Wonderful Stay in Limoux

We enjoyed a fabulous week in Limoux. The cottage is furnished to a very high standard. It is very close to the centre of the town but in a quiet area just off the main square. The owners Tony and Deborah are very friendly and helpful and will do everything they can to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. The free wifi and English TV channels were an additional bonus.

I would recommend this villa to anyone who is looking for a beautiful place from which to explore this amazing area.

Limoux is one of the best kept secrets in France, the perfect location for exploring the scenery, an hour from the Mediterranean coast and the Pyrenees, with excellent ski resorts, whilst the town has everything, vibrant cafes and bars, excellent resturants, all within walking distance!

Activity and Interests

Special interest holidays:

The area offers wonderful opportunities for cycling tours, wine tasting, white water rafting and hiking.

There is an abundance of historical sites, including the famous Cathar trail, and the wonderful Cite of Carcassonne.


The beautiful beaches of the Mediterranean can be reached within an hour by car, including Gruissan and Narbonne plague, which offer many water sports. also, the lakes of the Languedoc should not be missed, with excellent, safe, beaches, many amenities, the nearest being Carcassonne (only 20 minutes away) and Puivert, plus many more to discover.


Nearest airport is Carcassonne, 20 minutes drive, plus excellent navette and train links straight into Limoux.

By car, the auto routes offer excellent access, exiting at Carcassonne, and new dual carriage way routes into the town.

A car is not necessarily required for your stay in Limoux, there is plenty to see on foot, as well as the excellent train services, offering access to and from Carcassonne, for just one euro!

Car hire is recommended, for the full Languedoc experience!


Many beautiful villages surround Limoux, Toulouse and Narbonne are an hour away by car.

Further Details:

Limoux has most most major bank branches, a large post office, many artisan shops as well as large supermarkets on its outskirts.

A large indoor/ outdoor pool, kayaking and rafting, tennis courts, a very successful rugby league team.

Many lively bars and cafes, and excellent restaurants, which are as popular in the winter with the "carnival" as they are in summer with the night craft markets and music and dance festivals.

Famous annual events include, Toques et Cloches, Carnaval de Monde and recently the Tour de France

As well as exclusive outside space, there is a generous space for combined seating and dining. Accessed from the street, by secure digital gated entry, offers a small oasis in the centre of town. The accommodation is fully inclusive, no hidden extras Outside: Outside, both apartments have individual outside spaces, plus a generous shared garden, the courtyard is discreetly shared by another private property, the garden of which is immaculately presented, and a pleasure to look upon. the residents of which are elderly.
