Our tranquil apartment is located on the Torrox complex, we have on the complex several bars and restaurants, music bars etc so if you don't want to wander to far it is all there for you including a lovely supermarket which sells fresh bread. At the bottom of our road is Torrox Promenade which has miles of sandy beach, lots of restaurants etc, also at the bottom of our road in either direction are hundreds of miles of beaches an places to stop,look,eat, so much to see and do or just laze around on the patio or the pool, Nerja is only 5 minutes away by car, we do rent a car because of all the lovely area and so many places to go and see in this glorious unspoilt part of Spain. The Alahambra Palace in Granada is only just over an hour away and in the winter you can ski there from November onwards, so snow in the morning and sun in the afternoon, as we are known as the 'California of Spain' as the weather is always hotter here in our little bay than anywhere else on the Costa del Sol. reaching between 38/40 degrees peak summer

We are Georgina and Stephen, we have been married 30 years and have two children, we purchased the property approx 12 years ago and have since spent quite a lot of time here with the children, each and every time we come we buy new things for the apartment or have new work done so the way it looks now is completely different to how we first viewed it. We have tried to make it as homely a possible, so i buy things that I like and make my life happier and easier for when i am there so all our clients have the same as we do, we love it and will continue to share and have our own time there for many years to come

Just wanted to say thank you for the use of your apartment, this is lovely & clean, one of the most well furnished and well equipped apartments we have ever rented. The complex was very quiet and even though we were aware there were other people around you felt as if you were alone, it was heaven! Torrox had a lovely traditional feel to it, you felt as though you were stepping back in time, the promenade & beach so beautiful as was the Montesol Pool

The patio was great and many hours spent lounging in the sun and also into the night. Great local beach,so many restaurants to choose from on the prom and of course nerja which is equisite.would def book again

14 days in the sun in a fabulous loction!

Your appartment was superb. The two of us could rattle around quite happily and it could easily accommodate 4.

The instructions on how to find the appartment are clear and concise and once arrive its easy to get yourself sorted and feel at home.

There are all the creature comforts that you could need and the patio catches the sun from sunrise to sunset. Weather for the first 2 weeks of October from say midday until 5-6pm ish on the balcony, 25 degrees the shade and 40+ in the sun for almost all of the 14 days.

Lovely quiet area with amazing views. The pool is a 3-4 minute walk and is very well kept with showers and toilets.

There are nice shops and bars very close and Nerja is only a 10 minute drive away. Gibraltar is only 2hrs and everywhere is easily accessed.

Wifi was simple to set up and only around 20 pounds for 2 weeks, you just need a paypal account.

I am hoping Stephen and Georgina will let me book again next year.

Family fun in the sun

We enjoyed a fab 10 days at Torrox Park. The owners instructions were accurate and we arrived to a well equipped apartment that my family and I enjoyed. The swimming pool was the highlight of my children's holiday. The surrounding areas were beautiful with plenty to see and do. We loved the restaurants in Torrox Costa especially La Mar Casa and the balcon at Nerja. We loved the scenery of Competa and surrounding areas. The only disappointment was that we longed for air con on the very warm night, however the fan helped significantly. We met lots if wonderful people and will be returning the area next year all being well.

Owner's Response: Hi, great that you enjoyed yourselves as stated in our ad we have always been recognised for having the best equipped apartment in the area. Apart from the large floor standing fan you must have missed the mobile air conditioning unit that is in the living room and can be used wherever needed, it also has a timer and ice cooler so it can be used in accordance with the heat, also in the second bedroom is a revolving fan which has always been greatly appreciated in the height of summer, so we have 3 air con pieces of equipment that can be used, sorry you felt it wasnt enough for you and the family, have never had this complaint before in 10 years as we appreciate the heat can be stifling and what we have provided has been much appreciated in the past.

Lovely just as advertised

We spent a week there in March, the weather was just about right, it was low 20's which is why we love this area of the costa it is alwasy got a sunny climate hence the nickname the 'california of spain' apartment was clean, so well maintained, everything you could wish for including the extras of the shampoo/conditioner body moisturiser etc, very peaceful and quiet but within 2 mins of everything you could possibly need

We fell in love with the apartment the first time we openened the front door and walked out onto the patio and all we heard was the sound of the birds singing, the mountain views were breathtaking, we also love the fact that it is a part of Spain that is not well known but still has a diversity of people living and holidaying here, the town of Nerja is divine with all the cobbled streets and still after all these years we love it every time we open the front door to our little sunshine haven, the one most important reason is the weather, even in the winter it is still around 19 degrees even in November and December so makes it an all year round place to visit

Nearest Airport : Malaga at 40 Kilometres Nearest Ferry : malaga at 70 Kilometres Nearest Golf : 10 minutes by car at 10 Kilometres Nearest Train : Velez malaga at 10 Kilometres Nearest Motorway : 5 mins at 1 Kilometres Nearest Beach : 10/15 min walk at 1 Kilometres Car: recommended

Special interest holidays:

We have several great scuba diving schools locally, we have used Scuba Nerja for nearly ten years with Barney and his family and it is fabulous and the staff are great, you can also do dolphin watching/boat trips, snorkeling and if you want take a PADI diving exam for beginners to Masters. Nearby we also have quad biking which takes avout 2/3 hours going through all the mountains an villages you will not normally see from the road (be prepared to get dirty)/walking/hiking/paragliding/go-karting,(beach football/netball at nights at Torre De mar)We also have the lovely donkey sanctuary which is just a couple of minutes down the road. Horse riding is also very popular in this area, so I cant think of anything else you may want to do that you cannot find within a couple of minutes from our apartment and of course of huge shopping mall for the ladies.

