A ground floor flat in a detached building. It has 2 bedrooms, bathroom and a living room with kitchen at one end. There is a private patio area with picnic table for outdoor dining and private parking space for one car. The property enjoys an elevated position with south and west facing aspects and open views over Mawgan Porth Bay. The beach is a 5 minute walk down a quiet track and footpath. A 10 minute walk will take you to the shops and restaurants on the seafront.

About the Owner

Green Ocean is a family owned apartment, purchased in early 2012 by Stuart, Annette and Fergus Brown. Annette and Stuart live and work in the Midlands but have strong family ties with Cornwall.

Fergus now lives and works in Truro and we have all spent annual holidays with family on Bodmin Moor for over twenty years.

Work and retirement permitting, Annette and Stuart plan to spend much more time settled in Cornwall in the future.

Our daughter and family live and work nearby.

Fantastic location - a real gem!

Green Ocean

Very comfortable flat with beautiful sea views, fantastic location

Property was clean and well maintained. We were welcomed with a Cornish cream tea which was a nice touch. Plenty to do and see in the area, would recommend it to couples and small families, but not suitable for people with walking disabilities.

Green Ocean apartment ticks all the boxes for us. The spectacular sea views. The south and west aspect making the apartment and patio a sun trap and eating outside a joy. The quiet location with the swell of the sea as the only background sound for most of the time. Beautiful, dog friendly beach and coastal path a 5 minute walk away. No need to use the car as there are excellent local amenities and very good cafés and restaurants within walking distance, not forgetting the Merrymoor Inn.

The bay at Mawgan Porth has a beautiful expanse of level sand and is ideal for all family beach activities. It is patrolled by lifeguards every day during the summer to ensure safety. Like many beaches in the Newquay area it is very popular with surfers and has been listed among the top 20 beaches in the world by The Times in 2007. It is dog friendly all year round.

A five minute stroll down a quiet track and footpath will take you from the apartment to the beach or onto the coastal path.


The nearest airport is Newquay which is 10mins by car.

Use of a car is recommended but not essential as the village has a small but well stocked supermarket and Mawgan Porth lies on the bus route from Newquay to Padstow with a good service particularly during the Summer months.


Mawgan Porth village centre is a 10 minute walk from Green Ocean apartment with a well stocked village store, which also sells hot food.

Newquay is 6 miles along the coast road and Padstow is approx a 20 minute drive along the coast in the opposite direction.

Watergate Bay lies between Mawgan Porth and Newquay.

The Eden Project is less than an hour away by car.

St Ives is an hours drive.

Further Details:

In addition to the Village store, there is a newsagent, surf shop, Fish and Chip shop, an excellent seaside pub, the Merrymoor Inn, and a restaurant.

The Bedruthan Steps Hotel is a 5 minute walk from the apartment and caters for adults and children with an excellent restaurant and a café for families.

The Scarlet Hotel is a 5minute walk from Green Ocean and offers fine dining with glorious views from the dining room.

The Park at Mawgan Porth is a 10 - 15 minute walk away and the café / restaurant is highly recommended. Child friendly and open for breakfast through to evening meals. The indoor swimming pool is open to non-residents.

At Watergate Bay is Jamie Oliver's 'Fifteen' sharing the spectacular views over the bay with the 'Beach Hut'. This is a café/ burger bar set beneath 'Fifteen'. The atmosphere here is relaxed, children dogs are made most welcome.

The nearest banks and large supermarkets are in Newquay approx. a 6 mile drive away.

From the Owner

We have all felt tremendous benefit from visits to Green Ocean. The short drive from the A30 takes you down into the village with a breath taking view of the bay ahead. This is where I start to relax and once at the apartment sitting inside or out with a hot drink life begins to slow down; simply being still and enjoying the sea air and the view. The younger members of the family enjoy being able to walk to the beach in wet suits for surfing, swimming and body boarding. Stuart enjoys excellent scuba diving locally and the coast path walks. I walk the cliffs and beach with Milly the dog. If the rain comes and the sun is no where to be seen then sitting inside with a pot of tea and a good book is a great place to be.

  • This 1930's building stands in its own grounds and has a communal garden. The apartment has a secluded private patio area directly outside the entrance door, with picnic bench where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch and sundowners while taking in the spectacular sea view. Due to its aspect the patio is a delightful sun-trap for most of the year. Towels and linen are not provided. Please bring your own duvet covers, pillow cases, sheets, towels, beach towels and tea towels. The apartment is equipped with two pillows per person plus a choice of medium or light weight duvet for each bed. A small enclosed entrance porch is handy for boots, coats, wetsuits, etc. Rotary clothes line, a deck chair and a sun lounger are stored here. The parasol for the picnic table is kept in the wardrobe in the twin bedded room.
