About the Owner

My wife and I, lived most our lives in several countries. 32 years ago, looking for a Greek Island to make our home, we discovered Skopelos and fell in love upon arrival.

Recently, we had the Red House built & furnished it with our collection of art, furniture & rugs from our travels.

What appeals to us, is the beauty of nature, the pine trees, the olive groves, the fruit trees and flowers, the beaches with crystal clear water, ever changing shades of blue and turquoise, the golden sand.

We have found hospitality and friendship from the people of the island, not just the locals, but also, the many "outsiders" like us from all over the world who chose Skopelos as their home.

There is so much to do here, but if you wish to find peace & solitude, there is that too, under an olive tree.

"The first and lasting impression of The Red House is one of an idyllic paradise that is perfect for relaxation.

The generous veranda has a magnificent view of Skopelos Bay and the island of Alonissos and affords plenty of room for alfresco dining with the option of the BBQ.

The scenery at the back of the villa is equally rewarding with several small valleys leading up to the ridge of hills covered with olive and pine trees.

Within the grounds there is an olive grove, walnut, almond, fig and other fruit trees.

The architecture and décor is detailed and a delight to behold, making for a warm and welcoming ambiance.

The location is peaceful, only the sound of nature to accompany ones thoughts.

The private pool is rather special in that it uses salt treated water, not chlorinated.

We always stay at 5 star self-catering apartments/villas for our holidays and The Red House has exceeded our expectations. We plan to return."

Get away from the usual tourist crowds

  • 5 of 5

Simply put — we loved it! We had one of the best holidays ever and can’t wait to go back.

Skopelos isn’t the typical tourist destination, and all the better for that. Can’t think of a better place to go to disconnect and relax. It’s quiet during the day and comes alive in the evening with crowds of all age groups.

I’ve been to the island several times over the years, with my parents, friends, extended family, etc.

During my last trip with my partner, we stayed 10 days at the Red House, and we both agreed that we should have stayed longer, the beauty of the place and the serenity it provides is out of this world!

We spent many hours by the pool, surrounded by an olive grove, pine covered rolling hills, and greenery as far as the eye can see. Enjoying the warm summer days, reading books, listening to the sound of crickets.

The sunrise views from the veranda were breathtaking.

We were having our morning coffee on the armchairs on the veranda, before moving to the table for breakfast.

Same for our alfresco dining experience. The Red House's distance from the town centre allows for a beautiful stargazing experience after dinner.

The housekeeping staff were friendly and provided excellent service, and consideration to out privacy.

The house was regularly cleaned and fresh bedding and towels provided throughout our stay. Well decorated, fitted out to an extremely high standard, and has been superbly maintained, provides all the comforts one can think of, and definitely a pleasure to get back to at the end of the day.

We rented a car during our stay and it was extremely convenient to get anywhere — beaches, taverns, restaurants, supermarket, etc… were all a short, and leisurely drive away, along the country roads.

We had a great stay, would recommend it to anyone who wants to visit Skopelos and get the best out of their stay, we will certainly go back, alone or with friends.

red house in skopelos

  • 5 of 5

I spent 2 weeks in the red house in skopelos together with family and friends. The house was perfect: the outdoor space and swimming pool were greatly appreciated by early risers, waiting for the rest of the party to wake up. The well equipped kitchen gave us the opportunity to easily organize dinners for the 2 families and the outdoor BBQ was a cosy alternative. The bed rooms have sufficient cupboard space and the house is kept clean by an efficient team twice a week. A car is necessary to move from the house to the village and beaches. The 2 mo'peds we rented proved to be tricky to use on the steep road connecting the house to the village.

From the Owner

In the daytime, you have the company of the cicadas and singing birds. And on clear cloudless nights, one can enjoy stargazing due to lack of light pollution, and absent wind, experience a silence similar to that of a recording studio.
