Apartment in Bath - Close To Stations, Thermae Spa, Roman Baths & Sainsbury

Riverside Apartment is located within the historic Regency part of this small city; it forms the lower part of a Grade II 'listed' stone townhouse built in 1818, and once formed the kitchens of Sir Joseph Huddart's household - he was a local businessman. You can see the old house deeds on the wall.

For summer visitors, there is a small garden for your exclusive use. When you come to Bath out of season, the centrally heated apartment makes a welcome base for returning to, after exploring the city.

Free visitor parking by permit is available in the street. Use of the permit is available free of charge to our guests, if requested when you book.

Parts of the original flagstone flooring, beams, shutters and stonework have been restored to a high standard and combine with modern fittings to make the apartment the ideal choice for an enjoyable holiday or short break.

The apartment has one-bedroom with a lounge/diner, fully-fitted kitchen, bathroom with bath (containing a shower), utility room with washing machine. The River Avon and all its boating activity can be seen from the lounge window. There is a Freeview television and wifi. Linen and towels are provided, with a change of linen offered if you are staying for more than a week.

A third person can be accommodated on a folding Visitor bed in the lounge, by prior arrangement, for an additional charge. Please ask us if you are travelling with a baby or young child in a carrycot.

All the major sites, the Thermae Bath Spa, Theatre Royal, Royal Crescent, Kings Circus, cinema, supermarkets and railway station are all within a short walk. Bath has a wide variety of pubs, bars and restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets. Green Park market (across the road) has the UK's original farmers' market on Saturdays, and the space under the old train station roof also plays host to a variety of other markets such as antiques, vintage clothes, crafts and artisan food at other times.

Small, well-behaved dogs can be accepted, by prior arrangement, for an additional charge.

The apartment is inspected annually and is approved by Bath Tourism Plus and Visit Britain.

I've lived in the centre of Bath for over 30 years in our old stone house on the river. Graham and I converted the old kitchens about 20 years ago to make a spacious apartment to let for holidays for a variety of visitors around the world.

Our small holiday house in a 'white' mountain village in Andalucia offers a quite different experience. We love both!

Ideal, tastefully restored, centre of city.

An absolute delight, perfect tastefully restored basement for two. Well equipped kitchen, dining area with river view and double bedroom with view over garden. Plenty of storage throughout. Access from road, down public steps a couple of yards along tow path then in through own private front door. Supermarket literally two minutes away and centre of city, Abbey, Pump rooms and shops etc..an easy ten minute walk.

Parking the car with the given permit was fine, as found we did not need to use the car; everywhere was within walking distance. Besides all the conventional places to visit we found Bizarre Bath a great evening's entertainment and the Marmaris Turkish Restaurant a good meal.

Next time we visit Bath would definitely stay here again. .

Perfect Location to Explore Bath on Foot

This small apartment is down a flight of stairs with the entrance located on the path along the river Avon. (Unfortunately, while we were there the path was being upgraded, so we didn't get to use it as much as we'd liked, but we did enjoy an enjoyable walk on part of it.) All of the attractions of Bath are just a 15-minute or so walk away, and a large grocery store is literally right next door (separated by a hedge so it's not visible from the building.) It was a quiet, comfortable refuge with a large tub and good shower. The owners were always available to help us find a place to park on the crowded street (though in truth, we only took the car out once for a drive to Avebury and Salisbury). Americans used to coffee every morning might want to know that the only coffee maker we could find was a cup-at-a-time Melitta cone (which did a good job). All in all, we loved the apartment and the city and would definitely stay here again if we are fortunate enough to visit Bath again.

Cosy,well located garden flat

We were given a warm welcome by Graham, the owner, on arrival,and he provided a parking permit enabling us to park close to the flat.The flat has a great location at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac immediately adjoining the 'riverside walk', close to Royal Victoria Park, and within a short,level walk of the city centre. We had a lovely 3 night stay and would recommend the property to anyone wanting a quiet yet convenient location, with the added bonus to dog owners of a small,private garden and the close proximity of the riverside walk and Park.

Perfect location and apartment

Graham welcomed us to Riverside Apartment and was very helpful in every resect.

The location is great, so close to everything in Bath, yet peaceful next to the river.The apartment is spotless and has everything you need. It is very homely and we loved it. The skyline walk is wonderful, so are the Mad Max tours, especially the one to Laycock and Castle Combe. Jolly's tea rooms are a must.Thank you Graham and Judith for a wonderful week.

Look no further!

We chose this apartment for its character features, peaceful location, walking distance to the centre of Bath, stress-free (and cost-free) parking as well as both child and dog-friendliness.

Arriving by car, you knock on the door of the main house and Graham the owner will gallantly nip out with a welcoming smile and a parking permit.

You enter Riverside Apartment through a gate in an old stone wall, into your own little secret garden. A tasteful wrought iron security gate lets you through to your own wonderfully wide Georgian front door. Inside you are welcomed by honey-coloured stone walls and warm-coloured soft furnishings. There’s a window looking towards the river, with a wide window-sill where our nine-year-old daughter enjoyed kneeling like a mermaid on a rock, looking for cormorants and otters.

You are immediately struck by the original stone fireplace surrounds, which used to be part of the kitchen of this gracious house and above, a framed portion of an intriguing old deed.

Between the living area and the fireplaces is plenty of room, which keeps the space relaxed and uncluttered.

The kitchen has everything you may need. A huge window towards the front lets in a flood of light.

There is complimentary Wi-Fi, an essential for a nine-year-old these days.

The bathroom has a sealed flagstone floor. The suite is tasteful and modern. The shower screen is clear glass. Towels are thick and fluffy. Everything is squeaky-clean.

The bedroom has a serene soft sage green theme. The window, frosted at the bottom, has folding shutters and is fully secured with wrought iron work if you want to open it all and let the breeze flow through. My husband and I both found the bed comfortable. The wardrobe is huge with plenty of space and hangers. Bedroom furniture is solid wood.

Should you wish to use the folding extra bed, you will find it nice and new, not like the nasty old thing granny used to get out when you came to stay.

We loved walking along the riverside path with the dog into town, or just various green spaces for walks or our daughter to play. There’s something about returning to the apartment through your own private gate that makes you feel slightly smug. We loved walking up via Royal Victoria Park and the Royal Crescent to the revamped Marlborough Tavern for a superb lunch, where the dog was allowed to join us indoors!

We really cannot recommend this apartment enough for a stress-free stay in Bath. We will definitely return.

The houses in Norfolk Buildings are quite typical of 'Regency' Bath - lovely stone town houses, but a bit smaller than some of the Georgian ones, many of which have been split up into flats. The area is right by the river and quiet, yet within easy walking access of everything you might want to do.

Bath Spa Station and Bath bus station are within 10 minutes walk. The nearest airport is Bristol International. Good express bus stop to Bristol (X39) is close to the apartment.

All the sites of importance in Bath, the Roman Baths, Thermae Spa, Royal Crescent, museums and shopping, are within easy walking distance.
