About Ian Owen

Hi we are Heather & Ian Owen and we look forward to welcoming you to our property in the beautiful town of Conwy, North Wales.

Ian Owen purchased this house in 2010

Why Ian Owen chose Conwy Town

We bought the property because we love Conwy and North Wales. The house is on a fantastic residential road with beautiful views of the sea, mountains and Conwy Castle.

Conwy makes for a superb place to base yourselves for a North Wales holiday. On the doorstep of the house is Conwy castle, harbour and medieval walled town - a world heritage site. There are great places to eat and drink. A RSPB nature reserve and fabulous walking direct from the house onto Conwy Mountain. Conwy is very easy to get to by mainline train from London, Chester or Manchester or by car using the A55 express way.

If you want to explore North Wales more, Snowdon and Anglesey are both about 40 minutes drive away.

What makes this house unique

We love the views from the house and the space it has to offer. We've installed new electrics and plumbing in the property including a pressurised hot water system which gives fabulous showers and baths.

Guestbook comments from the owner

'This was our second trip to Aberconwy Cottage this year, we had a short break in April/May.Once again we had a super time, even though we are back to dark nights we never closed the living room curtains once, to sit at the dining table for a meal with a view to die for was fantastic. The cottage as usual was super, lovely & warm with plenty of hot water. The owners are very generous with the heating, cottage was warm at all times.' Paul G Stoke on Trent, stayed Nov 2012

'We had a lovely week staying at the cottage. The standard of the accommodation is high with great views over Conwy from most of the rooms. Easy walk into the town centre within 5 minutes. Modern kitchen with 3 large bedrooms which were ideal for my wife and I, our 3 year old daughter and my parents in law. Free wifi was very handy. We have already booked again for next year and are looking forward to our return' Chris C St Albans stayed October 2012

The house was very clean and roomy

  • 4 of 5

House was as expected. Nice and clean lots of space linen lovely and clean beds comfy.

Some of our party who were more elderly found the walk into Conwy a little challenging . Also as it is a town style house over 3 levels elderly struggled with stairs a bit. Other than that everything lovely - recycling quite challenging if you come from an area that doesn’t recycle to that extent but you get use to it by end of week. Conwy is great for walking, lots of nice eating places and bars.

Amazingly spacious property

  • 5 of 5

There were 8 in our group (4 couples) and found the property to be very large but with a real homely feel about the place. Well equipped, comfy beds and lounge seating, good bathrooms. I would highly recommend this place for large groups or families.

Although this was a primarily walking weekend for us we picked Conwy because it had much to offer in the event of bad weather which is frequent in mountainous areas. Conwy did not disappoint and the property is only a short walk to the town centre.

All in all a great weekend and Ian was very on the ball with information. Thanks and will hopefully visit again.

Excellent property

  • 5 of 5

I would thoroughly recommend this property especially for a big family get together. We were 5 couples away for a weeks relaxing break. The house was very well equipped, spacious and very clean. There is everything you want to make your stay enjoyable..

It may seem strange that the kitchen and dining room are on the first floor but it work, the kitchen is more than adequate to cook for 10 people and the large dining table equally so.

Just one drawback if you are not very mobile the walk in to Conway is down a very steep hill so driving or taxi is a must. Taxi from the town centre is only £2.80 so it wont break the bank.

Views over Conway are excellent and the sunrise greeting you through the windows each morning was magical.

Would definitely go back.

Great property for family holidays

  • 5 of 5

A great place for a family holiday, the age range was from 4 months to 84. (3 under 5's)

The best room in the house was the dinning room, plenty of room for the little ones to play and the adults to sit and chat plus the view is stunning.

The kitchen has all that you need, the washer and dryer very user friendly.

The house was easy to get round for Mum (84) but as she uses a walking frame she could not walk into Conwy (too hilly)

Good directions on how to get to the property for those who don't have a satnav

Beautiful spacious home with fantastic castle views

  • 5 of 5

The house was a great place to gather our two families and have enough room to enjoy the evenings. Waking up to views Conwy castle was one of the highlights of our trip. The house is near enough to town but out of the way enough to provide a quiet place at the end of the day. The only negative is with children there is not a good outdoor space, although the family and dining rooms were large enough to allow them room to play.

Perfect place for family re-union

  • 4 of 5

The only negative about the property is that some of the decor was rather tired. BUT it was very clean, warm and comfortable. The beds were nice and comfy, the rooms very big and the kitchen was well equipped. Hot water and heating worked well. Nice modern bathrooms. Lovely views. For us the location was ideal. Short walk into town. (Steep climb back!) Within easy driving distance of other towns Llandudno and Colwyn Bay. Plenty of things for young children on rainy days. (Recommend Bonkerz in Llandudno!) There is access to the front garden only, but it's a very quiet road with good views. The back part, along with some rooms was closed to us. We parked 3 cars in the drive-way. Could have got 4 in if needed. My deposit was returned on the first working day after leaving.

Also recommend Watson's Bistro, again within walking distance.
