Apartments in Praia da Luz, Algarve, Portugal - Situated On Quiet Urbanisation And About 20 Minutes Walk To The Beach In Luz

This apartment has two patios with superb views. One south facing over the sea, the other, faces west over the swimming pool with the hills beyond. A seperate kitchen is well equipped with fridge /freezer, microwave, oven and four plate hob. Cable TV is provided with a good selection of international channels. WiFi available.

For winter breaks, a log burner is provided, and for hot weather there is air-conditioning.

About Linda & Chris Bolton

We are a retired couple who moved to Portugal two years ago. Linda was in the teaching profession and Chris was an Airline Pilot.

Before moving to Portugal, we ran a gite in France, so we have experience of the holiday business.

We chose Praia da Luz after looking around the Algarve for more than a year.

The Eastern Algarve seemed over-developed with a bit of a feel of the Spanish "Costas". Here in the west, planning has been properly thought out and controlled, and for us has a much more comfortable feel.

What makes this apartment unique

About 50 minutes from Faro Airport using the excellent A22 motorway, the location has the best of both worlds in being away from the hurly-burly of the east, and having easy access to shopping centres such as Portimao and Guia.

The original charm of Lagos, Praia da Luz and Sagres have been retained, whilst providing a large selection of bars and restaurants to appeal to all tastes.

The west coast has world class surf and is easily reached from our property.

Only five minutes inland from here, you are in the peace and tranquillity of the raw countryside.

Coast/Beach:

Our nearest beach is here in Praia da Luz and is a 20 minute walk or 5 minute drive. The whole coastline has excellent beaches. We recommend Zovial, Ingria and Martinhal as having good restaurants and very clean sands. Each is about 15 minutes drive away.

The west coast is about 15 miles away and is very good for surfing.

Travel:

The nearest airport is Faro about 55 minutes drive to the east of us on the excellent A22 motorway.

A car is desirable, but by no means essential, as there is a huge choice of bars and restaurants locally. It is worth pointing out that taxis are cheap here. As an example, Lagos is about €12 each way.

Further Details:

Praia da Luz has two supermarkets, a pharmacy, two medical practices, a dental practice and numerous small shops.

In addition, there are over 30 restaurants and bars including two Indian and two Chinese, and one Mexican restaurant.

With a beautiful sweeping beach, there are many water activities to choose from.
