Still the best

We have just returned from another fantastic week spent in the cottage. This was our second visit & it was like coming home. The owners cannot do enough for their guests.

The cottage is tastefully decorated & everything you need is there. It is just a short walk into the village, shops & beach.

The garden is very pleasant to while away a couple of peaceful hours. A proper wee suntrap.

We would recommend the cottage to anyone & are planning on returning year after year.

Fantastic hidden gem

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Crab Pot Cottage last easter & had a wonderful holiday. The cottage is everything that it says on the site & so much more. The cottage is just a short walk to the harbour & village. Julie (the owner) has thought of everything. It is so bright & homely with lots of little touches. Julie is also excellent to deal with, no question is too much trouble (& believe me I asked loads) always a prompt cheery reply. We loved it so much we are returning again this year & hopefully for a lot of years to come.

From the Owner

As a family we decided to buy a cottage in this area mostly because of the proximity to the coast. However, as we've got to know the village we've found we love the bustling little harbour and the beautiful scenery. When the South Westerlies blow the sea becomes dramatic and wild with waves crashing over the old granite pier and harbour walls.

From the Owner

Porthleven is ideally situated. It's close to the stunning Lizard Peninsula and near other places of interest such as St Michaels Mount and the amazing Minnack Theatre - worth a visit just to see this incredible construction. Lands End is an easy drive away as are the Eden Project, Falmouth Maritime Museum and several NT Properties. But right on the doorstep is a beautiful beach and SW coast path which are our personal favourites. There are several excellent restaurants in the village and we often enjoy a cup of tea in one of the cafes which serve snacks and delicious cakes. We also like visiting one of the 3 pubs, The Atlantic and the Ship Inn being our favourites. We love it here because we enjoy walking and being by the sea - perfect!
