About the Owner

I live in the the main house adjoining the apartment, with my wife Carol. The house was originally built in the 1920s by my great grandfather and when you see the house it is not difficult to see why the house has never left the family!

We moved back to the house following the death of my father, 5 years ago. We absolutely love living in Fowey, it truly is a wonderful place. The renovation of the house and apartment has been a labour of love.

We spend our time boating and walking and enjoying community life in Fowey. We have a good knowledge of the area which we would be happy to share with you. We are keen to ensure that our guests grow to love Fowey life as we have done over the years.

Wonderful apartment with an amazing view

  • 5 of 5

Myself, my husband and our 3 children have just returned from our stay in this wonderful apartment. On arrival Carol was very welcoming and showed us around the apartment.

There are 2 good sized double bedrooms and Carol kindly put a fold up bed in one of the bedrooms so the 3 kids could all be in one room.

The view is simply stunning and there is a small balcony where you can sit and relax and take in the view of Fowey habour and beyond. The apartment is in a great location and only a short walk down to Readymoney cove and about a 10 minute walk into Fowey.

An added perk is that you can use the swimming pool and hot tub at Fowey Hall Hotel down the road, this was great and the kids loved the swimming.

The apartment was very clean and very cosy. It has all the appliances you need and more. There are games, books DVD's and a Wii which the kids had fun playing on and also fast wifi available.

We had a lovely stay and would highly recommend this apartment. Carol was very welcoming and happy to answer any queries we had.

Thank you so much for a wonderful stay, we will be back again soon I hope

New Year Celebrations in Fowey

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I have been visiting Cornwall for many years and have always wanted to stay in Fowey. We visited Fowey earlier this year and decided to return to see in the New Year. Clean, comfortable and well maintained accommodation is a must and wow! we weren't disappointed with this beautiful apartment. Perfectly located overlooking Readymoney Cove the view is superb! A short stroll into the main town is 10 minutes away, close enough if you want it but not too far away that you feel out of it. Everything you need for perfect accommodation was waiting for us at this apartment. Every modern appliance available, even a Bose docking station. The apartment was warm and cosy should you decide to spend the evening in and you could spend hours sat at the dining room table watching the sea. A huge advantage was off road parking which is quite rare in Fowey and Chris was extremely welcoming and helpful and available should you need any help. I would definitely recommend this wonderful apartment and we will most certainly return again.

Best location in Fowey!!

  • 5 of 5

This was my first visit to Fowey and it was wonderful, I can't wait to return and when I do it will definitely be to this apartment. It is comfortable and very attractively designed and furnished, I couldn't have hoped for more. Parking was a great advantage of this property as it is definitely at a premium in this area. The apartment overlooks Readymoney Cove which is undoubtedly the most beautiful part of the town. It would be well suited to couples and families, I was staying with my parents on this trip but hope to return with my husband. The walk in to the small town is just a short distance where there are fantastic restaurants, pubs and beautiful independent shops. We went on a river tour of Fowey but you can also hire boats by the hour. There are regular ferry boats over to Polruan on the opposite side of the harbour all of which are reasonably priced. We visited Polkerris on a lovely warm evening, which was a 10 minute drive but I would imagine is also a lovely cliff top walk from Readymoney, and had a meal at Sams Restaurant on the beach which is a must for seafood lovers. Couldn't recommend highly enough!

Lovely apartment with Superb Views

  • 5 of 5

We have just arrived back from a superb holiday in this lovely, stylish and spotlessly clean apartment close to Ready Money cove. The facilities were excellent and many an evening was spent on our private balcony overlooking the sea, enjoying a glass of wine before the walk into Fowey for dinner. Also, many thanks to the owners of this beautiful property who made us very welcome and the flowers from their allotment were specially appreciated. Hope to be back again next year.

Perfect Appartment, Perfect Locaton

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this apartment in May 2014 whilst celebrating our silver wedding anniversary. I can say without reservation that the apartment is perfect. It has it all, location, facilities, parking (critical in Fowey) and absolutely fantastic views over the estuary and readymoney cove.

The apartment is fully equipped to a very high, modern and contemporary standard – bath, shower, washing machine, dishwasher, fully fitted kitchen, balcony, TV’s in the bedrooms. We had no complaints whatsoever.

The apartment is a short (10 minute) walk from the centre of Fowey, 2-3 minutes from readymoney cove and beach and 5 minutes from the Polruan and Mevagissey ferry departure point.

It is also perfectly located for walkers, we did the Polruan to Bodinnick walk and took the ferries to and from Fowey and also the walk to Gribbens head along the coastal path. Both had breath-taking views.

Cornwall is a foodies paradise and Fowey is no different with numerous places to eat good food and local specialities – crab, mussels, fish and seafood are all abundant. The village itself has various bakeries, general stores, eateries and other shops and is generally vibrant, certainly whilst we were there.

We had a wonderful stay in Fowey and would not hesitate to recommend this apartment to others.

Tasteful & Comfortable Apartment

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful and very comfortable apartment on which work has only recently been completed. The apartment was spotlessly clean and was finished to a high standard . We enjoyed a wonderful week here in July (the sun shone for most of the week too !) and Fowey is a beautiful and authentic Cornish harbour village. Some great coastal walks across to Polkerris and a spot of lunch at the Rashleigh Inn. We also went a little further afield up to Perranporth with its amazing beach and a trip to Looe which was very pleasant. Worth having dinner at the Globe Posting House restaraunt in Fowey - amazing fish pie.

Location

From the Owner

We were living on the North Yorks Moors on a small farm when we had the opportunity to buy the remainder of the house. My wife and I were stood looking at the view over Readymoney and the sea and we knew that there was no way in which we could let our family heirloom go. We left our life in Yorkshire and have never had a moment of regret. Looking from the house you can see the Fowey River estuary, the sea, Readymoney beach and the light reflecting on Covington Woods - it is glorious. We launch our kayak from the beach, stroll along the stunning cliff tops, have barbeques on the beach and sail around the creeks and inlets which are so picturesque. Fowey is a very sociable place and we have many friends. The local church is very active and welcoming.

Facilities

From the Owner

Whether you like isolation or socialising, nothing is far from our home. We can easily leave our car parked all week and have a great time in and around Fowey. The apartment 'Beach View' could also be called sea view, wood view or even estuary view - the choice is yours! Most properties in the traditional town of Fowey have many steps and challenging access. With onsite parking and few steps our apartment is perfect for those with limited mobility. Living in a prime residential area we do not have the noise associated with close proximity to pubs and restaurants. We can hear the sounds of laughter from the beach, and the waves on the shore as we drift off to sleep - it is a lovely place to be!
