About the property

Villa in Ostuni, Brindisi Province, Puglia, Italy - Sleeps 6 All EnSuite Sea Views of Adriatic & Castle Large Terraces Air Con Shade

This holiday home has all the character of stone vaulted rooms and conical trullo but with the convenience of a newly renovated, well insulated design. Six 5 star reviews on Tripadvisor. Very good unlimited wifi included. Modern bathrooms and kitchen with professional cooker. Look out from the veranda over the pool to the Aloes and Olive trees, or from the roof terrace, great for evening parties, to the Adriatic or the beautifully lit Carovigno and its castle. Seven minutes drive to Ostuni, the white city, "the jewel of Puglia" with its wonderful old city to explore by day or enjoy in the warm night air. Relax in old bars, or the sophisticated modernity melted into the solid stone. Carovigno has a lot to offer from gourmet to great value restaurants with fantastic food and low prices. Italians choose to holiday here. The veranda has an outside kitchen, popular in southern Italy, and we have two barbecues. The local fish, meat and vegetables are exceptional so you can go into town later and chill, or just watch the sun go down, poolside.

Villa Acacia is in Ostuni, with all the convenience that gives in getting around and to the beaches etc. Many properties now coming up, under a new Ownersdirect system, for an "Ostuni" search are up to thirty kilometers distance and are far from convenient. Many roads here are single track and compare similarly to driving times for distances in Cornwall for example.

About Will Sanderson

"From the start of booking to the return of our deposit the owner has been top class. His one concern being that we have everything we need plus giving very helpful advice for trips, eating etc." Trip Advisor 5 star review.

"One more thing – the proprietor, Will Sanderson, is a true gem and the ultimate in hospitality. He very patiently acquainted us with the nearby town, showing us the supermarket, fish store, the better bread store and the not-so-better bread store, the best place to get local wine and the restaurants and night spots. Then, going one step beyond, he stepped in to help us through a medical emergency and assisted us in arranging some emergency flight plans, for which I am most grateful. If you book this villa, consider Will one its assets." Trip Advisor 5 star review

Why Will Sanderson chose Brindisi area

Very convenient but tranquil. Many properties in Puglia are remote to the extent of inconvenience when you wish to go anywhere. Villa Acacia is in a great location, away from it all yet within 5 minutes drive you can be in Ostuni or Carovigno and in 10 minutes at the beaches or on the motorway, to Lecce for example.

What makes this villa unique

The olive grove here is particularly nice, of a good size with trees of over one hundred years, and with views out to the Adriatic. If you leave a review we will send you a litre of our olive oil to your home - you can taste the difference!

A fantastic week away in a lovely villa

  • 5 of 5

Great location for a truly relaxing week. Villa is in character with the area with all the mod cons you could need for a perfect holiday. We ate out locally in Carovigno and Ostuni and also in at the villa. The rooftop table was superb for a sunny breakfast. with beautiful views. Will was the perfect host even arranging a cookery day which we thoroughly enjoyed. While we were in residence a little cat arrived looking very sad and beaten up. We think she had been abandoned. We fed and cuddled her back to health and called her Squiffy. She seems to like the Villa Acacia as her new home.

Great villa

  • 5 of 5

A pure delight .....nestled among olive trees the white arches of the villa and the domed trullo are a charming complement to the inviting blue pool.

Every bedroom had an on suite bathroom, the kitchen was well equipped and champagne was chilling in the frig.

The roof terrace was a great place to watch the stars at night.

Our host Will was outstanding ...helpful , accommodating ,attentive and patient with all our needs.

A beautiful Villa and Trulli.

  • 5 of 5

Two beautiful properties rolled into one.

We have just spent a week in the rustic countryside of Puglia, among olive trees, pear trees, fig trees, mandarin trees, lime trees etc.

Both the Villa and Trulli are very well equipped and the swimming pool is perfect to swim and cool off in.

The area is very quiet with a view of the Adriatic from the flat rooftop area.

