Everything was perfect. Your house is gorgeous and the village is stunning. We will definitely be going back. Newlyweds, May 13

Thank you so much for the use of your house in Benahavis. It is absolutely wonderful, beautifully decorated, fantastic patio furniture and ideally situated. The bottle of wine waiting for us was much appreciated. I don't think we have ever had such a well equipped rental. In fact we enjoyed it so much we've booked again for next year. J & T,May 13

Many thanks for the stay (plus wine) much appreciated!! We will definitely return next year. What a beautiful place. J & S, June 13

Stunning village house

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful house in a lovely peaceful village setting, views from both balconies stunning.

Lovely comfortable beds, a real home from home.

A good base from which to explore the area but always looked forward to returning to the house for a glass of wine on the terrace at Casa Mirador followed by a meal out in Benahavis at the many excellent restaurants. We especially liked a tapas bar called the Eden bar which served delicious prawns.

Would definitely recommend this property and am wishing we were back there now.

Hope to return in the future,

Many thanks Jenny from Wendy & Gary Cross.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review of our holiday home that sits in the heart of the delightful Spanish village of Benahavis. Benahavis has been referred to as the dining room of the Costa del Sol. So I'm pleased to hear that you had the opportunity to indulge in its many restaurants after a pre dinner drink on our terrace. In fact Eden enjoys the same view of the green hills that encircles the village as our terraces. We look forward to welcoming you both back again in the future.

Simply stunning

  • 5 of 5

To say that this is a fabulous holiday home would be an understatement!!

Jenny made the whole process so easy from booking to arriving we received excellent guest service.

This incredibly pretty house is located just steps away from the village centre and yet it's so peaceful. It has maintained to a very good standard and the quality of the fitting & fixtures are first rate.

From the minute you arrive you'll be stunned by breathtaking views from terraces and if you're a fan of walking the scenery local is just beautiful.

Casa Mirador captured our hearts, it will yours too. Cant wait to return!!

Owner's Response: Thank you very much for both taking the time to write a review and for your high praise of our home and Benahavis. We are making further improvements this year installing double glazing and a woodburner, so the house will be cosier when the temperatures drop in the winter. I'm sure you enjoyed the new gorge walk, a beautiful circular walk following the old water course, with great viewing points. We look forward to welcoming you back, it's lovely to have repeat guests falling for Benahavis' charm just as we did

House with stunning views

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from our third stay in Casa Mirador. We have found it hard to replicate the facilities that it provides... stunning views from the villa's balconies, wonderful village with numerous restaurants and a great location for exploring nearby attractions and towns such as Estepona and Puerto Banus.

The house is extremely well equipped and has everything needed for a great holiday. We have already booked our 4th visit.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to share your experience of staying at Casa Mirador and your five star review. So many of our guests have stayed in Benahavis before, it is lovely when people keep returning to the village. A number of these are keen golfers like yourself who appreciate the great choice of golf courses within a short drive and the chance to stroll out in the evenings to reflect on the days game whilst enjoying a drink and pleasant meal. We enjoy spending time here ourselves, managing six visits this year and always try to add features that will enhance our guests comfort and enjoyment, perhaps we'll try our hand at golf one day!

Not to be missed

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic time in Benehavis, the village is beautiful and the local residents are so friendly. The choice of restaurants is amazing almost too many to choose from, we didn't have one bad experience.

The townhouse is wonderful, very tastefully decorated and everything you could want, truly a home from home, the layout is fabulous and the upper terrace gets the sun all day long (till about 6pm) and is so peaceful.

Jenny and Glen were extremely helpful throughout the booking process and during our stay sending us email updates about things going on in the village.

We had a car and did a lot of travelling and there are plenty of places to go and visit, but each evening we returned to the village to enjoy the delights on offer before retiring to the house for a great nights sleep.

We did an overnight stay in Seville which was beautiful, we travelled by train from Malaga and it was all very simple to arrange, almost a holiday within a holiday.

All in all a great two weeks, thank you both for all your help

Owner's Response: Thank you very much for taking the time to review your recent holiday to Benahavis, we're so glad to hear that you both had a super holiday. Benahavis is well placed to explore both the local area and further afield in Andalusia and I'm glad our home was able to offer you a comfortable haven to rest your head. The friendliness of the village was one of the reasons for making this our second home. There are always events happening in the village bringing together the Spanish and non Spanish residents alike. Guests who take care of our home as you did are welcome back anytime to enjoy another holiday in the sunshine.

