About the Owner

My main interests in life are Paragliding, previously operating a full time paragliding school in the UK, now mostly I fly for pleasure and also commercial tandem paragliding. This interest started at an early age being interested in birds, I am still a keen amateur ornithologist.

Being outside most of the time requires good weather and we have it here, good walking and other out door activities, great flora and fauna, strange and unusual insects and plenty of butterfly's. Its a naturalists dream location.

Expectations exceeded

I booked Robin's villa for myself and a group of friends to celebrate my 30th birthday, and the location and hospitality offered by Robin means this will be a birthday I will never forget.

We had a great week balanced between lounging around the villa and checking out Montenegro attractions. Robin was regularly on hand to give advice, offer the odd ride into town, and set us up with activities. We also took up Robin's services to put a lamb on the spit - the meat and all the sides prepared by Robin were delicious, and great value for money.

The accommodation itself is great and really functional for a large group. There's plenty of options for group outdoor seating areas, room to relax by the pool, and space for everyone to bunker down indoors if the weather doesn't hold up also. The pool is a dream (if not a little chilly come September) and the views are simply breathtaking. The views also extended to the sleeping quarters, which were well equipped with comfortable single beds and reliable hot showers.

One observation I would make is that if you have a large group using the rooms to capacity, the additional beds in the loft of each room can be a little treacherous to access up narrow ladders - so perhaps not for a slightly older bunch.

Overall I couldn't be more happy that I picked this location for my birthday celebrations, and can't reinforce enough how much Robin's hospitality adds to the quality of this booking. He is readily available without being overbearing, is good company, knowledgeable and has a great sense of humour.

Fantastic villa with excellent service

  • 5 of 5

We were a group of 12 on a stag do. The villa is stunning and really tucked away so no need to worry about noise etc. The views are gorgeous and Montenegro itself is beautiful. Robin the owner was incredibly accommodating and helped us out with everything we needed including transfers, taxis and recommendations for places to go and see. Can't rate him highly enough. Brilliant trip.

This is an idyllic location. The views are stunning and you never get fed up of just staring at them from a variety of vantage points.

We are a family of 6, ranging from 12 to 81 and we all loved it.

The villa has 6 independently lockable, clean and basic ensuite bedrooms. The well equipped kitchen and living area are accessed separately via the large patio.

The pool is fresh and sparkling clean. It's framed by climbing roses and the scent of wild flowers, fruits and herbs is just perfect. There is a well stocked fruit, veg and herb garden - the freshly picked strawberries are to die for. The sun shines on the pool and the patios all day so it's the perfect spot for everything. Being so high up in the mountains means that there's a cooling breeze and it's a couple of degrees cooler than down at the beach.

There is a fire pit with wood provided, which the kids loved on an evening and a real bed built into the trees in the garden should you wish to sleep under the stars.

The villa comes with a resident dog - who is the sweetest, most polite and well behaved dog you've ever encountered.

At the back of the villa is an untamed wilderness, just asking to be explored (by someone with the required fitness levels).

Robin the owner was always on hand to give helpful hints, tips and advice but was never intrusive.

The villa isn't a luxury villa - but it has everything you need plus I doubt you'd get a better position anywhere.

I wouldn't hesitate to return - in fact i can't wait to return.

Thank you Robin for letting us stay in your wonderful villa, we hope to see you again. Give Pivot a huge hug from us all (especially Grandma!) :)

A fantastic week away!

  • 5 of 5

A fantastic week away is the only way to describe our holiday in Montenegro. The villa is beautifully constructed, spotlessly clean, well maintained & situated in an idyllic spot overlooking Budva. Robin the owner arranged all of our transfers as well as being a great guide for the week. His knowledge of Budva and the surrounding areas made the holiday (especially his restaurant recommendations). One of his great recommendations was a trip to a local vineyard…. this is one not to be missed! Once again thank you Robin for a great week… we will be back!

enjoying life near budva

  • 5 of 5

First thing I need to do is thank Robin for everything he has done for us.

We were a group of 12, 20 year old guys and we loved our stay at his place.

We could do whatever we wanted whenever we wanted, if you want to come and enjoy quiet life, you can, if you want to make the place shake with loud music you can too. Everything is possible and all this with a stunning view not possible to describe with words.

As we arrived everything was very clean and ready for our visit.

Robin picked us up at the airport and immediately we had a great conversation. He even suggested to stop at a grocery store to do some shopping so we wouldn't be thirsty on our first night in Montenegro! Once the fridge was filled with 'pivo' Robin told us everything we needed to know. Also he explained on how to arrange taxi's and gave us the number of the company with who he has a special price agreement. (we took a taxi everyday and never had any problems with this company)

He also gave some info on the different activities he can offer and we chose to visit the vineyard and also go hiking in the mountains to see some wonderfull nature. The vineyard was amazing our host there welcomed us with wonderfull food, lots of wine and not to forget RAKIA (i challenge you to drink more than 13 :p ). We had a wonderfull time there and i would recommend it to everyone!

As for budva itself, it is only 15min drive from the villa to the old town (price 15euro/taxi) and you can have lots of fun there. It is a wonderfull town which is busy but not to busy (in July & August it's more crowded of course). Also enjoy the many restaurants there! You can eat very cheap, most dishes are between 5-10euro.

One last suggestion, if you have a question that looks like a strange question to ask to Robin, just ask!!! He's a wonderfull man and can help you with anything! I can strongly recommend this house to groups of friends and young people but families will have everthing they can wish for to!

Hope you enjoy Montenegro as much as we did!

Stunning Setting

  • 5 of 5

Not been here before, so we were a little wary, some places look good in the thumbnails, but do not show the bad parts. 10 paraglider pilots went to the villa, Robin collected us from Dubrovnik, and drove us straight to the villa, The ground floor rooms were twins, but the upstairs twins also had another bed in a duplex arrangement. The location is stunning, with no other buildings nearby. Robin was a grerat host and advised us where to go, running us to several places of interest during the stay. Montenegro is a beautiful place, I will be going again.

From the Owner

I bought the land first and slowly over three ears built the house. I spent six months looking for suitable locations,. Herceg Novi area is a planning mess, traffic and parking problems and poor beaches, Kotor bay is magnificent but has no beaches and suffers from shadow either in the morning or evening depending on which side of the fyord you are. Budva is busy, with nightlife, restuarants and cafes and good beaches, but who wants to live there? being above it all is a perfect balance for me to enjoy both sides of life.
