Cottage in in Rognes, Nr. Aix en Provence, Bouches du Rhone, Cote DAzur, France - Peaceful Location In The Middle Of The Countryside

Situated in the middle of the countryside, a small charming cottage (45m2) on a private property (1,3 ha) complete with swimming pool (6x12). The view is magnificent and the surrounding environment extremely quiet. Nicely decorated by "Lilas des bois". It's attached to the main house where the owners (Only two) live. The cottage is very well separated with his own entrance, private terrace And garden. The kitchen, entirely equipped opens up to a comfortable living room, and a shaded terrace with a very beautiful view of the Luberon hills. There is one bedroom with a double bed and a bathroom.The cottage is set in 13000m2, with an orchard ( cherry trees,almond trees, apricot trees and apple trees), field of olives trees, vineyards,lavender and an organic vegetable garden.

Perfection in Provence

Professionally taken photos very often enhance reality but in this case, the house and its setting are even better than the beautiful photos. The house is beautifully furnished and very comfortable, there is so much garden furniture spread around the spacious, attractive garden, it's a decision in itself as to where you're going have the next glass of rose. Our hosts were Gallic charm personified and very hospitable. The notes on the locality became our bible so that we didn't miss any gems. In the fortnight, we just about managed to visit villages, take in loads of markets, visit Aix, Avignon and Arles and have loads of fabulous R&R in the garden dipping in and out of the pool. And we nearly had to 'dognap' Myrtille....

Fabulous place - nothing more to say!!

Well OK there is some more I can say!!

The place is situated at the top of a quiet rural lane amongst similar villa style properties, however none of them overlook each other and the entire gardens and orchard areas are very secluded. The apartment is one of two (either side of the main house) and there is another small apartment within the main residence.

All of the apartments are beautifully equipped and very stylishly furnished with many decorations handmade by the lady of the house, who is a very talented artist.

No expense has been spared in making these apartments beautiful, and that coupled with the truely stunning pool and garden areas make for an idyllic spot to spend time in.

Warm weather and wall to wall sunshine also greet you on arrival and luckily enough the lavender (and sunflowers at the bottom of the road) were all fully out when we arrived.

The tranquility and relaxed ambiance of the apartment (and surrounding area) make for a lovely stay.

Whilst we only managed to meet the owners on our last day (they had house sitters in whilst they went on holiday), they were both very frindly and clearly loved the countryside and local area. You couldnt wish for more convivial hosts! Their local guide provided in the gite was excellent and gave lots of ideas for places to go, things to do and places to eat!

Overall a stunning place to stay in a stunning part of the world. So much to do in the area also guarantees a return trip I think (one week simply isn't enough.

Excellent holiday

From the moment we arrived, we were made very welcome by the owners - and Myrtille the dog! They were very helpful about the best places to visit, how to get to them and how to make the most of our holiday. The accommodation was ideal, very comfortable, clean and well equipped. The surrounding grounds and orchards were delightful. The weather was a little mixed during our week but there is so much to do and see in the area, including trips to Aix and into the Camargue, that it didn't really matter. All in all, a great week. We would certainly be happy to go back and have no hesitation in recommending the property to friends.

Perfect holiday location

We had a wonderful time in the cottage. It was so relaxing to sit on the terrace with the great view and to enjoy the nice pool and garden. Everything was absolutly clean and in perfect condition. The whole cottage is very tasteful and the kitchen very well equipped.

The hosts are very nice and help with useful tips (restaurants, shops, things to see and to do). In only 25 minutes you are in the citycenter (parking deck) of Aix-en-Provence and it is such nice little road through the vineyards.

We definitely will come back!

It was just wonderful

Perfect holiday-location. In reality it looks even better than in the Internet! Very nice hosts, who gave helpful tips for going out, walks and shopping. Everything was perfectly clean and in best condition, well equipped kitchen.

The property is very good located for trips (you need just 25 minutes to Aix by car). Very nice pool. We definitely will come back!!!

Provence at its best

Reluctant as we are to spread the word we entirely agree with other visitors to this lovely place and are ourselves soon to be there for the third time: to relax in the wonderful gardens, to swim, to eat well, enjoy the local rose wine and to cycle. The owners are the most delightful hosts.