Home from Home in Beautiful Benahavis

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful week at Casa Mirador. The house is truely home from home with the added bonus of the sunshine. The kitchen is fully equipped for those who like to cook on holiday however we took advantage of the many restaurants a stones throw away. The house is set in a quiet court yard just off a a little plaza where the friendly locals gather on the bench for an evening chat. With the shutters down and the luxury kingsize beds its a good idea to set the alarm so as not to miss the sun on the terraces!

Jenny was excellent with her prompt correspondence and happy to answer my many questions.

We certainly can reccomend Casa Mirador and Benahavis for a chill out holiday.

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for taking the time to pass on your comments to future guests and your 5 star award. Our main emphasis is giving a 'home from home' experience in this wonderful part of Andalucía. We always try to add a few touches to make the holiday that extra bit special. It's amazing what a difference a dark room makes to a good nights sleep, we wish we had the shutters in our English bedroom. Many of our guests who have enjoyed their stay come back again and we look forward to welcoming you back to our home in the sun sometime soon.

Lovely Spanish home in picturesque villag

  • 5 of 5

I have just returned from my second visit to this lovely house in the heart of the beautiful village of Benahavis. This really is a "home from home" with every detail carefully thought out from the welcome bottle of wine on arrival to the quality toiletries and linens. The electric blinds and ceiling fans keep the rooms cool on even the hottest days and nights and there is a fully kitted out kitchen and utility room as well as two good sized bedrooms and two luxury shower rooms. Although there is a short steep walk up from the car park, the stunning uninterrupted views across the mountains from both upper and lower terraces make it very worthwhile. Once there, the restaurants and eateries that this village is so renowned for are all just a short stroll away. Another lovely touch is the visitors book where the owners invite their guests to review the restaurants they have visited - very useful when there is such an abundance of choice. We took a short drive to Estepona for a day on the beach and also took the local bus into San Pedro. There are some beautiful walks around Benahavis to work off some of those calories! All in all this is a perfect location for a friends or family getaway if you're looking for peace and tranquility and some fine dining, and this house is in an enviable position in the village. The booking process and communication from the owners were excellent. Highly recommended.

Owner's Response: Thank you for sharing your kind comments about our house in Benahavis. As our second home it was important to us that it was comfortable to live in not just a place to crash whilst on holiday, so it's always nice to hear that our guests appreciate that too. Im glad that our book of guest reviews of the restaurants was useful, with so many wonderful places to dine on your doorstep a few pointers never goes a miss. We look forward to welcoming you back for your third visit next year...that bottle of wine will be waiting for you.

Location

From the Owner

We have spent many happy holidays in Spain and always dreamed of finding a place to call our own. With that in mind we visited many of the Costa's and although we always enjoyed our holidays no one particular place really caught our attention. Then by chance whist planning a forthcoming holiday I googled fine dining in Spain and came upon a village in the hills above Marbella (an area we knew) that described itself as the "dining room of the Costa del Sol", and as self confessed foodies we booked our weeks holiday in a local apartment. The village reviews sounded too good to be true, but no, Benahavis really did have it all as far as we were concerned. So we returned for a couple more visits (staying in various parts of the village) until we found Casa Mirador and now we call it home...

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

Just 7Km from the Mediterranean coast and miles of sweeping beaches, approx 10 minutes by car. Here you'll find an abundance of Chirungitos - beach cafés that are great places for a drink and tapas. For an upmarket sunbathing experience try a day at Languna Village, on the road to Estepona. Marbella and Puerto Banus, 15 minutes by car are the places to be for great shopping, the harbour, upmarket restaurants and the famous night-life!

Travel:

Malaga Airport is just 45 minutes by car, with the choice of the fast toll road (approx €5) or the scenic coastal road. Taxis are available at the airport for private transfers. If you are here just to chill and take life easy then it is possible to manage a stay in Benahavis without a car due to the amenities within the village and the reliable taxi service for any trips out. For ease and to explore other places of interest in the area I would recommend hiring a car for the whole of your stay.

Distances:

Every day essentials are available in the village but 5 minute drive away is a large UK style supermarket (Mercadona) that stocks everything you may possibly need during your stay and accepts credit cards (shopping bags are kept in the house if you’re planning to stock up!).

Further Details:

Benahavis is ideally located for all the amenities the Costa has to offer.

Visit fashionable Marbella and have lunch in beautiful Orange Square.

Call in at Selwo animal park or book a local jeep safari.

Take a guided tour around Gibraltar with its world famous Barbary apes or bag a few bargains all duty free.

If you prefer a more up beat night life and celebrity spotting venture into Puerto Banus and walk around the yacht filled harbour and trendy boutiques.

For those in search of culture take a day trip and visit the architecturally stunning cities of Granada, home of the Alhambra palace and Seville. See Jerez and visit the sherry bodegas or enjoy the charms of the old town of Ronda with the oldest bullring in Spain.
