. Cinque Terre is a must!
Fantastic location, great apartment
The apartment is in a great location, a minute from restaurants, shops and the beach. San Terenzo is a lovely little town and within fairly easy walk of Lerici with more shops, restaurants etc.
Being so close to the beach was a real bonus, meant it was easy to nip back in for cold drinks etc.
The apartment itself is lovely, a good size with a nice terrace, and a well equipped kitchen. It could be a little noisy in the morning with the shops nearby opening but that also meant it was very convenient, so we didn't see it as a problem. We'd definitely consider returning.
Beautiful apartment in a breathtaking location
My husband and I stayed in Casa San Terenzo for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The apartment is bright and airy, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Everything was spotlessly clean and we were provided with everything we needed (beach bags, towels, guidebooks, books etc) so we could just relax and not worry about anything.
The location itself is amazing; the apartment is literally a stone's throw from the beach and the seafront is dotted with great spots to eat and drink during the day, and some really incredible restaurants for the evening. We also had our own gorgeous little private balcony, which was perfect on the evenings we wanted to relax with a dinner and glass of wine on our own. San Terenzo is a great spot in its own right but it's also close to Lerici, which has great restaurants and shops, and (of course!) the stunning Cinque Terre. We had wonderful, relaxing stay and can't recommend it enough!
An Italian Treat
Three friends spent a lovely week in the sun at this beautiful apartment. It is spacious and a home from home.A holiday guide was available to tell us everything we needed to know about the area. Sheila was available for any queries we had in the office on site.
Plenty of amenities close to the apartment, beach just across the main road.
Within walking distance of Lerici for an evening stroll after dinner.
Lovely restuarants in San Terenzo and even more in Lerici.Lots of interesting places to visit by boat.We would recommend a stay in this lovely apartment
and beautiful part of Italy.
A most lovely trip to a beautiful region.
Great apartment for an Italian getaway!
Four of us travelling had an amazing stay in San Torenzo. Ideally located in the village centre with access to shops, restaurants, and bars. Easy to walk to Lerici, bus to La Spezia, or catch a boat to the Cinque Terra.
The apartment was clean and well furnished, the kitchen well stocked, and the balcony offered nice views over the bay for some al fresco dining.
Only 2 minutes (if that) to reach the beach! Head down early though because it fills up fast!

San Terenzo is justly noted for its many superb fish restaurants offering the best of Ligurian cuisine. Dine by the harbour in the shadow of the medieval castle built to withstand the ravages of the Barbary pirates and look across the Mediterranean to the necklace of lights around the gulf. Enjoy a morning cappucino and croissant at the Oriani and later a cooling 'gelato' at Teddy's cafe. Lunch presents a myriad of choices, but the beach restaurant Vertigo located on Marinella beach behind the castle has a unique location and friendly service.
The village has three small supermarkets, each of which provides the full range of food and beverage. More typically, food is bought daily with trips to each of the speciality shops offering fresh bread, vegetables just delivered, freshly made pasta, meats and salamis. Casa San Terenzo is situated beside the bakery, the butcher and the vegetable shop and allows an insight into a world where the quality of a single tomato is worth a ten minute discussion.
The local markets are not to be missed, offering everything for sale from footwear and fashion to hardware, food and handicrafts . Most towns hold a weekly market and the best locally are
Lerici Saturday morning
Sarzana All day Thursday
La Spezia All day Friday
Forte dei Marmi Wednesday morning (considered to be a stylish market)
San Terenzo Friday morning (small market)

- Notes on accommodation: San Terenzo is beautifully situated on the Gulf of Poets, so named for its connection with Lord Byron and Percy Bysshe Shelley. The renowned poets stayed in a villa (near the apartment) in 1829 until Shelley's death by drowning. Liguria at that time was relatively unknown outside Italy and remains so to this day. Very popular with Italian holidaymakers, it offers a unique opportunity to experience a holiday as the Italians do, enjoying the fine food and wine, the beautiful climate and wonderful beaches. Utility Room: The utility room contains the washing machine, vacuum cleaner, deck chairs etc Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All towels, linen and beach towels are included and are changed weekly and the apartment is cleaned weekly. Other: The terrace serves as focal living space throughout the year. It overlooks the sea, has an electronic sun-shade and a circular table. Accessed directly from the kitchen, it allows a wonderful al fresco dining experience.
