About the Owner

We retired from Birmingham down to Dorset after holidaying down here for many years. We so loved the wonderful walks and sailing that we promised ourselves we would one day move down to enjoy it permanently. King's Orchard is said to be on the site of medieval King John's orchard. The house was built 10 years ago and the East wing was recently converted into a private one bedroom apartment. We have two grown up daughters and 4 grand children, who all enjoy visits to the Dorset countryside. We still love walking and are happy to recommend some of the best routes in the area

The Stables

  • 5 of 5

The Stables offers stunning accommodation finished to an exceptionally high standard.

We had an extremely comfortable week there and Michael and Claire could not have done enough for us.

We would not hesitate to return and would not change a thing.

Stunning cottage in peaceful location

  • 5 of 5

Our return visit to the Stables did not disappoint in any way. This is probably the best holiday cottage we have stayed in over the years and is a credit to the owners, Michael and Clair. It is finished and presented to the highest standard making our stay highly enjoyable. Creech Bottom is an idyllic location with peace and quiet at all times. It gives easy access to numerous tourist locations and activities whatever your taste and is a wonderful place to return to after a hard day finding Cream Teas and other holiday treats. We will most certainly be going back to the Stables and we look forward to meeting up with Michael and Clair agin soon. John and Anne.

A perfect gem

  • 5 of 5

This property is slightly off the beaten track and is an absolute gem. It is tastefully decorated throughout, furnished to a very high standard, extremely well equipped and is spacious and so comfortable. On top of this the owners were welcoming, helpful and generous. You couldn't ask for a better self catering property. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Stables to anyone and we shall definitely return.

Our stay at the Stables

  • 5 of 5

Kings Orchard is set in beautiful and peaceful surroundings and our stay at the Stables could not have been better. A great deal of care has been put into the layout and furnishing of the Stables and on our arrival it was spotless, we even had eggs and milk in the fridge.

Michael and clare were so welcoming and only too willing to impart their knowledge of this amazing part of Dorset.

Wareham is only a short drive away with a good selection of places to have a coffee and we did enjoy our visit to the Rex Cinema that reminded us of how the "pictures "were before multiscreens and popcorn.

We are looking forward too our return to explore more of this area

Heathland Heaven

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful converted cosy comfortable stable. Everything top quality and everything you need for a holiday. Michael and Claire Green are wonderfully hospitable, welcoming and helpful. The cottage is situated in a position that feels really rural but is in fact not too far out of Wareham. Would recommend to anyone needing a bit of peace and quiet with lots of walking right on their doorstep and plenty of places to visit. We travelled by train and got around perfectly without a car.

Our 3rd Visit but definitely not our last

  • 5 of 5

I am usually not a fan of returning to the same place, however this is our 3rd visit to Kings Orchard and it certainly won't be our last. The location, beautiful and well thought out accommodation combined with the lovely hosts make this the perfect getaway. Clair and Michael are always so welcoming and add those special touches to every visit. We are already planning our next stay!