Coast/Beach:

Our nearest beach is Torrox Promenade which is about 1000 metres away, and is lovely and sandy, full of restaurants & chiringuitos, lots of watersports, paddling boats/canoeing etc approx 10/15 min walk or just 2 mins by car, as explained before from there at the bottom of the road are beaches all along the coastline, Torre De Mar is a 2 mile sandy beach about 10 mins away with volleyball, great night time markets etc, the beaches in Nerja especially Burriana is great for scuba and watersports

Travel:

Malaga Airport is approx 45 minutes away by car, it is a very easy Airport to get to and from our apartment, we recc a car hire as so much to see and do within easy driving distance.Unless you want to just relax at the apartment for your time there, the cost of a taxi each way is about the same price as hiring a car for the week. www.malagashuttlebuses.com from 14 euros each way to the torrox

Distances:

Torrox Village you can see from our kitchen window, Nerja is about 5 mins by car, we also have Frigliana/Competa all close by many many Moorish villages to visit, the caves at Nerja are an absolute must both for children and adults, Burriana Beach has great waves and there is a great dive school which caters for all people from beginners to those who are masters at scuba.You can also go dolphin watching or snorkelling out on the boats from the same dive school, also para-sailing and jet skiis.

Further Details:

There is a bus which runs from the station to within about a five minute taxi ride for those who dont want to rent a car, if you change your mind there are plenty of car hire companies down on the promenade. We have a folder which we have complied over the years and gives details of absolutely everything you would want to know about the area within approx 50 miles, including restaurants etc, night life, and also a bit further afield the town past Almeria where the all Western Films were all made, the superb Alahambra Palace in Granada and more locally down on our own costa we have markets which are held several times a week, well worth a visit. In Torre De Mar is the large Eroski shopping complex with Dunnes stores and many other boutiques and clothing/footwear stores/hairdressers/jewellery etc there is also a cinema and bowling site on the same complex, upstairs when you have finished shopping is a huge area of around 20 different restaurants and cafe type places to eat or drink. Very close in Torre De mar is a large waterpark and go-kart racing. We can also arrange for baby equipment and disabled equipment to be delivered to the apartment

Changeover Day:
We try and be flexible with changeover and so if we do not have anyone coming in the same day or early hours we let you stay at the apartment for as long as you can, especially if it is a night flight and you have children

Notes on prices:
Clean - 40 euros - payment via paypal for the rental of the wifi is made direct to the supplier the longer the rental the cheaper the cost
If i have agreed in advance that a pet can be allowed with you whilst in the apartment you must pay an extra 10 euros for the cleaners to make sure that no pet hair/smell is visible or noticeable -extra cleaning will be done throughout
Any fouling anywhere from the rentals pet will result in instant termination of the contract

The property is great as it is only 45 minutes from Malaga Airport and the road is so great with it being one straight motorway all the way there. The property although on a complex it has all the convenience of being in the heart of the community with the bars and restaurant and supermarket on site. Our apartment is great mostly for having the 2nd bathroom, which is a godsend when the children are with us or other adults, there are very few if any other apartments like ours on the complex with the luxury of two bathrooms

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: Our apartment has been rated 5* by local agents, it has totally been re-vamped with all new furnishings, new worktops,newly painted throughout, new tiled patio with furniture, new glass doors for the showers (safety glass of course)we try and make it as comfortable as possible and have had many people say it was the best equipped apartment they have ever stayed in. We also have caretakers who live locally and are on hand to help with any problems you may have no matter how small, we have many many guest book comments and have had our apartment for 8 years now. We have recently had the best WiFi system installed which can be paid for by the hour/week you choose. Our gated swimming pool is divine with the backdrop of the Sierra Nevada,especially with all the hot days we get, we are a few miles from the Costa Tropical so the weather is always a few degrees hotter than anywhere else on the Costa Del Sol it is divine, little known piece of paradise that we like to keep to ourselves Outside: We have a garden area outside the patio which is maintained beautifully but you can also use it to play on there is lots of grass, the patio which is south facing has a table and chairs with sunbeds and other chairs plus parasols, the beautiful pool is about a 2 min walk from our apartment and is stunning with the mountains as the backdrop and never busy or crowded swimming pool. Where our apartment is situated is at the very end of the complex, so is very quiet, the children can play outside the front or the back without any worries or problems, great for sitting outside on the patio until the early hours if you wish to do so. We are metres away from dry riverbed which runs down to the coastline/Beach so a great walk, if you like hiking/walking then we are also in the best part of the complex for this. Utility Room: We have a mobile air conditioning unit which is great for the summer, large floor fan (which can also be used out on patio) and small rotating one for the 2nd bedroom, for the winter we have an oil filled radiator which heats the apartment very quickly Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Included towels for the apartment, iron and ironing board, hair dryer with various attachments all bed linen and toiletries (shampoo/conditioner/shower gel/suntan cream factor 8 - 50/aftersun/body moisturer/hairspray etc) no extras to bring. Other: Dining area- breakfast bar with stools. Patio -sliding double doors opens out onto large south-facing sun-kissed patio, sun loungers and patio table and chairs complete with cushions. Parasol for the patio and also other parasols to take to beach or pool
