About Elaine Robson

Hello,

I fell in love with this area ten years ago and hope to retire here one day. There is something very tranquil and spiritual about this area which works its magic on you and I put my heart and soul into creating a beautiful "home from home" so you can relax and enjoy this stunning coastal area too.

Elaine Robson purchased this house in 2011

Why Elaine Robson chose Northumberland Coast

It is beautifully furnished and wonderfully located.

Mayflower Cottage is located just three minutes walk from miles of beautiful sandy beaches and is a ten minute stroll from Seahouses. From here, you can take a boat trip to the Farne Islands, which will prove a big draw with all the family.

There is no need to use the car if you wish to remain close to the beach - just stroll out the house and load the children into buggies and away you go!

The area is famous for its many stunning castles, superb beaches, surfing at nearby Beadnell Bay, historic villages and the historic and fascinating Holy Island.

What makes this house unique

Visitors at Mayflower Cottage benefit from membership to a local private gym and beauty club in Seahouses, where for a small fee you can use the gym or swim or sauna; there is always something for the family to do whatever the time of year or weather.

Guestbook comments from the owner

‘Mayflower Cottage is a beautiful place to stay, and the Northumberland coast is exquisite – what a combination we have found. The property is everything it says it will be (which is delightfully unusual these days!): spacious, stylish, contemporary, with all mod cons… and plenty of gorgeous space for all of its guest to relax. It is 3 minutes from the long, idyllic and unspoilt beach and well situated for a stroll into the Seahouses village. My group of friends have searched for the perfect place to meet up in England – at last we think we’ve found it. We have already booked again……’

"Fantastic house, fantastic location."

“The house is spotless and its location so close to the sea is just heaven for young families.”

"Lovely time in a lovely house! Being able to walk to the beach everyday was wonderful."

"The children loved having a separate living room all to themselves and the bunk bed rooms are very sweet."

"Absolutely pristine house - the quality

Amazing family home by the sea!

  • 5 of 5

Wow - what a fabulous property! We'd seen the pictures and knew a little about the area before our group made up of young families came to stay, but it didn't prepare us for how wonderful the house would be, and what a fabulous location for visitors with children. The house is huge, was spotless, well-maintained, nicely decorated, beds were gorgeously comfy, and every extra touch or piece of equipment you could think of was included, such as stair gates, DVDs, toys, books and plastic cutlery and crockery for the children, and an excellently equipped kitchen, blankets to huddle under the stars on the patio, magazines, books and a welcome hamper for adults. Everything has been thought of, and no expense spared, in making this a true luxury home-from-home. As for the area - there's a small park outside the door, and it's less than a 5 minute walk to the sand dunes and a glorious expanse of sandy beaches - the children were in their element. Within an easy drive are many castles, parks and day trips. We were lucky with the weather but there looks to be a lovely pool, soft play and plenty of cafes and restaurants to visit on the doorstep for rainy days. We can't wait to come back, we have many happy memories from our stay here which will stay with us long into the future. Thank you!

Excellent venue for family break, near beach and easy walk into Seahouses.

  • 5 of 5

Spacious, comfortable, good quality furniture and bed linen as advertised. Easy to clean, we liked the back patio for drying wet suits etc., ideal for 11 people including 5 children. Stacks of crockery, cutlery and kitchen stuff but unfortunately dish washer not functioning correctly so spent a lot of time washing up for 11 people, not good! Also, I think you need a new teapot! Doesn't pour properly, rim damaged and difficult to remove teabags. Otherwise a great place for holiday by sea, and yes, 3 minutes from beach!

I am sorry to hear that the dishwasher wasn't working properly during your stay. We weren't aware there was a problem and as were unable to repair it we have installed a new one. Thank you for your comments re teapot, we will also replace that. Overall I am pleased you really enjoyed your holiday and we would love to welcome you back in the future. Regards. Elaine

Perfect Family Holiday Home

  • 5 of 5

Perfect setting for my husband's weekend surprise 75th birthday celebration. Three generations aged 20 months to 75 years were totally catered for. Loads of space (separate lounge) if anyone wanted a quiet half hour! Range and quality of books and games for grandsons ages 5 - 9yrs was amazing. Everything our 20 month old granddaughter needed was provided - travel cot, safety gates, high chair, toys and more...... Lots of extra 'quality' touches to make the house feel like home. Plenty of room to sit round large table - or separate dining table for children if needed. Would love to come again. Thanks again from the Gang.

Excellent! Warm, large, comfortable, close to town

  • 5 of 5

The stay in Mayflower Cottage was wonderful! It was easy to find and had ample parking. We had a large group for a Scuba Diving expedition in the Farnes. I would highly recommend this place for diving groups. The house was incredibly clean and the owner had wonderful communication. No problems at all! The nearby beach and town (pubs/restaurants) are only a short walk away. Looking forward to a future visit.

A perfect retreat!

  • 5 of 5

Wow what a location and what a house!

We booked quite last minute and Elaine (and Alison) couldn't have been more helpful accommodating us and answering all our questions.

We were quite a large party consisting of three siblings with partners, two 3 year old boys, two babies and grandparents and the house couldn't have been any more perfect for us! I fell in love with the place as soon as I opened the door - the house was immaculate, beautifully furnished and the layout and overall feel to the house was perfect. My 8 month old in particular loved all the space of the open plan layout running around in her walker all day!

We really appreciated all the extras the house had to offer from baby/toddler toys to stairgates, travel cots, baby carriers and so much more - it made traveling with the children so much easier. We even managed to arrange a Sainsbury online delivery to meet us when we arrived!

In terms of location the house is perfectly placed overlooking a playpark, a short 2 minute walk to the beach and a 10 minute walk to the village centre. There is tonnes to do nearby and having access to the local ocean club was fantastic although considering the time of year we were extremely lucky with the weather with no rain in sight.

A perfect holiday - thank you so so much for allowing us to stay in your beautiful house

Owner's Response: Hi Hayley Thank you so much for your fantastic review. I am so very happy that we were able to make you holiday such an enjoyable, and stress free time. Alison the owner has really tried to think of everything that people may require and as you say her interior design is such that Mayflower has the WOW factor. The huge plan space is great for large gatherings however grandparents and teenagers like the idea of their own separate lounge. I hope we see you/your family again. Regards Elaine Booking manager
