An ideal base for exploring Menorca on foot, by bus, by car or simply enjoying what the locality has to offer. You can watch the boats from the balcony or walk around the harbour and the town. It is on the edge of a bustling little historic town of Es Castell and well situated for trips into the capital Mahon or to the beaches around the island. The apartment has two floors and is within a secure complex with 2 swimming pools (one with a paddling area for small children), a garden area and private underground parking.

About Glynis Baxter

We first came to Menorca in 1995 and fell in love with the island. We returned each year with our children, parents and friends before deciding to buy in the Binibeca fishing village. After 5 years we decided to move to a Spanish town, Es Castell, where we could visit at any time of the year. My husband loves diving, scuba diving and kayaking - he owns two kayaks now. Grandchildren visit with us and love this spot. If you love history there is so much around here within driving distance. We have walking books in the apartment so that you can explore the island by car or foot. There is a parking space in the underground apartment but there is plenty to do and see if you don't want to hire a car. This place feels so safe whatever your age and the restaurants in Calas Fons are excellent

Why Glynis Baxter chose Es Castell

We started off in Binibeca but it's dead outside the season. Es Castell was a step up for us because the apartment is so spacious and right by the sea which is so important for us. It's a lovely Spanish town and lively throughout the year so that even if you visit in winter there will still be restaurants and bars open. It's also only 10 minutes from the airport. We have 2 supermarkets, a post office, hairdressers, pharmacy and numerous bread shops. There are several banks and an internet shop. The buses to Mahon run all year round so you don't need a car. The balcony gives you a view over the entrance to Mahon harbour so you can see all the boats coming in and out. However hot the temperature the apartment stays cool because of the breeze off the sea - best move we ever made! July fiesta!

What makes this apartment unique

No need to have a car, lovely walks from the apartment but also bus service to Mahon only taking 10 minutes. Two lovely pools to enjoy with kiddies pool. Just walk round the corner to discover Cala Fons with all its restaurants and bars. Everything you require within walking distance. There's even a tiny beach at Cala Pedera, and I mean tiny - don't expect sand but it's easy access to the water if you fancy sea rather than swimming pool. As far as beaches go the best to go to from here is Binibeca beach - very family friendly with an excellent beach bar. The apartment is in a secure complex so it's very safe. We have brought children and grandchildren here from a very young age and never had any problems.

Notes on accommodation: No pets and no smoking inside the apartment please. Please note that this is an upper level apartment and may be unsuitable for small children due to the stairs and the balcony areas. Outside: The complex has 2 shared pools with a baby pool and an outside shower. There is a large garden area with a play house. Around the pools is a tiled area for sunbeds , there is always some shade available. Four sunbeds are provided. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen and towels provided but no swimming towels. Property is cleaned for your arrival. An interim linen change is available for 2 week stays at no extra cost

First Class Apartment in Fantastic Location

On holiday last year we visited Es Castell and Cala Fonts for the day and knew that we wanted to stay there. After trawling through dozens of properties we were drawn to this one by the beautiful photographs and clear description of the apartment, facilities and location. We were not disappointed. Our initial enquiry and subsequent questions were answered quickly and the booking and payment process was easy. The apartment was beautifully clean, tastefully furnished and well equipped for every need. The complex was secure and quiet, and the location just minutes from Cala Fonts and all the wonderful shops, bars and restaurants could not have been more perfect. The children enjoyed the two pools where there is plenty of sun and shade throughout the day. We regularly used the local bus service into Mahon, and the water taxi across to La Mola.

Great Apartment in a wonderful location

Having stayed in Es Castell on 4 previous occasions this was by far the best. After seeing the photos and reading the reviews the apartment lived up to every expectation and more. We knew the area was good but we had in the past struggled to find accomodation that lived upto the area.

The surroundings, closeness to the sea and Cala Fons could not be better. The apartment had all mod cons, lovely and clean and the sun in the morning to sit and have a lazy breakfast, what could be better.

A final word for Glynis who could not be more helpful, a definate for next year

Great Apartment and location

We have been coming to this part of the Island for over 12 years and think it is fabulous location for many reasons. This was our first stay in this apartment and complex and it certainly wont I hope be our last. The apartment is in an excellent location, very safe, clean and very well equipped and maintained. For us the apartment ticked every box and is absolutely somewhere we would recommend to our family and friends.....Thank You very much a lovely apartment.

A beautiful apartment in Es Castell

This is the second time we have stayed in this apartment and we have already booked again for next year. The apartment is clean, well equipped and comfortable. Glynis is a very personable owner, willing to accommodate you with things like high chairs and travel cots. There is a lovely view from the balcony, from which you can see part of the cove of Cala Font, with its lovely restaurants and bars. This cove is no more than a couple of minutes gentle saunter from the apartment. There are two pools in the complex, one of which is very child friendly. All in all a great place to stay.

Lovely property in a great location!

We had a great holiday staying in this modern and very clean apartment. Very central to Calles Fonts with its buzzing rstauant and wonderful views over the water towards Fort Mola. We travelled as a couple although this apartment would easily suit a family of 4. We hired a car to get around the island but if you prefer to stay local the onsite pool and local restaurants will suit many of you. There is even a great walk to Mahon over the cliffs if you know how to find the path! Overall highly recommended

Excellent Family Holiday

We had a fabulous two week stay at the end of July 2015. The weather was fantastic, the apartment was well equipped and had great views from the balcony and over looking the pool. We were lucky enough to be there for the fiesta celebrations and the town came alive with locals and tourists, we would definately recommend this apartment and the resort as we had such a wonderful time.Thank you.
