Our one bedroom air-conditioned apartment is located at the Top of the Old Town in Albufeira. Ideally located for all tastes with Fisherman’s Beach just a 2 minute walk and the bars, restaurants and shops within 300m - the apartment is set within the Bay View complex which has a large swimming pool, children’s splash pool and relaxing garden area. The apartment has floor to ceiling windows all with a sea views and a balcony where you can relax in private.

Bay View Algarve has free secure private WiFi access.

About the Owner

Owned and managed by Husband and Wife Team, Darren and Gail Sykes, we live in Sao Bras de Alportel in the Eastern Algarve and have over 9 years experience of managing self-catering holiday rentals in this area. We purchased our apartment in the Bay View complex in January 2013 and have spent time re-furbishing it to a high standard.

May 2013 We have had a lovely time. This apartment is well positioned not to have to walk far to enjoy Albufeira's Old Town, shops, bars and beaches.

June 2013 Thank you for a wonderful stay in the middle of beautiful Albufeira. The apartment is really nice and we took time to cook a lot of food. We hope to be back again some day :-)



2-9 June 2014 Our parents spent a beautiful week at Gail's apartment... Everything in the apartment was perfect and the assistance given by Gail before booking, during their stay and afterwards was extraordinary .. It is lovely to find that exceptional courtesy nowadays. Needless to mention the location of the apartment is unsurpassed with convenience to shops, beach and restaurants all within minutes. We would sincerely recommend this apartment for all of the above and will certainly be booking again with Gail.

Another excellent stay

Just wanted to say yet again another fab stay at Bayview. The addition of the new balcony was great and really finishes the apartment off. Gail & Darren were great hosts as always and the apartment was comfy, clean and as fab as last year. The only negative we have about our stay is that it went far too quickly. Looking forward to next year already :-) 10/10

Lovely relaxing holiday

This was our 12th trip to albufeira, and after a 2 years break we were really looking forward to it. We arrived at the apartment to be meeted and greeted by Gail & Darren who were very welcoming,and there for our arrival , they showed us around. The apartment was fab, just what we like. Clean modern, all the little home from home extras, inc beach towels. We weren't disappointed. Ideally located for both the old town and the beach, 5 minute walk to both. We prefer the beach than the pool but the pool area looked nice and well equipped but for us it's fishermans beach every time. With the added bonus of the lift up from the beach, it was an ideal opportunity to sample a sagres, outside bar Bizarro...our evenings were mainly spent sitting outside bar A Mare in the old square:) followed by the lovely home cooked Portuguese food at O Veileiro....try it, it's fab, along the main cobbled street 3 courses inc a bottle house white all or about 30 euros for 2. We love it there for either a light lunch or evening meal. Shalom also worth a visit and also ricardos near the sea front. There's a take away across the rd from the apartment and we tried a pizza from there twice, they were very good. Excellent little coffee bar down the road for a Tia Maria coffee and a great little supermarket opposite too. Basically the apartment was all we could ask for, ideally located, comfy, well equipped, ace power shower, all utensils, tv, DVD.....and with the added balcony to be in soon it will be superb..... We are already looking at our flights for next year and can't wait to go back. We would highly recommend the apartment and are missing albufeira already . If only we could get that lottery win! Ideal & Welcoming Base

We found this property to be an ideal & welcoming base for our family holiday. I stayed here with my 14 yr old twin girls and 23 yr old daughter for 16 nights.

The Bay View block is conveniently situated on the edge of the Old Town, away from the hubbub but only 3-5 minutes walk from The Square, tunnel/lift to the beach.

It has been renovated with a spacious & tastefully finished outdoor space complemented by seating areas.

There is a well maintained & good sized family pool with loungers, umbrellas & an array of lilo's & children's games which we all enjoyed using.

The poolside amenities were awaiting renovation when we were there but I have no doubt that if the specification is similar to the rest of the property then they will be great too.

The apartment was well placed at the front of the block on the 3rd floor with great views. Gail told us they hope to build a balcony onto the lounge which will be a fantastic addition.

The roof terrace was up 2 floors & vast, we got some great photo's from it.

There is a roomy lift that was much appreciated as my 3 girls had huge suitcases crammed full to bursting!

We were concerned that we would be disturbed by the church bells but not the case as it is not used for services anymore, the church further down did ring their bells on Sunday, but not until mid-morning!

The bus stop & taxi rank are steps away from the block just the other side of the church.

The secure parking space & lift was really appreciated when we had shopping, Aldi's is a 3 min taxi/car ride away! There are minimarkets, booking kiosk & lovely patisserie 20 yds away.

We were able to cook "proper" meals as the kitchen was well stocked with a good variety of utensils, pans etc & everything was clean & like new.

The girls made good use of the tv/radio & wished they had brought their ipods/dvd's as the media centre was a bonus!

My eldest daughter slept on the sofa bed (very roomy) & the twins & I had the double bed & optional single in the bedroom.

The beds were spotlessly clean (firm!) & the linen was fresh & complimented the contemporary d?cor.

There was a roomy chest of drawers & a small built in wardrobe (with a compact safe) ensured we were able to fully unpack. We stored cases under the bed to max space.

The shower room was very clean but the lighting was a little dim for makeup!

Excellent; customer service, booking ease, transfers, security deposit returned on departure, cleanliness, amenities, restaurants & bars nearby. Highly recommended.

The apartment is situated in an ideal situation above the Old Town which means access to the beach, bars, shops and restaurants are within a few minutes walk.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Faro Airport at 20 Kilometres Nearest Beach : Fishermans Beach at 0.1 Kilometres Car: not necessary

Coast/Beach:

The fabulous Fisherman's Beach is within a 5 minute walk of the apartment (lift down to the beach available).

Travel:

Faro Airport is approximately 40 minutes by car Car hire is not essential, however the apartment does benefit from a secure underground parking space for those who choose to. We can arrange transfers with our Partner Company - please enquire for prices.

Albufeira Old Town - 300m

Beach - 2 minutes walk

Golf - 3 courses within 10 minute drive

Mini Market - 1 minute walk

Further Details:

There are plenty of mini-markets, shops and banks within a two minute walk of the apartment and there are larger supermarkets within a 15 minute walk.

The sightseeing and regular circular route bus stops and Taxi Rank are located on the opposite side of Santa Ana Church - just a stones throw away from Bay View
