La Cour has an open plan lounge dining/kitchen with woodburning stove. French windows lead onto a private terrace with shady dining and bbq area. The main bedroom also has French windows, leading to a second private garden to the rear of the property. The kitchen is fully equipped with washing machine/fridge etc. Wifi is available. English Freesat TV. The atmospheric barn, games room and solar-heated pool are shared by all cottages.
Le Bruet is a farmhouse and four cottage complex set in beautiful countryside ideal for walking, cycling or just relaxing. There is a large shared (12m x 6m) solar heated and fenced swimming pool. The games room has table tennis, tv/video, selection of books and games. The atmospheric old barn is set up for guests to gather for drinks or bbq (David and Jane usually organise a weekly bbq evening for guests). The market town of Chalais (4kms) has an abundance of restaurants, bars, shops and the Monday morning market has real French character not to be missed. Close by (4 to 15kms) there are great river/lake sandy beaches suitable for all ages. Bordeaux, St Emilion and Blaye are all easily reached for restaurants, shopping and wine tours. David and Jane have lived at Le Bruet for 13 years and know the area well. We are happy to help with suggestions for days out and restaurant bookings to suit your party.
Our changeover day is normally Saturday for La Veranda, La Chouette and La Cour and is Friday for Belle Maison this can be flexible out of main season.
Customer Cancellation Refunds.
Booking Deposit: 50% is refundable upon cancellation.
The Booking Balance (due 45 days prior to arrival) is refundable where booked dates can be resold by us, in which case 85% of balance will be refunded.
The gite was absolutely fantastic and equipped with everything you needed. It is set in a wonderful location - peaceful but close enough to Chalais to buy everything you need. The owners, Jane and David were wonderful and keep the gite complex in immaculate condition. I would definitely return here.
