TVs with Freeview channels in lounge area and double bedroom. Wood burner in lounge area (plus a supply of logs) provides a great way to keep warm on cold days. About Martin Jezzard

Heather and I live in Warwickshire with our two grown-up daughters and assorted much loved pets. We bought our present house around seven years ago and have spent much of the time since restoring the property, and latterly the dilapidated outbuildings.

Why Martin Jezzard chose Stratford-Upon-Avon area

We love Priors Marston and the surrounding area. It's quiet and rural, with lovely walks, whilst excellent shops and places to visit are within easy reach.

What makes this cottage unique

We restored the outbuildings at our property to provide the sort of accommodation we look for when we go away on holiday. A peaceful place from which to enjoy a lovely part of the country.

An old map revealed that the building had once been a Smithy - hence its name!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Many thanks for a lovely week in your cottage. Delightful. KP&D 07/13.

It was everything we could have wished for. The property could not be faulted. It is comfortably furnished, has all modern facilities and has a nice private seated patio area and a BBQ and for those rainy evenings there is a modern 42" flat screen TV and a large selection of DVD's, books and games. The village pub is a very short stroll away and the food is good, as are the cask ales.

we have already recommended to family and friends. SL&C 07/13

It was a lovely cottage and from the moment we walked in the door we knew we were going to be happy and comfortable there. There is a nice area with the property for sitting outside which is completely private which will be lovely in the summer. We would recommend. D & R 05/13

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Facilities 1st rate and an excellent base for visiting the surrounding countryside. We will definitely be back. B&J, Scotland. 04/13

Fantastic cottage for a great long weekend retreat

  • 5 of 5

Really great cottage, comfortable, stylist, spacious (and great CD collection for any muso's oug there!) There we four of us and a dog, and we had plenty of space. Great base for exploring the countryside, with a few decent pub walks - would recomend The Folly on the canal at Napton on the Hill.

Fantastic Cottage

  • 5 of 5

This is a fabulous cottage in a peaceful village. We arrived to an amazing home made lemon drizzle cake and the best stocked an equipped cottage we have ever rented. The bonus of the log burner just adds to the ambience and although the cottage is lovely and warm, the log burner makes things even better. The furniture was extremely comfortable and I have never see so many CD's and DVD's that we could make use of. Martin the owner was also very friendly and helpful. I would love to re visit in summer to make use of the lovely back garden.

Charming Cottage

  • 5 of 5

What a charming, warm and cozy cottage. Beamed ceilings, a wood burning fireplace and much more.

The local pub was almost beside it if you chose not to cook in the fully equipped kitchen.

A home away from home.

Wonderful place, so comfortable in the middle of a Beautiful village next to an excellent pub.

Just wish we had more time to spend here! The Owners are wonderful, helpful and very respectful of your privacy. Yet would have enjoyed more time with them! The special touches really are nice. Flowers, baked treats, condiments..etc. and everything smells and is, clean and fresh. Will be back.

Well situated and very comfortable

  • 5 of 5

Very warm welcome on arrival from Martin, who kindly showed us around property and explained about wood burner, heating etc. We were very comfortable and very much enjoyed the well stock shelves with CDs, Books and DVDs. The rooms were a good size and the beds very cosy. The en-suite was a little small for my Dad to use as he is a big guy with mobility difficulties so tended to use main bathroom which was adequate. The Holly Bush public house is around the corner and the garden backs on to this. The only noise we experienced was on the first saturday night and this was due to a wedding - otherwise you wouldn't have known it was there. They do a great Sunday lunch. The property is ideally situated to visit the Cotswolds, Warwick, Rugby, and Leamington Spa - all definitely worth a visit. We visited the British Motor Museum (9 miles) and this was so very interesting and very accessible for people with wheelchairs or mobility scooters. The National Herb Centre - great cafe with lovely cakes, easily accessible - they even had a wheelchair that we were able to use. Other places visited for food was the Skylark at Staverton (Farm shop with tea rooms 4 miles away) and Hilltop Farm Shop and Cafe on the Fosse way - about a 20 minute drive away - fabulous food and great service. There is some fantastic countryside all around this place and some great walks. Definitely recommend this property.

The owners have thought of everything

  • 5 of 5

This is one of the best cottages we have stayed in. The attention to detail is amazing. Then owner greets you on arrival with wine and cake. There are fresh flowers in the lounge and dining area. Coffee pods for the coffee machine. Washing liquid for the washing machine dishwasher tablets and milk in the fridge. There are even dog beds for your fury friend. The garden is dog proof and there is a lovely sofa outside. A very small down side is the pub car park at the back of the garden this can on occasions be a little noisy. But it certainly didn't disrupt our stay. The beds are very comfortable and the shower in the en suite is the most powerful shower I have used in a long time The cottage is well placed for visiting the local area and the lovely villages of the Cotswolds are close by. Leamington Spa is about 20 minutes away and has a large shopping centre with a mix of high street and independent shops - Try Aubrey and Allen the butchers - lovely welcome and dog friendly. Looking forward to returning to the cottage in the near future.
