This is a quiet and comfortable flat in a most prestigious location on the south side of the King's Road, very close to the Chelsea Royal Hospital. It is light and airy with high ceilings in one of the most pleasant and prestigious parts of Chelsea. It is close to the stores and shops of the King's Road. and has recently been completely renovated. Public Transport and a grocery is a 2 minute walk (Royal Hospital Road) and much more in the Kings Road slightly further away. The Underground Subway at Sloane Square (a 10 Minute walk) takes you quickly to all parts of London e.g Piccadilly, Victoria, Westminster and the City of London.

The apartment enjoys comfort in a homely quiet atmosphere, and has plenty of space and storage cupboards. It is light, simply but tastefully decorated, with prints and some pictures of the owner's family. The property is close to green spaces: Chelsea Physic Garden, Royal Hospital Gardens, Burton Court & Battersea Park (ideal for jogging) are handy.

Oscar Wilde lived nearby, close to the Surprise pub (good wine and food) & there are good restaurants nearby as well. The late Princess Diana was a waitress in one before she married the Prince of Wales. Visitors have remarked on the convenience of the location, and the friendliness of the porter and residents alike. This is a no smoking property. If your English is not good, the owner speaks Spanish, French, Portuguese, German & Italian.

The kitchen dining room is light and comfortable, and the sofa bed in the study / living room converts to 2 single beds. The master bedroom is large and comfortable, with a large large cupboard for clothes.

This is a delightful and easily managed property for short or longer lets.

My French wife is a former banker, but became a magazine editor, & now writes articles on Art & Architecture. She enjoys movies. My mother in law is an interior designer, & has won commissions in France and Mexico. She is a kindly French aristocrat, and has inspired much of the charm of our homes

Why Mungo Lockhart chose Kensington and Chelsea

I bought this property after living elsewhere in the building since 1968. It is a delightful bit of old Chelsea: with friendly neighbours and shops, as well as historic period buildings, & plenty of green spaces in the area: the Royal Hospital Gardens, Burton Court, the Physic Garden and Battersea Park are but a few. The flat is quiet, facing away from the street, but enjoys the amenities of the King's Road nearby.

I once commuted by subway to the City of London in 35 minutes door to door. I now quickly reach most of the London by bus, or quickest of all, by bicycle! I am a regular visitor to the West End, and chose whatever nearby transport suits best - depending on the weather !

I can stay in these notable surroundings, but enjoy the amenities of a fine, light and modern apartment

What makes this apartment unique

This is a very easy flat to live in, with modern fittings and a friendly light atmosphere. It is in one of the most pleasant bits of Chelsea in a prestigious (and valuable) area. It is steeped in the bohemian atmosphere of London in the 19th century, and the architecture reflects this. The poet Shelley lived in a house on the site, and the American artist Sargent lived opposite, nearly 100 years later.

500 years ago, the Lord Chancellor, Sir Thomas Moore, had a property here. His chapel is now Chelsea Old Church, heading west from the flat along the Embankment. This is well worth a visit; it's a late gothic gem. Henry James worshipped here in the early 1900s.

While the locality enjoys a traditional atmosphere, the apartment has modern amenities and appliances, and plenty of storage. It is easily managed, and the study easily converts to a 2nd room for 2 children.

A great and convenient place to be if you are visiting London.

Lovely flat close to Kings road yet far from noise

We enjoyed our stay here very much, so close to all the places we wanted to go in town (we were so busy making the most of our time) and yet so peacefully quiet to return to at the end of a long day. The Little Tesco at the end of the street was so useful and the walk along the embankment to Tate Britain short enough to enjoy. We were met with a lovely smile as we arrived, and everything was prepared for us. Thank you

Family holiday to be remembered

Perfect residence for our family of 4 including a 20 year student and a 13 year schoolboy. The accomodation was just as good as described in the listing. The location was very handy with many places to visit just in a walkig distance (physical garden, war museum, Kings road shops), buses nearby and short distance to subway. We got very good service from the caretaker family. The residence was in good condition and we made a good use of the kitchen facilities. We took a 7 days ticket for the buses and subway and strolled around London's sights and museums. I have already recommended this place to relarives.

Changeover Day:
Changeover days are variable. Arrival is usually between 5,00 and 9,00 pm and departure
