About Olivia Molyneux

Fern Cottage is owned by the lovely Rodger & Jenny Vickers who both recently retired and live in the village at Brosterfield Hall. The cottage is now managed by me - Liv, and my parents - Stephen & Penny Molyneux. We also own and run the Brosterfield Farm holiday cottages which also in the village of Foolow.

Why Olivia Molyneux chose Derbyshire Dales

Fern Cottage is located in the lovely countryside village of Foolow. Just a skip from your front door you'll find the local duck pond, village green and local pub.

Pubs:

If you're after tradition pub grub, a warming atmosphere, good ales and a friendly landlord the Bulls Head is the perfect place.

The famed "Barrel" at Bretton is also a must, enjoy a good traditional ale overlooking to breathtaking views down the valley above Foolow.

Shops:

Around 1.5 miles away in Eyam, is the closest village shop to Brosterfield.

A short 3 miles down the road to Calver Cross Roads, you can find local farmer's produce as well as all the big brands products.

Bakewell is the nearest market town with loads of local and well known shops and holds a weekly market very Monday.

Sheffield and Chesterfield are each only half an hour’s drive away. Manchester is easily accessed by both road and local train stations, which about an hour away by rail.

Lovely old stone cottage.

  • 4 of 5

Traditional cosy stone cottage, with a garage & parking space. Cottage was small but perfectly formed & had all that you would need for a warm & comfortable stay. In a excellent location with a good pub just down the lane.

Pretty dales village with ducks on the pond & very friendly villagers. Many walks from the door, easy reach of Tideswell, Bakewell, Chatsworth, etc.
