Sea view apartment in Fowey, Cornwall, England - Situated In A Prime Area Of Fowey, Short Stroll To The Beach, 10 Minutes Walk To The Town

The 1920s house has been in the Edleston family since it was built. Over the past four years the property has been comprehensively modernised and is truly lovely. The apartment have been completely renovated in to high, modern standard. The open plan living arrangement includes TVs in the sitting area and both bedrooms. A bed settee (suitable for one comfortable adult) can replace one of the usual settees. There is central heating and a gas fire. The kitchen area includes dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer and fridge/freezer. There is a good size bathroom with a walk in shower. Internet access includes super fast broadband. There is a small barbeque area in the back garden and access to the seaward balcony. The driveway is gated, well illuminated and parking is close to the apartment. All towels and bed linen are provided. The owners are also willing to accept delivery of any internet shopping orders on the first day of occupancy. It is suitable for people with limited mobility. Guests may use the swimming pool and hot tub at the Fowey Hall Hotel, free of charge (including towels etc.).

About Chris Edleston

I live in the the main house adjoining the apartment, with my wife Carol. The house was originally built in the 1920s by my great grandfather and when you see the house it is not difficult to see why the house has never left the family!

We moved back to the house following the death of my father, 5 years ago. We absolutely love living in Fowey, it truly is a wonderful place. The renovation of the house and apartment has been a labour of love.

We spend our time boating and walking and enjoying community life in Fowey. We have a good knowledge of the area which we would be happy to share with you. We are keen to ensure that our guests grow to love Fowey life as we have done over the years.

Why Chris Edleston chose Fowey

We were living on the North Yorks Moors on a small farm when we had the opportunity to buy the remainder of the house. My wife and I were stood looking at the view over Readymoney and the sea and we knew that there was no way in which we could let our family heirloom go. We left our life in Yorkshire and have never had a moment of regret.

Looking from the house you can see the Fowey River estuary, the sea, Readymoney beach and the light reflecting on Covington Woods - it is glorious. We launch our kayak from the beach, stroll along the stunning cliff tops, have barbeques on the beach and sail around the creeks and inlets which are so picturesque.

Fowey is a very sociable place and we have many friends. The local church is very active and welcoming.

What makes this apartment unique

Whether you like isolation or socialising, nothing is far from our home. We can easily leave our car parked all week and have a great time in and around Fowey.

The apartment 'Beach View' could also be called sea view, wood view or even estuary view - the choice is yours!

Most properties in the traditional town of Fowey have many steps and challenging access. With onsite parking and few steps our apartment is perfect for those with limited mobility.

Living in a prime residential area we do not have the noise associated with close proximity to pubs and restaurants. We can hear the sounds of laughter from the beach, and the waves on the shore as we drift off to sleep - it is a lovely place to be!

Outside: The barbeque area is situated close to the apartment with four steps. It is very private and south facing, comprising of mainly hard areas with some planting. It has a barbecue, outdoor dining and limited space for sunbathing. It is illuminated for evening use. This area is solely for the use of the Beach View apartment. There is a balcony with excellent sea, beach and wooded views. Parking is adjacent to the barbeque area and is suitable for one vehicle. The driveway is gated and well illuminated. Although there is a view of the seaward garden, this garden is for the private use of the owners. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All towels and bed linen are provided.

Beautiful and private 2-bedroom apartment in lovely Fowey

Chris and Carol's well-appointed 2-bedroom apartment has wonderful light with a lovely ocean view. The location is within easy walking distance of the charming village center. The bathroom is spacious and luxurious. We were very happy with our stay at this charming and private apartment and highly recommend it!

Wonderful view , great location.

We had a great 5 day break in this lovely apartment with a wonderful view over the mouth of the river Fowey from the balcony.

The apartment has everything you need for a short break or a week or 2.

It is in a great location , the centre of Fowey is within reasonably easy walking distance.

A perfect base for exploring this lovely part of Cornwall.

The owners are very friendly and welcoming and on hand should you need anything.

Holiday Heaven

Our first visit to Cornwall after many years. We were fortunate enough this time to choose beautiful Fowey and also to stay in this luxury apartment.

From our arrival, with a warm welcome from Chris, and later with friendly chats with Carol we felt very relaxed.

A delightful, spacious and spotless apartment with stunning views in an ideal location for strolling into Fowey or along the coastal path.

A great weeks holiday.

This appartment is situated in a lovely quiet part of Fowey. The accommodation was very well equipped and very clean. The veiws from the balcony look out to sea and part of Polruan, and gets a good deal of sunshine throughout the day.

A real plus for this property is it has private off road parking, very important in this town.

The owners Chris and Carol are very obliging and on hand if you have any issues.

In all a great weeks holiday, blessed with good weather. We will definitely be returning.

Fabulous views

Despite the weather we had a great holiday in Fowey. Lovely apartment with brilliant views. Readymoney Cove is a five minute walk and it's just a short wander into the centre of Fowey. We will definitely return again.

Readymoney Cove is easily accessible from the apartment. It is a typical Cornish cove with a sandy beach and a diving platform in the summer months. It is in a lovely location, forming part of the National Trust coastline, which is truly stunning. There are other coves and beaches within easy walking distance, including Pridmouth which inspired Daphne DuMaurier's novel 'Rebecca'. The coastal walks are ranked to be some of the best in the country.


Newquay Airport (28 miles). The nearest railway station is in Par (5 miles). Taxis can be booked in advance. Once in Fowey all the amenities of the town, beach and surrounding countryside can be accessed on foot. There are ferries to Bodinnick, Polruan and Mevagissey.

Asda, Tesco and Sainsbury's provide internet shopping deliveries. The onsite owners are very happy to accept the order during the afternoon of the first day of occupancy.


The lovely riverside walk (1/2 mile) to Fowey. Polkerris beach - dinghy sailing, windsurfing and beach side restaurant (3 miles). The Eden Project is well worth a visit (7 miles). St Austell has a multi-screen cinema, nightclubs and a range of shops, including ASDA and Tesco (8 miles). Siblyback Lake for waterski-ing and cable wake boarding (21 miles). Newquay area for many attractions and surfing facilities (28 miles). Numerous National Trust properties including Lanhydrock (12 miles).

Further Details:

Fowey has a range of pubs, restaurants and shops. The town centre is old and very typically Cornish. The Royal Fowey Yacht Club provides facilities to visiting yachtsmen and short term membership is available at the Gallants Sailing Club. Sailing lessons are provided. There are Spa facilities at the Fowey Hall Hotel. There are facilities to launch and hire boats and kayaks. Guided tours of Fowey are available. There is a thriving Church of England church.
