5 well-deserved stars - and a bonus star for Suzie and Andrew
About the Owner
About Suzie & Andrew Grimwood
We moved to Pembrokeshire in May 2012 after living and working in the London area for almost 20 years. We decided that it was time for a change of lifestyle so we took a leap of faith, moving from the city to the countryside – and what a great move it has been! We live on site in the converted watermill with our 2 dogs.
Suzie & Andrew Grimwood purchased this apartment in 2012
Why Suzie & Andrew Grimwood chose Pembrokeshire
We fell in love with this property after seeing it on the internet. Although we viewed a number of other properties in the area which also offered holiday let opportunities, none lived up to Castle Ely Mill. We were captivated by the main house, the holiday let cottages, the grounds and the location. There is so much to do and see within a short drive of here – we are sure that you will love it as much as we do.

We were simply blown away not only by the beauty of Wales and Castle Ely Mill but also by our fantastic landlords Suzie and Andrew. They gave us a real feeling of being welcome and always went the extra mile whenever we needed help or a piece of advice. My wife and I have truly spent 2 fantastic weeks there - sadly they went too fast. We will be coming back, that's for sure.

Beautiful and peaceful week away
This is our second holiday at castle Ely staying in both Mill cottage and now rose cottage.
We have throughly enjoyed our holidays the cottages are very clean well equipped and comfortable and the grounds are beautiful and peaceful.
There is so much to do in the local area we find the cottages very well positioned and have had a another fab holiday. Thank you Suzie and Andrew look forward to staying with you again soon.
Rose Cottage ~ Just as lovely as the picture!
We arrived at Rose Cottage and it is just a lovely as it looks in the pictures. It was easy to find and is perfectly located for visiting many of the activities and places around the area, such as Folly Farm and Tenby seaside town.
All the rooms were of a good size and the layout was convenient with plenty of seating. The cottage has everything you need, fridge freezer, cooker, a well stocked kitchen of pans, dishes and cutlery, it even has a dish washer so you don't have to waste holiday time washing up. There is a communal laundry room which was clean and tidy and although there was a charge to use this it wasn't very much. Upon arrival the cottage was lovely and clean and well maintained. We were able to park right outside our front door. There is a patio area with table and chairs accessed through patio doors in the living area with a lovely view of the lake, from this point we were lucky enough to see a variety of birds including red kites, wood peckers, moor hens and a sparrow hawk.
There is a games room with a very reasonable honesty bar where you can access WiFi. There is a range of drinks available both alcoholic and non alcoholic from the bar and many games for all the family to enjoy, e.g pool, darts, board games and even books to borrow.
On arrival we were greeted by Suzie who showed us around and Andrew introduced himself a little later on. Both are really friendly and easy to chat to and always willing to give advice and directions on where to visit for days out.
On our last day there Suzie really went above and beyond when my wife got ill, Suzie arranged for us to go and see her own doctor and even drove us there (as my wife is the driver of our family) and waited in the waiting room with our son. My wife then had to go to the hospital in Carmarthen with suspected appendicitis, Suzie drove us there and then looked after our 12 year old son for a few hours while my sister in law travelled down to help. I don't know what we would've done without Suzie that day, she was a massive help and we can't thank her enough.
We can't recommend Rose Cottage highly enough, it is perfect for a family holiday with lots to see and do in the area. We hope to visit again next year and we have already recommended it to our friends and family.
Lovely location for a getaway
Great setting on the edge of Pembrokeshire.
Rose cottage had all facilities we required.
Lovely lake to freely walk around.
Owners on site and happy to help with any queries and requests.
<10 miles to Tenby, Folly Farm, Blue Lagoon, seaside, etc
Lovely log cabin bar/games room, just wish we got to make more use of it.
Only negative was the lack of Internet access, either wifi or mobile network, outside of the cabin.
Thanks for the Welsh cakes and jam on arrival!
Three branches of our family stayed in this lovely location for a week. The property was clean, well-maintained and the owers were fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They have just built a games room which was fantastic for the children.
the location is superb. Lovely buildings in a loverly setting right by the lake. very easy to find and within short driving range of lots of beaches and at least two castles.
A great location to explore this beautiful region.
Castle Ely Mill is a great place from which to explore the beautiful counties of Pembrokeshire and Camarthenshire. Fantastic beaches like Tenby and Barafundle Bay, plenty of activities for children all nearby: Blue Lagoon water park, cycling the coastal paths, Heatherton centre, Overhang climbing wall Tenby, laser combat...... The accommodation itself is in a fantastic relaxed setting with a modern kitchen and plenty of outdoor space - the lake was a bit too weedy to fish during our stay but there are plenty of other fishing locations in the area. The grounds are a haven for wild birds, there's a stream for the children to paddle in, an open grassy space for games and the great bar/pool table area was a bonus. The owners could not be more welcoming and friendly and were able to advise on restaurants and activities. Thank you - we had a great holiday!

Activity and Interests
This is an ideal location from where to explore the amazing coastline of Pembrokeshire. There is an abundance of blue flag beaches within easy access – our closest beaches are Amroth and Wisemans Bridge, both just a few minutes drive away. A little further afield are Saundersfoot and Tenby.
London is approx 230 miles away, with all but the last few miles being Motorway or dual carriageway. Cardiff airport is approximately 1½ hours away by car. The port of Pembroke is less then 30 minutes away with direct ferries to/from Ireland.
Although everything is within easy access of Castle Ely Mill, ideally you do need a car.
Local grocery supplies can be obtained at the local garage (where there is also a cash point), about half a mile away. A supermarket, Post Office, Chemist and several Take-Away restaurants are available in Kilgetty (a mere 5 miles away).
The nearest beach is approx 4 miles away.
There are so many things to see and do that there just isn't enough room here! We have an information book in each cottage which gives you details of places to go, places we can recommend to eat, and lots of information on the beaches in the area. We also leave a supply of leaflets on the local attractions for you. For more information please visit our website www.castle-ely-mill.com
