Ardaros is a large detached house sitting in its own landscaped gardens. All rooms look out over the hills or loch. The lounge has an open fireplace and amazing panoramic views, opening on to a patio for outside dining. The traditional farmhouse-style kitchen/ dining room comfortably seats 10 around the old farmhouse table. The garage stores bicycles and kayaks. The parking area takes four cars with ease. Down at the loch there is a slipway, off which lies Ardaros’ own deep water mooring, available to guests at no charge. The pretty village of Strontian offers a general store, pub and fuel within ½ mile, and a mini market and restaurants within a mile. Seals, otters, deer, pine marten, and eagles are all frequently seen. The pristine and often deserted sandy beach at Ardnastang is only two miles away. For lovers of the outdoors this is paradise: walking, cycling, kayaking, skiing, boating, climbing and fishing are all right on the doorstep.

A fantastic week!

We arrived to a clean, spacious and comfortable house. A well equipped kitchen, lovely bathrooms and bathrooms. Plenty of space for the six of us and two well behaved spaniels! The views from the lounge window are absolutely stunning. A pleasant short walk down to the beach, which the dogs loved, everyday. A very helpful lady in Tourist Information and small local shops for the few essentials you might need in the village.

We took the ferry over to Mull (Tobermory). Ferry £35 - but a pleasant day none the less...

Exploring the local area and coming across white sandy beaches was an amazing experience!

Kilcamb Lodge on our final night was a superb meal (if a little expensive). A real treat to round off our holiday! We would certainly recommend Ardaros to anybody considering a holiday in the Highlands.

Superb Holiday Home

My family and I have visited Scotland many many times before and have stayed in some beautiful houses, but I have to say that this one has topped the lot, with a beautiful house, its contents, and location, everything was perfect in fact A1. Most certainly will be back.

Coast/Beach:

Ardnastang is a lovely sandy beach 2 miles west along the road. Around the Ardnamurchan coast Sanna Bay and Singing Sands are of course two of the best beaches in the country (45 mins drive).

Travel:

Two and a half hours from Glasgow airport.

Distances:

Strontian village is under 1 mile away. Fort William is 25 miles.

Further Details:

Hill walking, cycling, kayaking, sailing, fishing all start 100 yards from the house.