The Trulli and Villa are very clean and well maintained.

The owner was friendly and most helpful and gave good customer service.

I would recommend this property to friends and relatives and we will certainly be going back for another stay.

We encountered quite a few mosquitos but this is to be expected as we were out in the countryside.

Wonderful property, wonderful location.

Thankyou Will you made us feel very welcome.

Beautiful Property in a stunning location

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from the most wonderful, relaxing holiday in the beautiful Villa Acacia. We were met by the delightful owner Will, who throughout the week was on hand to give wonderful restaurant, beach and trip recommendations. Nothing was too much trouble. He arrived with fishing rods for my son, delicious cake from Cafe Chocolate for us to enjoy. I must admit to being rather a lazy traveller who likes to plonk myself by a pool with a book and not move, but Will is so enthusiastic about the area we even managed a few cultural outings!! The villa was imacculatly clean and two of the three bedrooms were beautiful trullo. The pool was extremely clean and well maintained, and Puglia laid on 7 days of wall to wall sun. A "trulli" fabulous holiday.

Beautiful Villa/Trullo in lovely part of Puglia

  • 5 of 5

Villa Acacia is a charming property, and has been renovated to a high standard with care taken to preserve its unique features. It offered all the modern amenities you would expect, with lots of space to spread out and relax. We were delighted to find almonds, walnuts, lemons, and figs all growing in the grounds of the villa. The location, between pretty Ostuni and Carovigno, was a great base from which to explore Puglia, and we were able to fit in a couple of great day trips. One to Lecce and Otranto, and another taking in Albertobello, Locorotondo, and Martina Franca. Bicycles were available at the villa for those wanting to explore locally.

Will is a truly great host and could not have been kinder. He gave us lots of good recommendations on local restaurants and places worth visiting, such as the best nearby beaches.

It is one of the only villas we would genuinely like to go back to and I would definitely recommend this property as a place to unwind and sample the charm of Puglia.

Owner's Response: Thank you. And you will be most welcome to return. We have tried to make Villa Acacia a tranquil and relaxing home from home with everything you might need. Puglia has so much in depth to offer - there is always another lovely blue flag beach to discover or a beautiful town, ancient site or market to explore. The Pugliese are so friendly too, and coupled with fantastic food and great wine the days here are very relaxed. The evenings and nights can have great sophistication and a lovely vibe. I look forward to your return to this wonderful part of the world. Best wishes, Will

Further Details:

Ostuni, the "Citta Bianca" is a magical place especially in the evenings. The architecture is a mix of all things southern Mediterranean. It looks like a north African town. Eating, drinking and relaxing out in the open air late into the night is a joy, for all ages. In July and more so in August the main Piazzas of Ostuni and Carovigno have live entertainment of all sorts of high quality, culminating in the Saint Oronzo horse parade in Ostuni on August 25/26th. Martina Franca has an Opera festival in July. Ostuni and Carovigno are working towns that operate all year round. This is a mainly agricultural area. Northern Puglia grows most of the dram wheat for the pasta of Italy, & the region makes as much wine as Australia but, this particular area is best known for it's olive oil. Olive tress are everywhere which give the view a green 'carpet'. The soil here is highly fertile and wonderful vegetables are available. The Markets tend to be on different days in different towns. Carovigno's is Tuesday morning, Ostuni has a full market on a Saturday morning and a vegetable market on a Wednesday morning. There are good supermarkets and smaller specialist grocers, butchers, fish vendors, cheese makers, wine, and fresh pasta shops in both towns.

There are blue flag beaches within a ten minute drive, (Torre Pozzelle is visible from the olive grove), and many other lovely beaches and coves to swim, snorkel, and sunbathe. In the summer evenings the coastal villages come alive with music, street vendors, ice cream parlours, restaurants and bars.

The beautiful Baroque towns of Lecce, Martina Franca, Locorotondo and the Famous Trulli of Alberobello are all a short drive.
