Converted Barn in Saint Clar, Gers, Midi-Pyrenees, France - Tranquil Rural Location With Stunning Views

This delightful barn conversion offers spacious accommodation for up to 6 guests in three bedrooms. Only an hour from Toulouse airport yet deep in the unspoiled Gersoise countryside, close to the small market town of St Clar, can be found private tranquillity with wonderful views for a family or group of friends. The property is ideal for both summer and winter living with a newly built pool, covered outdoor dining areas, summer kitchen, log burning stoves and a well equipped kitchen. The large high vaulted main section of the barn is used as a dining and area at one end and as a cosy lounge area at the other with a large focal log burning stove. There is a separate sitting room with television, another log burning stove and a computer access point with wi-fi. There is a twin bedroom and two double bedrooms, two bathrooms and a utility room. Outside are found two covered dining areas, each bathed in sunshine at different times of the day during the summer months.

About the Owner

Two sisters bought adjacent properties in 2007, primarily for personal use. As the houses are uninhabited for periods of the year, it was decided to make them available for rental. For larger groups, our three bedroom barn conversion can be rented alongside my sister's neighbouring property which sleeps a further 10 people (please contact the owner if this is of interest). We have an excellent agent in France who greets our guests and manages the changeover. She is able to deal quickly with any problems should they arise during your stay. We see these properties as homes rather than a business and we welcome any family or group who are able to appreciate and respect the high standard of accommodation we are able to provide in this beautiful, unspoiled part of France.

Wonderful French Countryside House for families

The outdoor area of this lovely French house is what sold us on renting this property. We spent most of our week lazing by the pool and going to the local supermarket and markets for our food to bring back and relax in the house. The surrounding area is beautiful and tranquil. Brilliant for families

  • Notes on accommodation: The accommodation is spacious and suitable for a family or group of friends. There is ample space to get together, but at the same time there are plenty of areas both inside and out for those seeking peace and quiet to read their favourite book, listen to music or use their computer. The house is centrally heated and has log burning stoves which make it cosy throughout the year. Outside: The exterior of the property excels in the summer. Facing to the east lies the high pitched roof covered breakfast area which has a large monastery type dining table and benches. Facing to the west lies the large hangar area with a well equipped summer kitchen with fireplace, barbecue, sink, hob and fridge. A large dining table and chairs provides a perfect vantage point to watch the setting sun and to the side is a soft cushioned seating area and coffee table. Adjacent to the summer kitchen is a private pool, 10x5m, with an electronically controlled cover. Utility Room: Sink, washing machine, tumble dryer (access by separate negotiation), beer and wine fridge, iron and ironing board. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Cotton bedlinen and towels are included in rental price and changed weekly. Property cleaned weekly before and after departure.
