About Martin Jezzard

Heather and I live in Warwickshire with our two grown-up daughters and assorted much loved pets. We bought our present house around seven years ago and have spent much of the time since restoring the property, and latterly the dilapidated outbuildings.

Why Martin Jezzard chose Southam

We love Priors Marston and the surrounding area. It's quiet and rural, with lovely walks, whilst excellent shops and places to visit are within easy reach.

What makes this cottage unique

We restored the outbuildings at our property to provide the sort of accommodation we look for when we go away on holiday. A peaceful place from which to enjoy a lovely part of the country.

An old map revealed that the building had once been a Smithy - hence its name!

Guestbook comments from the manager

Many thanks for a lovely week in your cottage. Delightful. KP&D 07/13.

It was everything we could have wished for. The property could not be faulted. It is comfortably furnished, has all modern facilities and has a nice private seated patio area and a BBQ and for those rainy evenings there is a modern 42" flat screen TV and a large selection of DVD's, books and games. The village pub is a very short stroll away and the food is good, as are the cask ales.

we have already recommended to family and friends. SL&C 07/13

It was a lovely cottage and from the moment we walked in the door we knew we were going to be happy and comfortable there. There is a nice area with the property for sitting outside which is completely private which will be lovely in the summer. We would recommend. D & R 05/13

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Facilities 1st rate and an excellent base for visiting the surrounding countryside. We will definitely be back. B&J, Scotland. 04/13

Fantastic cottage for a great long weekend retreat

  • 5 of 5

Really great cottage, comfortable, stylist, spacious (and great CD collection for any muso's oug there!) There we four of us and a dog, and we had plenty of space. Great base for exploring the countryside, with a few decent pub walks - would recomend The Folly on the canal at Napton on the Hill.

Great, super dog friendly cottage in a lovely village right next to the pub!

We didn't want to leave!

The layout of the cottage is really social and practical for furry family members. It was really comfortable and well equipped. Martin was really helpful with suggestions of things to do when we arrived and there was a lemon drizzle cake too - what more could you ask for! We were able to walk straight out of the cottage onto foot paths and the nearby canal. Close to Southam and Royal Lemington Spa.

The garden is secure for dogs and sheltered and we sat outside even though it was early April. A little Muntjac deer even came and peaked into the garden one day!

Parking is great just right outside the door and having Wifi is really handy too.

We both thought that this was one of the nicest cottages we have ever stayed in. 5*'s definitely!

Fabulous accommodation and location

  • 5 of 5

A little difficult to find but once there the accommodation was fabulous. We arrived to find the place warm and welcoming with a homemade cake and 2 litres of milk in the fridge. The next day a bottle of wine appeared as well! The beds were comfortable and the kitchen well stocked. The only issue was lack of wifi which along with terrible mobile signal made communications difficult - Martin assured us that this would be sorted in the coming week as they have been having a lot of problems with it. It was ideal for our needs and would definitely return.

Owner's Response: thanks for this lovely review. We've decided to put WiFi directly into the cottage rather than trying to provide it via the main house WiFi - hopefully this will fix the issue and we'll be able to advertise the cottage as having WiFi!

Great property, great location

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely 3 days at the cottage. Welcomed by bottle of wine and lovely home made lemon cake! The property was fantastically situated for dog walking straight from the door! The garden was enclosed so safe for our dog aswell. The actual property was well sized, comfortable, clean, very well appointed and felt like home from home. (lovely comfortable beds too!)

Local pub sadly was between owners so lacked the countryside atmosphere and no food available however we were recommended The Folly in Napton and that was great. Perfect country pub with good food.

We had a lovely stay and enjoyed our New Years Eve. Great break and will hope to return.

Thoroughly recommend this property.

Wonderful stay in a lovely cottage!

  • 5 of 5

Martin was great with communication and was very welcoming upon our arrival. The cottage is very well equipped and homely. Loved the wine and cake - such a thoughtful touch. There is plenty of room and having a bath in one of the bathrooms is great. The log burner is a great feature. I felt thoroughly relaxed and would highly recommend a stay here. I will be back next year for a few more days of peace and relaxation.
